1. twitch sings creator programme 50/50 share

   You recently announced the DJ programme for streamers to play DMCA music and share 50% of the revenue with the music creators, and it's understandable that music rights were one of the big issues for why sings was closed. There should be a similar programme for twitch sings, where people can opt in as a twitch sings channel and share 50% of their earnings on that channel with the music rights owners in the same manner and give us back twitch sings, it seems a fair way to bring it back and many creators would be happy to share their revenue to do this, you could even go so far as doing a rev share with any duets too splitting with the other creator in duets that earn revenue.

   Most people are far more interested in bringing back twitch sings than playing music as a DJ and this solves the DMCA issue because revenue will be shared with the music companies in the same fashion, so surely this would be a way to bring twitch sings back. (don't hide this in some other old category to avoid people voting on this as people would vote this up if they agree) It's a fair way to share the revenue and make sings work.

3. Establish a Disabled Creators Guild

   For the past year, we have watched as the Twitch Black, Latin, and Women's Guilds have grown. Event recently, the Twitch Pride Guild was also announced. I would like to call for Twitch to create a Disabled Creators Guild to work with and uplift creators who have routinely been forgotten on Twitch.

   Disabled Creators are a growing population on Twitch, especially as many disabled creators recognize the easier form of work that comes with managing one's own schedule, working as much or as little as needed, and finding community with other creators; the latter point is the most vital for disabled folks, who rely on community for advice and aid. A guild would provide a vital network for creators to increase equity for individuals who are disabled.

   I would love to see a Disabled Guild, and would also love to see Twitch finally recognize disabled creators in July for Disability Pride Month. This guild could and should include visible and invisible disabilities along with mental illness and neurodivergence!

4. Pre-Launch Feedback on the Twitch DJ Program

   While I am very encouraged to see the addition of a "DJ" category on Twitch, and by the work that has been done to negotiate a fair compensation and royalty framework for music labels and artists — at least based on the details that have been shared thus far on the Twitch Blog and linked DJ Program page — there is much work yet to be done to evolve this program to the point that it will be feasible and reasonable for DJs to actually opt-in without fears that they can continue offering a similar livestreaming experience that their fanbase has come to love without getting banned from the platform or suffering other untoward repercussions for having opted in.

   Based on what has been publicly presented thus far, the Twitch DJ Program seems to fundamentally lack an understanding of how the electronic music scene functions, and evolves. Which is admittedly confusing given that the Twitch handle of the platform's CEO is @DJClancy, but I digress. As with live musicians who test new material out on Twitch before releasing it or performing it out at live shows, so too do many DJs test out pre-release tracks on their Twitch streams. There are three categories of activity here:

   1. DJs who are not producers, but who know producers or are part of pre-release pools where they are sent tracks to "test" in their sets — whether live or livestreaming — to get market feedback and build a buzz for these tracks before their official release.

   2. DJs who are also artists who contribute their musical talents, such as vocals, to electronic music tracks, and who test them out pre-release for the same reasons as above.

   3. DJs who are also producers, who not only test out pre-release tracks as per above after the tracks have been finalized, but who test out various iterations of tracks before they have been finalized to obtain market feedback from their Twitch viewers, many of whom are also electronic music producers.

   These types of pre-release activity are not unique to Twitch, and are widespread in the electronic music scene in general, and have been for decades. In fact, it is a hallmark of "top DJs" who play live events, to include unreleased tracks in their sets, oftentimes tracks they have no involvement in the production of. It seems particularly odd that the Twitch DJ Program would explicitly outlaw the very activity that makes and keeps "top DJs" at the height of their popularity.

   It has been disheartening to see widespread fear and confusion amongst the many dozens of Twitch DJs — particularly those who are also artists and/or producers — over the past few days on social media. And as a viewer (and moderator for several DJ streamers) I am gravely concerned that Twitch has missed the proverbial cue point here and is about to drive some of the streamers I and many others love most, off of the platform. It doesn't require a great stretch of the imagination to guess where they will go, and I for one do not want that to happen. I also believe that Twitch has the collective brain trust available to it — within its staff, streamers and larger Twitch electronic music community — to be able to navigate this thoughtfully, tactfully and effectively to allay fears and build out a DJ Program that reflects the realities of the electronic music industry that we've been so fortunate to have and experience on the platform as an unexpected blessing of the pandemic.

   While I am not a DJ, musical artist or electronic music producer, I do feel it reasonable to say that I am part of the fabric of the DJ community on Twitch as a viewer, moderator and supporter.

   I watched >3k hours last year alone, and have easily watched >10k hours since August 2020 when I joined the platform, many of which have been of DJ streams. Per my last Twitch recap, I am in the top 10% of "Music" category viewers (predominantly DJ streams), and a "Top Twitcher", "Category Champion" and "Majestic Moderator".

   I've spent over $1000 every year since 2020 supporting Twitch streamers — predominantly DJs — with subs and bits, and invested hundreds of hours of my time moderating DJ streams. Outside of Twitch, I've spent thousands of dollars and invested hundreds of hours of my time trying to bring a larger audience to Twitch DJ streams in an effort to make it more sustainable for more DJs to derive a meaningful income from Twitch streaming.

   Lastly, I've attended live electronic music events and been an avid fan of DJs for over 25 years, and can say without question that Twitch has been instrumental in globally linking together fans of electronic music across the dozens of genres and subgenres thereof, to form vibrant, engaged and passionate communities of DJ streamers, viewers and moderators, including many individuals who actually contribute their musical talents to producing and releasing tracks that give us fans something to listen to in the first place. I deeply and sincerely hope that Twitch takes the time to get this right with an approach that reflects the true essence of electronic music culture before officially rolling out the Twitch DJ Program.

6. Don't force smaller partners to have their partner plus goal set to 300 instead of 100

   Feels a bit ridiculous to have a goal of 300 unique subs for partner plus when you are a smaller twitch partner, affiliates get to show a goal of 100. Give us a choice please.

   give the mods the ability to run the blerp soundboard for the creator cause older mac versions for example cant run OBS and so my girlfriend cant run it on her old Mac Book with the OS Version High Sierra (and not higher...). Her Mods could run the panel while she only focusing herself on gaming

8. improved and consume less internet consumption for twitch so it can be more efficient

   Give us and option to see what wrong or and app that we can see what going wrong with live stream like for example if something goes wrong wild going live it alert us what's the problem and how to fix it and a solution if you can fix and add twitch support on twitch tv pls.

10. Partner badge, but for artists

    I would be nice for artists who make emotes or other art for multiple streamers to have a verified badge to show you make art on a regular base. I think this would help new streamers to easily find artists who take commissions for emotes and help the artist themself to get more recognition.
    You can use certain goals before you can apply for this badge, just like the partner program. Goals like : make x amount of emote attributions , get artist badge with x amount of streamers, etc

    Extra : it would be nice if artists have an overview on their channel with al the emote attributions. Something like a portfolio.

11. Partner Plus Real Time Goal Tracking

    The partner plus feature should have realtime updates. Since twitch has integrated alerts and such it would be tremendously helpful for this to be a native goal that can be tracked on stream. As of now it takes a really long time for points to show in the counter and that can lead to confusion. The refresh time to check for this takes too long.

    Twitch has a history of granting exclusive benefits to top streamers, like unique username privileges. For example, "xQcOW" was permitted to change their username to "xQc," which contains only three characters, while others must have at least four. To ensure fairness and consistency, I propose that Twitch Partner Plus members should be granted access to the same privileges as streamers under Twitch Premium Partner Terms.

    Benefits:

    • Encourages more streamers to work towards the Twitch Partner Plus program, driving growth and engagement.

    • Demonstrates Twitch's commitment to recognizing and rewarding content creators.

16. different criteria for affiliate for different types of streams / channel points for all, bits for affiliate?

    So, my channel is a Squirrel Backyard stream. I'm trying so, so hard to get to that 3/v/hr, which i'm about to try to show it's easy to do that if you try normally.

    why it's hard for this type of stream, i WANT to be going 24/7. Right now I HAVE to limit myself to 8-8 m-f and hope one day by chance I get a huge raid that pushes me past the 3/v/h. Then I have to game everything hours wise to make that 3 happen.

    For a gaming profile streaming 5 hours a week, easy. I'm going to try to make it happen on a 'gamer' profile here soon. I think any gamer who dedicates a bit of time and energy and a minimum of 8 hours a week can easily hit affiliate with no issues.

    For me, I want to be up 24/7. I am up for 12 hours a day, monday - friday. that's 60 hours I have to account for. And in THIS type of stream, it's just not designed for consistent streaming.

    MAYBE this just isn't the place to do this kind of stream anymore? Others who hit the mark doing this exact type of stream are doing really (imo) cheap/easy things (i also don't mean that as a down play to anyone either, i love every critter cam, i just feel like i can DO this REALLY COOL). I want to explode with creativity, but none of that happens till i get and can play with channel points, which is stuck behind affiliate.

17. Disable the double-click for fullscreen/normal when in "Hammer mode", it is basically a bug that it is not done so

    Also this message was censored in the chat of the stream which had that feature:

    "And I just noticed when you click fast with the hammer not only does it switches to fullscreen but also randomly put you in theater mode, and so if you dont notice you get "stuck" in it"

    I am trying to help, but people silence me... and don't thank me....

    Hello Fellow Streamers and Twitch,

    I have been searching high and low for a way to reach out to twitch staff, because of concerns I have had with some things, and Twitch being my primary platform of income, this impacts me, as I know it does many others out there.

    Suggestions to Twitch:

    1. It's time to prove your not all talk, show love to your affiliates: a) Create an affiliate panel that can represent the affiliate community, include people with very small channels and larger channels, this panel should consist of at least 10-15 streamers, who will work side by side with Twitch staff to ensure that affiliates are being cared for, their needs are being addressed, and their content and creativity is being positively impacted. This should be non-negotiable. Twitch forces a contract for all affiliates as they do Partners, but Twitch staff are magical unicorns whom cannot be reached by Affiliates like they can with Partners, this is unacceptable and creates an elitist environment that only hurts the MAJORITY of money earners for Twitch, we might make less collectively than the top 1% of partner earners on Twitch, but we are many, and we contribute quite a bit.

    B) Start rolling out features that HELP affiliates, not hinder them. This is a no brainer, the more help and incentive Twitch gives to their megabase of Affiliate streamers, the more money they make as a company, and the more they can show the value of being an affiliate. Stop treating them as after-thoughts and sub par/unworthy streamers, and start standing up to help them.

    C) Squad streaming for ALL contracted streamers, affiliates, partners and partner plus alike, the feature is on the platform, use it for everyone contracted for the platform, plain and simple, its NOT difficult to roll out access to everyone, and only HELPS and in no way should it harm or cost much if anything to roll it out to every contracted streamer on Twitch.

    D) Step up and share the love with affiliates or release the claim to their content. You cannot expect to OWN the rights to a content creators work, but then offer them **** all in return, affiliates are some of the most hard working streamers on the platform, they put in the most hours, work the hardest to hit milestones, with hopes that one day they too will have a purple checkmark, since partners have no further milestones required to hit, they can afford a bit more leniency to things (not saying partners don't bust their butts either, but there is more drive and motivation for those with goals still to be achieved, this is just fact). So if you want to keep ownership, do something to actually DESERVE it. Prove that affiliates mean something to you, or else, keep watching people leave in droves for other platforms, who do not restrict them, or try to take ownership of something they do not have the right to claim, like Kick, YT, Facebook or the million other competing places to stream or post content, this, should be non-negotiable.

    1. Profit margins.... It's time to address the elephant in the room, Twitch has such an convoluted and wordy agreement, that tries to entrap streamers into an employee like relationship with ZERO guaranteed compensation to the person actually doing the work, THE STREAMER. The fact of the matter is, they had to roll back the sponsorship restrictions because it would actually breach the freelancer laws in many countries, and they would have been on the hook for paying wages to so many streamers in so many countries, it would have lead to so many loopholes Twitch would have been bankrupt, but here's the thing, the compensation tables are pisspoor. You need to revisit them, rework them, and properly pay the people who's content you try to own for 24 hours. Fix the cuts, offer 60% to affiliates or I am sure we could settle for 50% IF you gave them more features and help, fixed your ****** algorithms and enable your affiliates the EXACT SAME discovery opportunities that you afford your top earners. Scrap the ****** Partner plus program and just boost Partner earnings again, since ya know, they are your elite hand picked, pay them like they mean something to you, maybe then people like xQc wouldn't be dippin' so fast.

    2. Stop avoiding Affiliates, open up a proper support network that allows them to connect with Twitch staff, Partners and Affiliates are all independent contractors of Twitch, so treat them equally. Give them access to talk about their concerns, to know that they are worth something to Twitch except more money in the bank.

    3. Did I mention features and discoverability? I think I touched on it, but just in case my point was lost, open features and discoverability for ALL affiliates and partners alike, anything less, just shows Twitch they DGAF about Affiliates and we are just cash cattle for whatever they can milk out of them, at least that's how many feel.

    4. Be open, honest and transparent. Support your marginalized streamers, have diversity of POC, indigenous, Trans, Gay, Lesbian, non binary, older, younger and accomplished streamers, be it music, art, written or otherwise, celebrate the big and small streamers, be transparent about the **** going on in the background, be honest about infractions, be open to all your streamers and viewers... It's time to swallow the pill. Either take the pill of what you claim you are, or else swallow the lump of BS you have fed us and admit your not open and transparent.

    These are just starting points to improve Twitch as a platform, improve QoL, stop the mass jumping of the Twitch ship, and improve the overall morale around here, I have MANY MANY more suggestions. But these will suffice for now.
