  1. If would be very useful for chat clients or chat overlays to be able to show live updates on these features. Currently they are only available for the broadcaster (redemptions) or not at all through websockets (polls/predictions).

Ideally this would be available for all users to receive, just like chat is (which allows more simple integration into all kinds of tools), but even just mods using third-party moderation tools would already benefit greatly from this.

I included all three of those features, since they all seem to follow the same idea of only allowing the broadcaster access to that information…

  2. The v5 endpoint contains the follower's account creation date, the new endpoint (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-users-follows) does not.

Knowing when a follower created their account is very useful to moderators monitoring recent follows to keep an eye on potentially problematic users (new account could mean a previously banned user returning) or to detect mass follows from bots (which often have a similar account creation date). Monitoring recent follows is especially useful in follow-only chat mode.

While it is possible to get the account creation date from the "Get Users" endpoint (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-users) and then merge it with the follower data,…

  4. With the removal of the Follow Create endpoint.

A "non moderation bot" can no longer be automatically added to a channel.
The owner of the bot would have to "login" to the account and manually follow the channel(s) the bot joins.

A "non moderation" bot doesn't run moderation commands, so giving it "mod" wouldn't make sense. (Which would bypass the follow requirement)

Please provide a way to "authorise adding a bot to a channel" that will auto follow the bot to the channel. For this purpose

This could be similar to how Discord does bots, where to add a bot…

  6. Add an endpoint the returns a list of the latest cheers to a channel. The list should include: username, bits, message and date-time.

  7. Moderators are able to add a reason/description whenever they ban people in chat (/ban [username] reason)

This information is currently only available in the "not allowed to use" GraphQL-api, but should also be added to the documentet endpoints; /moderation/banned and /moderation/banned/events

    (Ban-reason is different from moderator-comments.)

  8. Add a flag, which is true, when a subscription is made through Prime Gaming. Distinguishing between a regular sub and a Prime sub allows us to react differently on these cases, like also being able to promote the free Prime Gaming sub.

  9. For the purposes of GDPR it would be useful to have the following webhooks:

    • When a Streamer installs an extension
    • When a streamer activates an extension
    • When a streamer deactivates an extension
    • When a streamer uninstalls an extension.

The most important one is the uninstall, it allows us the third party to be notified of an uninstalled.

The Shopify platform has this with the rule that a third party should, automatically delete all Store (and that stores customer data) 30 days after that hook triggers.

We need/should do the same, delete any broadcaster, or broadcaster viewer (and subscribers) data 30…

  10. Similar to the Bits Leaderboard, please add a gifted subs leaderboard API, so we can see everyone who has gifted a sub in the channel.

  12. In a similar fashion as

    https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/39228784-extend-clips-api-to-provide-the-mp4-url-so-editors

The Videos API should be extended to provide the (original) VOD to authenticated users where that user is an Editor or better of the channel.

    As in unmuted.

For the purpose of backing up/taking a copy of the Twitch stream and/or taking that content (that the streamer owns) for use on other platforms.

Editors can already do this via the Video Dashboard, so the API should support this also

  13. Right now there is no official way (there is an undocumented endpoint) to determine whether a stream is sub only or not. Subscriber only status prohibits a lot of people from interacting with the stream, so it'd make sense for applications to be aware of such a state.

  14. There needs to be an API that allows for the return of channal analytics.
This would have the reqiured query parameters of: broadcaster_id

Only stating the broadcaster_id could return the following results:
    - Average viewers
    - Total views
    - Average new followers per stream
    - Total followers
    - Average subscribers per stream
    - Total subscribers
    - Average minutes watched per stream
    - Total minutes watched

    It could also return:
    - Best performing catagories
    - Best performing tags

There would idealy also be some optional query parameters: start-date, end-date, time.

Adding the optional query parameters would also add the result:
    -…

  15. Add support to access/query and maybe even create/edit/delete community challenges.

For example to unlock a big "something" in a game, when the community goal has been reached.

  17. Add Broadcaster ID query option to GET https://api.twitch.tv/helix/eventsub/subscriptions so you can query on just broadcaster ID, so I can make sure all their subs are setup, instead of having to paginate through all my subs to check just a handful

  18. I am currently developing a native Android application for Twitch and want to make use of the OAuth2.0 API. Since the Twitch Authorization Server doesn't seem to support the PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange), i will have to put my client secret into my native application, which isn't secure at all, because the app can easily be decompiled.

This is a requirement for all native apps, as stated by the IETF in RFC 7636 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7636).

I hope to see this implemented soon, because this poses a huge security risk for all native apps and their developers.

  20. Hey. I know that people are requesting API for Channel Points. But I came up with better and easier idea.

When streamer creates new reward in dashboard, there should be option to "run a link" in background after reward is redeemed. This type of button will trigger bot with GET-request and bot will run specific action.

Why I think this approach is better than API:
    1. No API on Twitch side, obviosly.
    2. Bots won't be abble to control Channel Points directly.
    3. This will work with any bot who will support this kind of triggers.
    4. Easier to use…
