[Test] New Options Under Live Video Player
Some viewers may notice up to three new buttons below the video player of live channels: Rewind the Stream, Remind Me, and Watch Trailer.
We're rolling out this update for testing purposes, to help inform future features. This experiment is expected to last one month.
We'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. We look forward to hearing your feedback!

Exactly...

Loved this when I was able to use it, has since disappeared, and I am not unable to use it. PLEASE bring this back and don't just kill it!

I have seen this on some channels, I think its a great idea it gives people who are 5m late see what happen before and know what chat/streamer is talking about

I really like the rewind button option. If I meet a streamer in game, it's cool to rewind their stream and see what they thought of my plays from that game.

The rewind button is a great addition. It simplifies what would otherwise be having to navigate to the VOD of the running stream (which most people don't even know is a thing) and scrolling through that to get to the part you missed.

The rewind button is a joke, even though I'm subscribed to the channel I'm met with the "This video is only available to subscribers. Sub now to watch and support " overlay
"Remind me" button could be useful even though I will not be using it. I'm already receiving notifications from Twitch when a streamer that I'm following goes online.

I really appreciate this feature, I was watching a codm tournment yesterday and could go back 2 minutes when I lost plays or when I want to watch again any play... But, the buffer was a little problematic... as it is under tests, should be ok

The behavior of the rewind button is janky, it sometimes seems to fail to rewind and shows the vod duration bar for a second before going back to live. When I did get it to work, the feature is super useful for getting the context of a stream. I found it more useful for quickly being able to scrub back through the video of the broadcast, then for actually going back 2 seconds.
Edit: Just noticed another bug, when I fullscreen the player while i'm in rewind mode, I see the message: "To view the stream while an ad is playing, watch it in theater mode"

I just saw the rewind button for the first time when I was not logged in. I clicked it and I think it took me to the end of the VOD (didn't redirect but rather did that within the player, I could see the VOD duration bar) which then played for like 5 seconds and instantly took me back to live stream. Pretty much useless in that case.
Weirdly enough, I opened the same stream logged in and the rewind button wasn't there, so to double-check I opened the stream in a private window, where the button was then there. A couple of minutes later, though, I wanted to try the feature again, so I opened that same stream again in a private window, but suddenly the button was gone. Not sure if bugged or just bad timing if the button was just temporary for that stream. -

I would appreciate the rewind feature more if it didn't cause the streams that I'm viewing to constantly buffer every couple of seconds. Hopefully the issues get sorted out within a timely manner. I also agree with what other people have said, we should really only have a timeline of which we can slide back and forth like a YouTube video instead of having a tab that only goes back 2 minutes in the stream.

It would be great if you really implemented a live dvr feature like the competition has, with the ability to slide through time during the stream (with previews on hover), instead of having to go watch the VOD (in case the streamer has the streams being archived).

i want to link this thread, these options should be included and the entire video player should be updated to include these buttons... not below the live video player.
having a DVR style player, where viewers can pause live stream, rewind, would compliment ads that we have on the platform, their is nothing worse than a midroll ad happening and then missing a highlight of a stream.
if you have an ad inserted into the stream, the stream would still be live, but the viewer watching can have the control to keep watching the stream from where they left off before the add or scroll through the live stream to get caught up without missing content -

Rewind: The rewind button is useful, but it should really would better be a seamless timeline into the vod/back to live. The biggest problem is that after jumping back, you start missing the NEXT two minutes of stream. I would suggest a way to catch up to live directly via speeding up the video would be vital to this making sense.
There *are* valid concerns with accidentally revealing sensitive information, but I believe this is a *rare enough* occurrence that much extra work beyond the already existing "kill the stream and remove the VOD" is unnecessary. Potentially a stream by stream disable (IE if you disable vods for a stream), but definitely not disabled by default.
Potentially a button to "strike the last N minutes from the vod" instead of removing it completely would be a good addition regardless of the implementation of the rewind button.
Remind Me: I am unaware of many streamers with a schedule who change it to where the remind me is super useful, however, I do think its useful enough to get reminded before start instead of waiting for the notification, which can be delayed due to the pure number of notifications being sent.

Rewind the Stream:
This must have option to be disabled and it must be disabled by default. This is very bad decision to have this on streams because it is huge security hole if something sensitive leaks. (phone numbers etc)
ATM this feature is enabled on streams when you are not logged in so you can anonymously go back and capture sensitive material if somethings leaks on stream. Before this the broadcaster could just delete VODs + clips to be more safe.
It is "great" feature but big security hole and at least it needs more tools that broadcasters, editors and moderators can affect with it. At least moderators or editors should able to disable this on the fly during stream if something happens.

Solid, very convenient qol feature, just add options to it. Let ppl choose how much to rewind or maybe just a few options like 30 sec, 1min, 2 min

Rewind stream is a great thing but i wish it could be changed like REWIND STREAM FOR 10 MINS. Watch trailer isn't really useful for me, but might be useful for others! Remind me is very good as it shows the schedule the streamer has. I would recommend to make the buttons a bit smaller, but overall, good feature!
