On small windows, place chat below the stream like mobile
When the stream windows is too small horizontally to show the chat on the right side, it would be better if instead it was placed (with an option to close it) below the video so that long vertical windows can still have video and chat.
For example, this would allow to have the stream and chat when having two windows (one of them chat) side by side. Particularly useful when using a single monitor.

Windows that are small enough will cause the chat to shift below the player (rather than to the right of the player) when in theater mode.

I have a 32" landscape, a 24" portait, and 24" landscape monitor(in that order left to right) and I often like to have videos and streams up on the portrait one, but the twitch viewing experience for a 9*16 window is very poor. There should be an option to move elements around so people can place the chat below the stream or whereever they want it, without having to use pop out windows.

Yes, indeed.
I have a 1440p main monitor and 2nd monitor on portrait mode 1200 x 1920.
With default settings/UI video area is very limited, only 812 x 456.
Placing chat below video would give us wider view. This can be done with popout chat, but it's a separate window. If I use my browser for a moment, and get back to twitch, I need to select main app and text chat.
So please make it possible to customize chat location on the app, in the way that chat remains integrated with the main app.

This would be fantastic. Its common for me to split screen for miscellaneous work while a stream is on, but chat either needs to be hidden or let it block half the stream. I can pop it out and manually reposition the stream and chat to try to view them both, but its such a pain to manual resize them separately anytime anything needs to adjusting.
I'm sure of any situation where a viewer would rather the chat block the stream rather than automatically snapping to the area below the stream.

One of the things I hate is that when I dock my browser to the side, the chat completely disappears and all i can see is the video. Could you have the chat move to below the video like how it is in Twitch Mobile whenever the viewport narrows too much.

It would be helpful for using Twitch in a portrait mode to allow chat to occupy the bottom of the screen. Often while using Twitch I like to snap the window to half of the display, and use the other half for other tasks.
Right now I have to pop-out the chat, which is a little clunky.
In addition, it would be handy if the divide between the video and the chat was resizeable, so I could make chat bigger or smaller, and have the video automatically resize.
