I am used to being protected from streams featuring sexual content and gambling. Sexual content is blurred in search results or recommended streams, and even if I enter a stream with a raid, I have to explicitly consent to viewing the stream based on the content labels.

And now I can be watching a very family-friendly stream, and suddenly Sydney Sweeney's bikini-bottom-clad buttocks are in my face as part of a sports gambling ad. If a female streamer did the kinds of things featured in that ad, she would be suspended for violations of the Community Guidelines (even if she used content labels!), and yet the safety features that used to protect viewers from content they may be sensitive to now simply don't work due to ads.

Like many other people in this thread, the psychological impacts of being served horror and gambling-related ads is devastating and results in me using Twitch less and less. Please for the love of everything give users options to opt out of receiving ads for disturbing or upsetting ad types.

The number of people whohave said this makes them close Twitch completely or otherwise disengage with the platform/streams, and multiple people mentioned loved ones who have had to stop using the platform all together from triggering ads all the time... it is too big for this to stay in "gathering interest" for yet another year. It has been 3 years since it had its status updated... Twitch, you can do something that makes people come back to the platform and more willing to engage.

today I had an ad for a horror film that was that disturbing it just made me close Twitch altogehter - that is not the intended effect. stop forcing such ads upon users.

A vast majority of my ads are for gambling services, which is upsetting to me. I know a couple other folks who simply don't use twitch anymore for this exact reason.
What's the point of restricting 'Gambling' content in my interface, if I'm still getting ads for it? It's disappointing to see this suggestion is 10 years old, without implementation.

Incredibly disgusted to find out gambling ads are shown to my viewers. I am infrequent streamer as it is, but that is enough to make me move off of Twitch entirely. I don't think I will be using the platform again until this feature is added.

I would desperately love the option to block ads for gambling services.
I'm not a problem gambler myself, but a lot of people are, and these ads are just disgustingly glorifying gambling, they need to go, or at least give us the choice to not see them!

also no matter how many times I use the ad centre to label them irrelevant, offensive, shown too often, or other, I still get absolutely bombarded with them!

I'm a British Partner and Turbo subscriber. I don't see ads on Twitch. However, a viewer told me during my stream today that they saw an ad for the US-based company "The Creation Museum", an organisation which I detest and consider to be radical religious extremism. They promote disinformation and indoctrinate children into anti-scientific ideas. They are the antithesis of knowledge and progress, and I do not want them to be associated with my channel. I raised a ticket to Partner Support and was told to report the ad. I can't see the ad. I'm in the wrong country and don't see ads anyway. I was told to get my viewers to report the ad. I don't want them to see the ad in the first place. I was then told there is no way other than posting here to object to the ad being played, so here I am. I simply cannot believe that Twitch would associate themselves with this organisation, and I cannot believe there is no way for me to opt out of their ads.

I strongly support the addition of a feature to opt out of certain categories of ads, and suggest that "religious organisations" be one of those categories.

i absolutely cannot do horror ads, i get them all the time, it legit makes me want to look into ways to block ads on twitch

I appreciate several from the Information which has been composed, and especially the remarks posted I will visit once more.

I am sick of having my anxiety triggered by horror movie ads. They've gotten WAY too good at making these things psychologically stressing, and these shouldn't be aired at all times like normal ads. Combine that with your complete lack of volume normalizing and how loud ads are, and you've got a big middle finger from me.

I'm also sick my kid being exposed to the same just because she's in room.

If the movie you're promoting is 18+ or rated R, you should let people opt out of these..

Network TV shows these things in the later hours of their schedule, acknowledging that this is an issue DECADES ago. People have been asking for this for literally YEARS.

Either show some **** sensitivity to the people who pay your bills, or expect unhappy viewers to leave your service. People don't need you jerks forcing panic attacks on us.

I agree that at the very least, there should be an option to replace horror ads with something else. I go to twitch to relax, not scared. It's getting to the point where I won't go on twitch because it's like the only ad I see.

Horror when the game/category is Minecraft/art/Just chatting/music is horrible. I got so used to the very beginning of one of the horror ads that as soon as I saw it start I muted the computer and walked away. And I play Phasmo and Demonologist.

Getting Spanish/French ads when I'm an English speaker (and reverse for those that speak a different language) is frustrating.

Give both streamers (who you are forcing to run ads in the first place and yes, we get it) and viewers the ability to make the ads actually work for them and it might get more interaction for the advertisers as well!

Hotels.com has two audio only ads which play. One of them is fine. The other one has a crying baby which screams throughout the ad which triggers some of us adults on a primal spectrum. -STOP THESE ADS-

I for one will NEVER do any business with Hotels.com because of just how angry this makes me when it plays. I stop whatever I'm doing to turn off twitch or mute the stream till it ends. There has been some suggestions add ad controls either for preferences or even block certain ads. This would solve this, but I've no idea why anyone thinks a crying child in the middle of entertainment is a good idea.

I recently noticed a little clickable Advertisementⓘ in the top right corner of stream when ads are played. It open a comment form and a links to amazon advertisement preferences wich is almost useless.
But with the clickable Advertisementⓘ we can leave a comment so I started leaving a comment everytime there's an horror ads with a link to this thread. I doubt it will do anything but hey, if other want to do the same, maybe it can bring more eyes on this.
