How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. In the community guidelines, it's pointed out that streaming under the wrong category is against the rules of the platform as quoted here:
"You are expected to accurately label your content to the best of your ability." (...) "Deliberate or extensive misuse of titles, tags, games/categories, or other metadata are prohibited."
Since sleeping has become a part of the content people are making, a new problem has become apparent. Years ago when the community asked Twitch, which category you could stream sleeping under, the community was told, that you should remove your streaming category when you're asleep on stream.

  3. I would love recommend channels to included lists of accounts I followed on twitter (as example) to show up and be promoted on the site and also have people be able to find my twitch account linked via twitter.

Not only would I like this, I would also love to be able to incorporate my address book as well, find people I already know on twitch via my contacts.

  5. Hey Twitch, how to create a tag that can include everyone and identities? Simple, treat it like Twitter treats hashtags. Customizable, searchable, clickable, and can trend. Two customizable tags to add per stream customizable each stream. With user utilization this can lead to specific areas of creative or terms that harassment trolls won't know offhand but growing communities that band together behind a tag, like groups, but more easy to lead to discovery or search.

  6. the feedback you've received has been almost UNANIMOUS and yet y'all seem eerily quiet so here I am, once again, asking for you to make creative its own category and putting art, music, crafting, etc in it.

  7. As someone who streams on Twitch and also produces videos, a video production/video editing category would be nice to have. I sometimes stream myself in Adobe Premiere Pro, which doesn't have a category. I wouldn't consider the art category because it doesn't 100% fit.

  8. The roleplay community in GTA V on Twitch is taking off, no one can deny that. GTA V was at the absolute top of the game list last night, mostly from RPers.

The problem is that the RP is a completely different experience from vanilla GTA. It would be awesome to see a unique game title for roleplaying in GTA V. Currently many users stumble into a roleplay stream expecting to see heavy PVP and shenanigans due to the bare "GTA V" title. A definitive title for GTA V RP would likely cut that back quite a bit.

  9. Providing 'personal blacklists' would give users the ability to hide content they're sick of seeing and enable for a higher quality browsing of Twitch. This would give users the option to hide content or channels that are purposefully clickbait or channels that they don't want to see reappearing when browsing for a stream. Channels that constantly use all caps in their titles are annoying and we should have the ability to blacklist them for our accounts. Same goes for many of the streamers who have 66% of the screen covered by their face or 'other body parts' and only 33%…

  10. I would like to have an option to clear a VOD from the Continue Watching section in the browser rather than have to wait for it to expire. There have been several instances where I do not desire to continue viewing the content or I cannot view the VOD because it is locked behind a subscriber wall. If the streamer desires to lock the content that is fine but it would be nice to be able to clear those unwanted VOD links and use the space for streams that I actually want to finish watching.

it makes it much easier to search for sport content creators and content.

  12. Please enforce your categories for big streamers! Every week, I look for people streaming Pokemon Sword and Shield, and every week, I end up in streams that are streaming different pokemon games. The biggest perpetrator, SmallAnt, even has a command linking to a clip of why he does it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST5v7-C3iDk . In the clip, he says "basically everyone streams pokemon in this category" so his discoverability is higher, but this hinders the discoverability of people actually playing that game! I report these things everytime I see them, but there is no enforcement. I can't find streamers I am looking for…

  13. Currently, when we hover over the streamers channels online on the left side of the page, we only receive the live name information. My idea is: In addition to receiving the live title, the category, the number of viewers, and the video, similar to what appears on the homepage of the Twitch mobile app, but only when we hover over it.

  14. I know this has been suggested here before, but I'd like to put my take on it. The pokemon categories are kind of screwed up. Firstly, there are no categories for pokemon fan games, which people wind up playing a lot and streaming. Secondly, it doesn't account for people who shiny hunt across multiple games on the same stream. It happens a lot, and ive seen it every time i go on twitch. Thirdly, many of the existing pokemon categories are dead. No one touches them aside from a few brave souls. This leads to my last point. Finally, and…

  15. Add a filter to sort by competitive, casual, variety, speed-runner streamers. Viewers can have an easier time finding what they want and branch out to other similar channels. Streamers can set their own category via the settings menu.

  16. Add the game series as an overall category so that the viewership for individual titles stack.

People could scroll through streamers playing any game in the series. They still have the option to filter out for specific game title in the series.

Many games have several iterations/sequels/remakes, and the viewership gets scattered across twitch. This change would allow the overall category viewership to stack. It also would help reduce redundancy for games that release platinum/directors cut editions and split viewership for essentially the same game.

Game Series Title (view count for entire section)
Next page has all the game title…

  19. Merge "Nioh 2" and "Nioh 2 - The Complete Edition" into one category, because it's the same game. This separation confuses viewers and gamers.
