Been having the exact same issue regardless of browser, extensions, private, incognito, device etc etc. I really hope this is not a feature because it's hurtful, literally hurtful due to how loud the ads get despite the volume being muted according the the video player...?

A majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads! These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. We announced today on Patch Notes that we will be giving all streamers access to Channel Points. We will begin rolling out in the US on 7/28 and expand globally over the course of this year.

Really hoping this will have a solution now since I went a few weeks without being spammed horror ads and now I'm having to sit through them yet again, especially in the evening/night. I'm obviously not the demographic so I hope Twitch and the advertisers can just show me pizza/milk/pet food ads or literally anything other than horror ads...
It has been the only category of ads I have this issue with and I don't know why it's so hard to listen to the feedback.
