Now that the lead line of live on Twitch -> clipped video on other sites leading to the main stream is becoming major
We feel that the 24-hour exclusivity policy is a major obstacle in terms of speed.
It also makes it difficult for streamers to quickly clip and spread their videos on other media, which may cause streamers to not choose Twitch as their platform of choice for streaming.
We feel that this rule should be eliminated or relaxed.

During The Cycle: Frontier drops week, I saw a lot of streamers pulling multiple 24 hour streams. But they ended up exhausted and burned out. This is not really healthy for them, and somewhat irresponsible of Twitch.

What I suggest is that Twitch drops should be limited to 12 hours per day, for each creator.

- This will remove the incentive for the streamer to continue for 24 hours. Which is better for their health.

- You will have fewer tired streamers. They will be fresh and upbeat for the next day!

- Smaller channels will get more exposure, because bigger names will not be on for the full 24 hours.

- The streamers will be able to choose when they stream, and when they rest.

- Streamers can of course do a longer stream, if they wish. Just the drops will stop after 12 hours.

If you ask streamers, they may not like the idea of less time doing drops, because the more time they do drops, the more followers they gain.

But if drops time is limited, then the game doing the drops might decide to do more days of drops. So streamers will still get the same amount of time doing drops, just more spread out (and healthier).

Please be a responsible platform, and consider something like this, for the health and energy of your streamers.

Yes please! I wanna be able to multi stream without losing my affiliate status! I never understood why that’s even a thing.

Take away the exclusivity rule for affiliates/partners.

Let affiliates multistream! There is alot of smaller streamers that choose not to become affiliate cause they cant multi stream.
Facebook gaming let you be in the lvl up program and multi stream.
Trovo lets you earn and lvl up even when multi streaming to other platforms!
Let the affiliates reach more people, but at the same time get what they deserve on twitch.
Multi streaming can help more people find the smaller streamers twitch, and get more ppl in to twitch.
Multi streaming is good for affiliates, but having so that they cant multistream makes them stop streaming on twitch, or not sign up to the affiliate program so they lose alor of the things that they should be able to have

Let Affiliates multi-stream to other platforms at the same time, upload Their clips or create a VOD of highlights from the stream and upload it after the stream is offline the same day as the stream was live on various platforms.

1. For Multi-Streamers :-

I am a Streamer from India, and sadly twitch does not have a huge presence in terms of user base for the local Audience here, they prefer YouTube over Twitch to watch live streams.

My content caters to both Western and Eastern Audience so I want to Stream on Twitch which is vastly popular in the West while also on YouTube which is the more popular option in my Region.

There are several people who will agree with me on this point at some level, I don't mind 50% of my affiliate income going to Twitch / Amazon if it means I can make at least 50% income from Twitch while also simultaneously streaming on another platform.

I think it's a fair trade-off, if you want a higher percentage of your income, stream exclusively to 1 platform.

This is not just about income though, A lot of the main experience of streaming on Twitch is being an affiliate or partner.

3. Chat Perks (Not affected by Slow Mode)
4. Channel Points
5. Subscribing and Gifting Subs
6. TRANSCODING (Video Quality options for viewers)

These are features that are really helpful for those trying to grow as a streamer, gives viewers Incentives for supporting their favourite streamers.

There are people still requesting this clause to be removed in 2021 despite having multiple work arounds, You can be a non affiliate and still get access to

1. Custom emotes via BTTV
2. Streamlabs Monthly Tipping (Alternative to Subscription)
3. Chat bots like cloudbot having its own version of channel points

So it's not all about the money, especially when the work arounds give you 100% of your income for the same level of viewer convienence.

It's to give your viewers the best platform experience and enabling your streamers to create content as a profession.

2. For Affiliate Content Creators :-

As a streamer I play for about 8 hours during the day and Stream for 5 hours, in those 5 hours I do a various amount of things worthy for VOD content. Now as soon as I get off, the first thing I do is download the stream and clips and start editing during the night and finish before going to bed.

I have a 10-15 min video of my stream and now I have to wait 24hours to upload and share the moment.....

Now I am aware of how twitch is not strict with the 24hour clause and it's implementation so people just end up uploading the content immediately, but the clause is still a violation of the Affiliate program agreement, And just like the wave of DMCA takedowns that recently happened on Twitch regarding copyright music, this can be happening from Twitch enforcing the clause and get multiple strikes on your YouTube channel because of the clause Violation.

The DMCA takedowns and strikes for music was a nightmare and the possibility of this clause (24hour exclusivity) being enforced will create the same level of chaos or even worse....

Every other Streaming platform as of writing this post has no exclusivity clause for streamers who earn on their platform except for twitch.

I love twitch as a platform, love the creators on it. And I still stream as a non affiliate on the platform because I want to increase my reach, but it would honestly mean a lot to every affiliate on the platform if you could remove the 24hour clause.

When you see partners streaming on multiple platforms at the same time, you can tell that Twitch doesn't enforce this rule that much.

It wants twitch users to report these individuals.

Why should the users report? The creators want to reach as many people as they possibly can. Why should they be punished for wanting to do so?

Saw one partner that had double the viewership on Youtube vs Twitch.

Either Twitch is gonna have to find the enforcement themselves, or somehow sweeten the deal for being Affiliate/Partner exclusive.

Youtube is getting better as a streaming platform. Twitch is gonna HAVE to make some changes. Removing the exclusivity requirement is a good move, in my opinion, because it shows that you give a **** about the creators/streamers.

Then revoke your affiliate status and feel free to multicast and post your content where you wish, when you wish. If affiliate hurts you more than it helps you, that is an option as well.

Edit: Several big broadcasters have told people who have affiliated to do this and then decide later on when they have the viewers to then sign on again. They did this when the affiliate program came out.

The exclusivity agreement feels like a big first step for smaller streamers, you get sub badges, emotes, ad revenue, etc. However, with all of those aspects achieved, there comes a giant roadblock loaded into the agreement: the 24 hour exclusivity agreement.

This agreement states that any content shown on your Twitch channel must be exclusive to Twitch for 24 hours after the end of the stream it occurred, prevents streamers from editing and uploading clips of their channels over a full day past the event. It also prevents multicasting to other platforms, limiting exposure to growing streamers.

If you consider the growing popularity of other platforms, this limitation is counterproductive to promoting growth for not only the streamer, but the platform as well. Should the Affiliate reach partner status, that would allow them to say, "Hey everyone, I've decided to sign exclusively with Twitch, so if you like the content and would like to continue to support, please check me out over there." This would increase traffic to their channel and Twitch as a whole.

TL;DR - The exclusivity agreement prevents streamers from growing and is inadvertently kneecapping your site.

DLive allows you to multi-stream if you're an affiliate on there (I think partner too)

YouTube and Facebook streaming services allow you to restream to various platforms at the same time. Why is it that the leading streaming platform can't allow this for affiliates. Personally, I feel that if you want to Partner with Twitch that's when things should be exclusive in terms of streaming to multiple platforms at the same time.

I just why twitch is the only platform that forces its affiliates to stream their content solely to twitch and not to other platforms at the same time. Especially since multistreams or restrreaming to other platforms right after ive finished streaming could help bring in more users and watchers. Id say the 24 hour exlusivity deal is the one reason that I hate being an affiliate.

I started watching twitch from someone streaming to both twitch and youtube and I wanted to join their chat here. I just found out this is against Twitch's exclusivity rules in some of their contracts and the streamer I watch will have to stop doing this. If this twitch streamer had been following Twitch's rules all along I wouldn't have found the community here. More people like me will be able to find this site if these rules are loosened.
