allow us to become affiliate with everything but no subscription and bits (no money earned) but it would increase interactivity on streams.

I am on disability services and cannot receive additional income. This means that I can't accept the affiliate or partner program, and am locked out of features such as polls, emotes, channel points etc.

It would be amazing to be able to opt out of earning income with these programs so that those of us with disabilities can still receive these features. I know there are ad-ons to help with some of these issues, but it is hard to access for mobile users, which accounts for over 50% of my viewership.

I got a question rather than an idea, is it possible to not get subs once you reach affiliate? To block it in any way? I would love to reach affiliate to be able to use emotes , but subs are not necessary for me... :-)

I know I'm in the minority here, but have you guys considered a different option for "Affiliate" that does not have the money go to the broadcaster directly?

I stream for fun, and for that reason along with other tax implication concerns, I don't want to get paid by Twitch at the moment. I was notified that I qualified for the Affiliate program but was hesitant after seeing everything I needed to fill out. I know there are other streamers like myself who continue to broadcast without getting paid, and I think it's great. The benefits of being a Partner / Affiliate are also great (Emotes and Channel Points being the biggest ones) but these are not available unless you start accepting money. So, what about a different type of option for people like us? Here are a few ideas I had for your consideration:

1. Have a payout option to go directly to charity. This can be done with Twitch as the donor (I don't care about taking credit or the tax write-offs at all, Twitch can have that). This would be the ideal option in my opinion.
2. Have the "Subscribe" button for $0, with an option to disable Bit Donations completely.
3. Have Twitch take 100% of the proceeds from any subscriptions and bits, signing a waiver if necessary. This one is a last resort to be honest, but at least it's an option.

If these options don't work with the current "Affiliate" definition, then why not create another category entirely for people like me. Call the program and its broadcasters "Torch Bearers" (or whatever you want, I just made that up). I think allowing a broadcaster to have emotes and channel points can help their channel grow a lot and provide great entertainment without having everything be monetized. Maybe the "Subscription" button can act differently for this group, kind of like how YouTube does it. You could still have requirements for this category similar to Affiliate to make it worth your while to setup (so not every channel can just hop right in), and you could also extrapolate on this with other ideas as well ... this is just an idea to hopefully start a discussion.

I think it's a great idea with no drawbacks other than Twitch setting up the infrastructure for the program. You could also upgrade / switch to Affiliate at some point if you'd like. Just something to consider. Feel free to comment and add to the suggestion. I didn't think about this for too long; just throwing it out there. I'm sure other people have good ideas as well.

I feel like Affiliate should be accessible to everyone, if there were a way to become a streamer full-time and ease your way into it until you become a Partner, that would be awesome, not everyone has access to an SSN, I know in all technicality it is a legitimate business but it's better to just let people hop in and get what they built their community toward.

As someone who streams and has the ability to become affiliate now there is only 1 thing stopping me from doing that. And that is that I dont want to spend a ton of time on taxes and stuff, I want to make it so that I can become affiliate without adding the ability to sub. I only want to add channel points and dont really care about subs

this is an idea i absolutely want to support because of my own living circumstances.
Going a bit into detail and adding a little more details to the suggestion for this scenario:

For myself, i am currently unemployed (due to health issues). Because of this, i get Unemployment benefits and i have to specify earnings to the state, that will cut down my benefits i get from them. In the past, this has lead me to getting my benefits getting re-calculated every month, leading to partially critical financial situations because the money gets cut short in advance, and i get it back one month later if i stay below the allowed amount of monthly additional earnings.

Making it possible to get Affiliate-Status in non-Profit (basically redirecting all potential earnings 100% to twitch) would resolve the issue, making both, twitch and the streamer profiting from it (the streamer will not have to deal with taxes and comparable stuff, while still getting the other Affiliate-benefits such as server-sided transcoding and VoD storing. twitch on the other hand will get the full cut from subscriptions and cheers instead of sharing it with the streamer). In that case, it would be absolutely necessary, that none of the money ever reaches a point, where the streamer has access to it (for example a digital wallet) and while in "non-profit-mode", there should be no way for payout or comparebale income going to the streamer.

At this point, if you want to accept the invitation to a "non-Profit-Affiliate-Program" all steps regarding taxes and similar things could be skipped .

In case you want to change this later, there could just be the option to re-start the affiliate onboarding just as it is right now and choose to be profit- or non-profit-Affiliate.
