Preferred/Disliked ad categories
I would really like it if ads were categorized based on content; I love seeing ads for things like pizza and restaurants, but I HATE having to sit through an unskippable ad for a horror movie/show. If ads were categorized, there could be a section in Twitch options where I could move different tags into "show me more" and "show me less" status based on what I do or don't want to see.

When can we stop with the horror movie ads and realize that they make a lot of people uncomfortable. Especially kids and anyone with anxiety issues. I'm going to have to just turn twitch off when I have family over because the screaming of bloody murder with paranormal jump scares on the TV is just killing the ambiance of what we are trying to achieve by using twitch in the first place.
It's just frustrating at this point. Twitch obviously doesn't care. There are literally years worth of comments dating back to 2015 asking them to disable horror ads but here we are with the umpteenth exorcism reboot advertisement with screams of people dying and pleading for their lives. But I guess since it contributes to their ad-revenue we'll just have to deal with it for find a different platform. Shame on you twitch.

Would be great to have an option to disable horror movie adverts. When you're relaxing with a comfy stream, last thing you want is screaming, blood and creepy faces interupting you. Always worse around halloween but would be good year round.

I only see Twitch benefitting from more targeted ads. Showing certain ads to audiences that have either a dislike or an aversion to them is pointless.
Horror has audiences. Large audiences, to be sure, but not everyone is a part of those audiences. Showing graphic or shocking imagery to those not well suited to handle it without an option out of it is irresponsible.

I think the horror jump scares ads are too inappropriate (Insidious 5). Sometimes I would be watching some streams on my living room TV while some elderly would be walking pass. This could cause some serious health issues (eg heart attack) for elderly people if just happens they are watching the TV with me. Personally I am ok with ads, just not too inappropriate ones. Also will be better if we could hide a specific ad we deem inappropriate.

Done with this insidious ad non sense. Like what are they even targeting? Never consumed horror content. Hate it. Still every stream I go to its the same ad. And its not like you can go to another tab and let it play out, or just scroll down and let it play out. Oh no no no, you HAVE to watch this non sense or no streams. Such a stupid concept.

I just had 5 Insidious adverts in a row while watching a stream, specifically a jump scare scene, its scary and occasionally my 6yo will be in the same room and might see it which would terrify him. I mostly watch makers and crafting too which is a very chilled atmosphere, at least leave the horror ads to horror game streamers so its more relevant to the viewers!
Please Twitch, this is the top voted in this category, listen to us! -

I agree. Ads should be content aware (meaning on the type of stream they play on) and tailor on profile preferences. I believe there is place for Horror movies ads but I don't think its on stream set for chill games and vibes, they should play on streams of horror games and for profiles who watch that type of content. The same should apply for other ads like food, games, etc.

Had to turn off several streams today due to the new Insidious movie adverts. They contain jumpscares and disturbing visuals. To show these when i’m relaxing watching fortnite streams is ridiculous. I watch with my young child and have had to just stop using twitch today and probably until after the movie is finished advertising.

This is so true. I am really uncomfortable with seeing horror movie ads or just horror stuff in general. It affects my anxiety and I can't sleep well. Please let there be an option to see other ads. I don't want to have to leave a stream because I can't stand the ads. I will happily watch it through but when I leave a stream and come back hoping I'd get another ad, it's the SAME horror ad so I end up just quitting twitch and watching YouTube where I have personalised what ads I can watch.

Everytime this ad comes on I almost have a panic/anxiety attack, especially if it is night time. I have to quickly mute and change tabs on computer or turn off twitch completely on my tablet. I have an actual anxiety condition. Just because I'm over 18 does not mean I should be exposed this this sort of ad content, particularly when I am watching an art stream or Minecraft. Be considerate and stop these horror ads.

That is generally not what an advertiser wants. An advertiser wants to show ads to people who are likely to purchase the advertised product.
"considerate of people who have no interest in [...]"
Twitch does this already, to some extent, and the advertisers will opt to do so for their own interests. However, they don't have much to go on, and it is much more likely, that through the content you watched on Twitch, products you have purchased on Amazon, or what you have viewed on Amazon's Video services, you have told the analytics system, that is used for targeting the advertisements, otherwise.
Ads have to respect the content guidelines and be age appropriate.
In the case of "horror movies", ads will be primarily served to people who have the mature content viewer flag on their accounts enabled, who have watched streams featuring horror games, and those viewers who are known reliably to have watched ESRB rated game content that puts them in an age group for which the advertised content is appropriate under MPAA or TV-PGMB.It is unlikely that this will change.
But you have options:
1. Disable all advertising with a Turbo subscription at https://www.twitch.tv/turbo (you must be signed in with your subscriber account for this to work)
2. Set your advertising preferences at https://www.amazon.com/adprefs
3. Only watch channels who have not set the mature content setting (see https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/what-is-twitch-mature-content ) and content classification labels (see https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/content-classification-labels ) set appropriately, such that the unwanted ad category would be inappropriate. -

Be considerate of people that may be afraid of horror movies and any other similar genre. Kids may be watching too and then this horror ad of insidious just pop scared the heck out of them

It ll be unfair for NOT including only "HORROR" genre in ads.
May be age restriction

Please do not show ads regarding movie trailers of horror movies, every time that trailer about Insidious: The Red Door plays, i get angry and put off by Twitch being ironic to have such a huge T.O.S list but can't think/ be considered of people that have no interest in horror movies
