Allow Skippable Ads
Most of ads should be skippable. Your site is a live streaming platform, you cannot force people to watch ads while they were watching something else that they will completely miss because of ads. Same concept goes for the first AD you are forced to watch as soon as you open one live stream. If im forced to watch something without any possibility to skip unless i close the whole page, i will 100% start hating on the promoted product just beause it is disturbing my plans.
Also giving people the possibility to spam as many ads as they want, looks like a streamer paradise, right, but it became fkn hell for others not streaming and just watching. There are more ads on twitch now than in tv. At this moment, twitch is comparable to any illegal movie streaming platform where they spam 100 ads per second to earn the most possible income. Legit feels the same.
Also. Why do you think youtube lets people ADBLOCK ads, instead of adopting a different system like you are doing here? (yep, ads are impossible to block on twitch)
Because someone just dont want to watch ads end of the story. Not even 1. By forcing people to watch ads no matter what (unless you pay of course) you are willingly pushing a decent slice of audience away from this site, since they just dont have a chance to navigate ads-free.
It might look like a smart idea in short terms since everyone now is obligated to watch the same amount of ads, still, on a long run, you will scare away a decent slice of people just because of this issue.
Remove your stupid in-stream impossible-to-block abusive unskippable ads.
PS. i had to watch the omen desktop ads at least 500 times in the past 2 weeks. I never meant to buy that crap and i never will, so, exactly, how is it effective in any way to keep spamming that sht to me since im obviously not interested, i wonder.
Also, promoters will soon understand how uneffective it actually is to promote stuff here, because of what i just explained, and you will eventually scare away advertisers too.
Also i basically stopped exploring rooms, because now i have to watch a damn AD everytime i close a stream to open another one. It got so boring that i basically stopped searching for rooms and im always watching the same people just to avoid the system triggering new ads.
Was anyone even thinking to all this issues, when you added this ads-system on twitch?
I honestly dont think so.
This is a gigantic mess.

Regarding the comment about being forced to watch ads "unless you pay" - guess what - You are forced to watch ads EVEN IF YOU DO PAY. And when you complain, lazy customer service department makes CUSTOMER do all the work of investigating the problem. Even worse not only do their "solutions"/instructions NOT WORK - they actually mess up your computer. That has been my experience, and now I'll have to pay someone else to make my computer work properly, all because I followed Twitch's instructions. I am beyond disgusted with my Twitch experience.

30 SECONDS ADS =) WHY

This is exactly why I will financially support creators of ad blockers for this money hungry platform that is already making money hand over fist. Absolutely disgusting practices.

I’ve heard feedback from people from other counties saying that they didn’t even knew about ads in twitch, and I also heard content creators say that they barely put ads in their streams; and it’s extremely annoying the amount of ads that I get, for every 10-15 minutes of stream that I watch the third part of it it’s ads, and I get that I get to see ads, but not that absurd amount.

Aaron - You realize that streamers make NOTHING on those ads, right? My highest ad earnings for a MONTH were $2.83, streaming 99h19m over the course of 25 of 31 days. I literally made $2.83 with an average viewers count of 21 (I'm not a huge streamer). That's literally 2.8 cents per hour, with 21 viewers. So around a tenth of a cent per viewer per hour. Literally, one sub is worth more to me than 100 hours of streaming ad revenue with 20+ viewers.

Please be able to skip ads after 5 seconds
You can miss so much from a livestream during an ad where a YouTube video will stay up and does not skip content. Skipping content is terrible and Prime Gaming lost ad-free. I cannot pay for every streamer I watch and do not want to watch smaller streamers due to poor ad handling towards them. -

If you want to support your favorite streamers and you can't subscribe to them then that's okay. But if you sub to at least ONE channel on twitch they're making money off you already and you shouldn't have to watch tons of ads just to see what's on a stream.

I am literally watching more ads on twitch than what is on TV right now. I tried to watch Summit and ever 4 minutes he had 2 minutes of ads. Seriously, I hardly watch twitch now because of all the ads. It is insane, and I have Prime. I wouldn't mind a 15 second ad here or there, but an ad to watch a stream and spending half my watching time on ads is stupid. I do not watch newer streamers anymore because I don't want to watch the ads that pop up. This is like late 90's dialup with all the pop up ads.

Listen. I realize you guys need money. Money is important. But HOLY ******* ****, your streamers need money as well. Nothing turns my attention off more than getting quadruple 30 second ads on an independent streamer who is trying to, for instance, get educational commentary and analysis on a game. This isn’t like ******* football games where the networks and teams can cooperate to have a smooth progression of gameplay, analysis, and ads. It’s really disgraceful and hurts the small streamer market. Either make the ads skippable OR give the streamer more control over when they can dumb ads onto the viewers, it will help their channel and you can still make money because that’s all you greedy corrupt ***** seem to care about nowadays

Ads on youtube are much less intrusive because you can generally skip them after a short time. I go into a twitch stream and have to watch a full 30 second ad then get hit with 4 midroll ads up to 2 minutes, I'm not sticking around. Even on ads I've skipped on youtube, I'm made aware of the product. Watching for a full 30 seconds is not going to make me more likely to buy something.

These ads are absolutely egregious. It's actually even worse than Network Television. It wouldn't be nearly so unbearable if it worked like Youtube and if the break was longer than like 20 seconds, you could choose to skip the ads after about 5 I might consider continuing to use this platform, as is when I go a channel and have to sit through a 30 second commercial realize I'm not actually that eager to be watching this streamer, and go somewhere else, usually off of Twitch.

Why does Twitch have ads? Oh right, because it costs money to run their service, which you expect to use for free. The only thing that's disappointing here is your sense of entitlement, "Disappointed Twitch viewer".
The solution to this is use Twitch Turbo or Twitch Prime.

PLEASE, ad a function that allows the viewers to skip ads after 5-6 seconds. Watching the exact same 30 seconds advertisement 4 to 6 times in a row because of a bad connexion or simply because you switch channel isn't only boring, it is frustrating. I go on twitch less and less as ads are becoming more and more invasive, and while I understand that most streamers are doing what they do for a living, I don't understand the increasing amount of super long ads that I must handle.

Personally I'm fine with it. I don't want to pay, but I want to help out streamers. What point is there for them to stream if there revenue is drastically reduced.

Ads on Twitch, just what we F needed! I hate ads, don't want to see them ever. I have been born in a world full of ads and I can't stand it anymore, stop shoving unwanted shit into my eyes and ears.
