Clips user experience declining
I've noticed over the last couple of years the Clips viewer experience on the decline as different changes to the UI are implemented. This experience is based on browsing with Chrome on desktop PC and with the iOS client as viewed on a tablet.
Visiters to new channels are almost certainly going to want to look at the most popular clips.
- Old experience: Whether the channel was online or offline there was always a Clips link directly on the channel landing page.
Current experience: If the channel is offline you have to go to Videos, use the drop-down list to select Clips. Why? It's not like there's any change to available widget space when the channel is offline. Pleae restore Clips as a link directly on the streamers landing page.
Old experience: When visiting the clips page we got used to having the date selector (24h/7d/30d/all time) on the right hand side. I would almost certainly want to immediately change it to all time if I'm a new visitor, while subscribers probably want to see recent clips. I guess I don't have a problem with it defaulting to 24h.
New experience: For no apparent reason the date range has been moved over to the left. Please restore it to the right or don't move it around again.
Old experience: There was no "highlights only" selector for clips.
New experience: The highlights only selector now replaces where the date range was, it's all the way over to the right while all the other controls are all the way left. Maybe the UI team didn't realize on larger screens? Additionally no streamers have highlight clips (yet?) but I expect regardless basically everyone will always be toggling that selector to disable highlights only. People want to see the fan favorite (most viewed) clips.
=> Please default the selector to not highlights only or let the streamer choose the default they want for their viewers, but start with it defaulting to off
=> Please move the selector over to the same side as the other clip control widgets.Old experience ios: Swiping the playing clip down moved the playing thumbnail video to the bottom right, I was then easily able to swipe it off the screen to close it
New experience ios: Swiping the playing clip down moves the mini player to the top right (??) then I have to carefully click the close widget on the mini player.
=> Please restore the simpler more untuitive clip player experience from before

Continued comment on the "highlights only" selector, in browser. If I switch highlights only to off, then view a clip I expect to be able to scroll down and see other clips with the highlights selector still disabled. But that's not the case, every time I watch a clip and scroll down the highlights only selector has reverted back to enabled and therefore have to disable it again to resume browsing the clips.
