normalize Ad volume with content volume

Not as frequently as before but still often, Ads play which are dramatically louder than the broadcast content. This is an annoyance, interferes with other people in the house, and frankly makes me more likely to mute the ad and go do something in a different tab.

Normalizing volume levels with stream average volume or peak volume wouldn't take a huge amount of processing power and would fix the problem entirely. It's required by the US's FCC in other broadcast mediums, but it's really just a quality of life improvement for the viewers and a mark of good production.

A majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

    Your ads are incredibly loud and intrusive. I report the sound and the repetitiveness every time it happens and nothing has been fixed. At least go back to controlled ads.

    Yes my user name is kinda dark so you can call me Brandon. So I assume that twitch doesn’t find this an important customer issue, but hey maybe they’ll start listening to their consumers soon. It is just ridiculous that I can be enjoying myself and then BEING YELLED AT BY SOME AD! Please stop blowing out our ear drums. I would like to hear from Emmett Shear about this and his plans to fix this issue. Thank you for your time and I look forward to his response to all of us.

    What I love is when I'm listening to ASMR and a loud ad comes on screaming in my ear. Twitch don't care about mental health it looks like. After the recent BS with forcing ads on everyone I think I'll stick to YouTube.

    This has to be implemented, or there should be strict guidelines for how to set up stream audio as a Twitch streamer. A lot of good streamers have no knowledge or interest in audio technology, unfortunately.

    Your ads have terrible audio quality so when the ads suddenly pop up while watching streams its audio quality is so bad that it hurts my ears. Both me and my girlfriend watch streams on twitch and everytime the ads pops up we have to mute the sound because of bad audio quality so the volume gets way too loud. And i dont even want to start to talk about the ads audio while listening with earplugs/headset, because i have to throw my headset away the second the ads come

    Please fix this by maybe turning the default audio lower on your ads?

    Ads are still very loud, especially on Ipad/iphone app. You listen to a stream at 50% volume and then ads volume is so loud it hurts your ears. Twitch should consider its liability against harm to listeners ears, it's a serious matter and very annoying!

    Looking at you Galaxy Samsung. It is so insanely louder than the stream AND other ads played beside it! It is careless and upsetting every time I run into this ad.

    five and a half years, glad to know our ears are Twitch's top priority.

    Why is it that when a mid roll ad is played in my web browser by a streamer does it then mute the stream after? This is so annoying why not go back to the previous volume?

    Definitely not fixed. Had ear buds in and a commercial actually startled the **** out of me it was so loud.

    Laws prevent TV commercials from being louder than the content. What made Twitch think do it with their commercials was wise?

    Get this BS fixed...
    Over 5 years now and still the ads keep blasting out of the speakers...
