  2. I was thinking, not all extensions need to be tried to a specific channel experience, and don't always interact with the broadcaster at all. Extensions like the chat translator, or maybe a TTS chat for viewers who can't read well, or visually impared, it would be great to have for users on every channel, not just channels where the broadcaster decides they want to use it. My idea is to have extensions that the view can enable on every channels, and possibly have the panel for viewer extensions be where the chat is, and possibly take up the bottom half…

  3. Currently the rate limit headers "ratelimit-reset", "ratelimit-remaining" and "ratelimit-limit" are not accessible on browser / cors requests due to browser restrictions.
    I request that Twitch adds the "Access-Control-Expose-Headers" header on the helix endpoints so that tools running in a browser can follow the rate limits without guessing if they are still within the limits or having to watch for 429 HTTP codes.

  4. The addition of the Emote Library that is coming soon is a fantastic addition, this is great for solving the issue of disparity between partners and affiliates on emote variety, without undermining the parner program and is a fantastic compromise.

    I would like to suggest the addition to the Twitch API to allow for enabling and disabling of active emotes from the Emote library via a privlaged API call from a token with sufficient privlages through oAUTH.

    An example of the proposed usecase would be 4 API calls:
    -Activate Emote [Params: Emote ID, (Optional: Emote Slot)]
    -Deactivate Emote by ID…

  5. We have bans/timeouts on the bans topic.

    We don't have a feed for message deletions.
    Or whom triggered a raid
    Or whom triggered a host.

    Some channels have a need to track/log all moderator actions for later reconcilliation, not just bans.

    (Or tracking down a rogue mod doing hosts when they shouldn't for example)

  6. A topic to account for emotes being added or remove from "global" or a specific ChannelID would be useful.

    It's hamstrung by

    https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/39547780-emotes-by-channelid

    As we can't catch up

    There are a number of Twitch Extensions that would be good to know if/when emotes change. (HypeMeter for example)

    And Developers of single channel bots will need to know so they can add/remove emotes from any channel commands.

    It's also useful for custom channel tooling to keep lists up to date in custom tooling if/when https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/41137957-upload-emotes is actioned as well

    This includes but is not limited to

    • regular subscriber emotes
    • bits/cheer emotes

  7. Summary:
    From first glance, it would seem that the progress of each channel.hype_train.progress is determined by the contribution; however, there seems to be no way to determine from the single progress event payload to determine by how much it changed. There is a 'total' amount provided by the last_contribution, but this does not determine the progress provided in that event.

    Suggestion:
    Add a 'progress_added' value in the event object indicating how much this one event "helped".

    Related Topics:
    -channel.hype_train.begin
    -channel.hype_train.progress

  8. Now that Twitch is utilizing IGDB instead of Giantbomb.

    Please add the IGDB Game ID to the Helix Fetch Game endpoint.

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-games
    https://api-docs.igdb.com/#game

    Then we can easily lookup a game on Twitch with the game on IGDB without getting lost in search/selecting the wrong one with a similar name

  9. The Helix /moderation/moderators endpoint currently requires an OAuth token from the broadcaster. Given you can just do /mods in any chat (not requiring authorization from the broadcaster), what is the point of requiring the authorization here?

  10. We should be able to CRUD the Role Manager that is in the Streamers Dashboard. This would resolve multiple UserVoice requests including CRUD for VIP, Mod & the Editor migration from v5.

  11. The IRC gateway passes whispers using the WHISPER code:

    [16:36:15] [@] @badges=bits-charity/1;color=#3E2E18;display-name=foo;emotes=;message-id=2;thread-id=21001676_470220570;turbo=0;user-id=2109996;user-type= :foo!foo!foo.twitch.tv WHISPER myuser :this is a whisper

    But I am unable to find any reference to that code on https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/irc/commands where I would expect it, or any other documentation page under the "Chatbots and IRC" section.

    I would suggest adding the WHISPER command to the list of commands at the top of the page on the IRC: Commands section, something similar to:

    WHISPER Receive a Whisper message from another user

    and then the prototype at the bottom, to include the fact that it appears the WHISPER command is…

  14. An update on Jan 31, 2019 gave channel moderators the ability to add comments to users within chat. There is currently no way to use the API to be able to set or retrieve comments for users in chat.

    This should be available to the broadcaster and all moderators within a channel.

    To add a mod comment to a user, the endpoint could take the following data as inputs:
    - User: {user's name}
    - Moderator: {mod's name}
    - Broadcaster: {broadcaster's name}
    - Comment: {comment to be applied}

    On success, this would return the following:
    - Success: {true}
    - date: {date}…

  15. When viewers cheer, they use cheermotes and commonly emotes in their cheer messages. Unfortunately, the payload received from EventSub's channel.cheer callbacks only have the raw text as entered by the user, with no indiciation of which portions of that text are cheermotes nor emotes. Thus, I propose the following update to the callback payload, similar to the channel.subscription.message event, that passes along the data for both so that a consumer of EventSub can reconstruct the message:

    {
        "subscription": {
            ...
        },
        "event": {
            ...
            "message": {
                "text": "Rah Rah Cheer! cheerwhal1 Cheer100 notACheer101 finite6ThrowBall",
                "cheermotes": [
                    {
                        "begin": 16,
                        "end":

  16. Extend the Videos API via a "metadata" endpoint, that provides additional data about the video.

    Including but not limited to

    • Category changes during the video
    • Offsets are relative to the source video that the video is from. So for a highlight it would report the video it was cut from and include where in the origin file the highlight is cut from.

    For Example: https://api.twitch.tv/helix/videos/metadata?id=1234
    Metadata would support up to 100 (or 50) id's at once like Get Videos

    Returns examples

    A video of type archive
    {
    "data": [
    {
    "id": "1234",
    "duration": 18000,
    "chapters": [
    {
    "offset": 0,
    "game…

  17. Extend

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-eventsub-subscriptions

    To add a optional query string param of id to allow developers to lookup a single subscription.

    If a developer stores the ID's when the subs are created, they may want to spot check a single ID's status, or check the settings of it, without having to paginate or manually filter the results returned when using on of the currently offered filter options

  18. Add three topics

    • Raid Begin, a channel started a /raid
    • Raid progress, the number of users in the raid changed (sensibly capped so not too spammy on the webhook, but if socket, more spammy perhaps)
    • Raid End, raid completed or was cancelled.

  19. Brief description

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/authentication/getting-tokens-oauth

    When you get a token, it returns token_type as bearer

    If you take this value as is and call helix endpoints it doesn't work as helix only accepts Bearer

    How to reproduce

    Generate a token
    Construct a header using the returned data by concatenating elements from the returned JSON
    `Authorization: ' . tokentype . ' ' . accesstoken

    Call a helix endpoint
    Get a 401
    Expected behavior

    Twitch accepts Bearer and bearer as valid

    or

    returns Bearer as the token type when fetching a token.

    Additional context or questions

    I'm not sure what the correct…

  20. What's been made available for the events from PubSub is nice, but currently there is no way to know of when a unfulfilled reward has been marked as complete by a Streamer/Mod. Since the event is already well structured, all that would need to be done is simply re-send the same event with the status property updated to reflect that it was fulfilled (either just using the existing "FULFILLED" value or possibly a new value like "MANUALLY FULFILLED").
