Ad Volume Overriding Twitch Volume
Today (August 17th) a new feature has apparently rolled out because I have not experienced this before. While watching TeePee, I was keeping my volume on Twitch around 10% as I was doing some other work. When he put his Ad-Roll on (which I don't have a problem with), I was instead BLASTED by Ads sounds overriding the Twitch volume control. I was able to reset it back down, but each subsequent ad turned the volume RIGHT BACK UP.
This is completely unacceptable and forced me to turn off the stream. So if driving away viewers is the goal, then I guess it's worked. This move alone will force me to go to other platforms if it is not immediately reversed.

Lately I am also experiencing this issue, which appears to be normal? It drives me to mute my browser tab or leave the stream. If I put the volume down to barely audible, it's because I needed to do that, ad or not! It's counterproductive, and frankly an ******* feature.

Wow. I hadn't realized this has been an issue for a while. I've only recently been experiencing jump-scares due to high volume ads. Oftentimes, I will casually listen to streams while doing something in another tab. I also suffer from chronic headaches, so a sudden intrusion of loud noise during those times is NOT appreciated.

I've been experiencing the same thing. this feels like a violation. it's intrusive and undermines the volume control, robbing agency from the viewer

This is not a condition I noticed, but here we are June 2024, and I'm now discovering this issue. Each ad plays at the volume it chooses irrespective of the settings. Because twitch has a volume setting, and my PC and speakers have a volume setting, and other software has volume settings, layering everything, means twitch ads suddenly blow my eardrums out, and I'm now looking for mute software. Please fix.

This is still happening and it's ridiculous. This guarantees I will mute, and possibly leave the stream frustrated altogether.

I am begging twitch to stop this very thing. At this point, anything that's advertised and blows out my eardrums (I'm listening to the stream at 10% volume, ad comes in at 100%) goes on a 'never purchase/use/watch' list for me. This auto volume change is an immediate way to make me hate whatever's being advertised.

This "feature" is incredibly frustrating. I understand that ad revenue is important for the site to be able to continue and I am fine with ads being played. I am not okay with my stream volume being forcibly overridden to the maximum volume so that I get blasted by sound. I am often wearing headphones or earbuds when watching and it is physically painful with how loud these ads get. At bare minimum there should be a setting in Accessibility that lets me toggle if ads can adjust my volume automatically or not. Please, please, please, fix this.

Please quit adjusting the volume on my personal computer when playing ads. This is totally unacceptable. I have my volume set to the levels I want and you have no right to be adjusting that to play ads. It's very intrusive and should not be allowed. I will start complaining directly to advertisers if it keeps happening. This is disgraceful that Twitch would override my own volume settings under any circumstance.

Been having the exact same issue regardless of browser, extensions, private, incognito, device etc etc. I really hope this is not a feature because it's hurtful, literally hurtful due to how loud the ads get despite the volume being muted according the the video player...?

Also happening to me the last few days. Completely unacceptable on twitch's part, yet you get the feeling they know exactly what they're doing...
