BUG: Changing username prevents you from being able to write back If someone Whispers to you, but you change your username before replying, you can end up being unable to write back, with a message at the bottom:
"This user has turned on "Block Whispers from Strangers" in their privacy settings and must start a conversation with you first."
Thus, you end up with people writing to you and wanting an answer from you, but you can't write back, even though you should be able to, as they did started the conversation first.

FIX the Autohost system! FIX the Autohost system!
It hasn't been working for MONTHS now. I want to support my friends and my team, and sometimes I'm not able to send a /host to my own channel.

O.o emoticon doesn't work in browser chat Hello, this is a very minor bug but it confused me for a bit.
I was trying to get all of twitch's global emotes using v5 api and emoteset 0, everything seemed fine but I've noticed that this emote [oO](|.)[oO] (regex of course- might want to mention it somewhere in docs) that should match either o.o or oo only shows the emote when typing o_o on browser chat for some reason. Autofocus on Follow/unfollow button It seems that for some reason when you are idle in a stream it is autofocussing on the follow/unfollow button.
This is bad!
No wonder why some ppl unfollow without knowing they did.
Needs fix!

Disable "zero-width-space" in chat As a mod in many streams, I am familiar with the blocked terms.
Lately though, I noticed messages coming through, even though terms are blocked.
The only thing i can think of, is that there are "zero-width-spaces" in between some letters. You cannot see a difference, but there is.
Could it be possible to just don't allow the use of the zero-width-spaces ?
Because the amount of spam accounts coming through once they all use it, is way too high.4 votes -

Ayuda con las transmisiones Uso la plataforma desde mi celular y ahora me pasa que cuando veo algún directo me sale quw ha finalizado la transmisión y vi varias transmisiones y es igual osea yo no los puedo ver pero la gente que esta en directo si los ve y los escucha entonces opté por borrar el caché cerrar la aplicación y entrar denuedo y seguía igual, luego desisnstale la aplicación y la volví a instalar y problema persiste no sé que hacer vi mi problema en videos de yputube y no he visto ningún video que me solucione el problema hasta le pregunte…

link parsing The automatic link parser is rather overzealous. It currently interprets any sequence of alphanumeric characters, a dot/period, and more alphanumeric characters (with no spaces in between) as a link. As a result, any time someone forgets to put a space between two sentences, or deliberately types something like "notbad.jpg", it gets turned into a (broken) link. Furthermore, if the streamer has link filtering turned on, such occurrences will result in the entire message being blocked when there's no actual reason for it to be.
The link parser needs to be smarter. Maybe make it require either two dots/periods with characters…

Blocked users are shown if their messages are pinned I have users blocked yet I can still see their message if themselves as a mod or the streamer pinned their message.
Blocked should not be able to see a user whatsoever, pinned or otherwise. This seems like a major bug in the chat system that to show toxic users which could set people off by seeing their username even just by pinning their username and message. In the terms where the streamer doesn't do anything with toxic users against other users.

Bug: Chat box clash with side panel causing typing backwards There is a bug related to the interaction between Twitch chat and the For You panel.
When some text is typed into the chat box (but enter is not pressed) and the mouse hovers over a channel in the For You panel and then hovers off the channel name, the Text box will resume focus but then any further text being typed will occur in reverse.It may be related to the 'focus-visible' css class being removed from the chatbox element when the channel hover is activated.

Tool Tips Breaking UX The new Tool Tip pop up that has been released site wide breaks all site functionality in Chrome and Firefox whenever a UI element is hovered over. Including emote selection, all chat UI elements, mod tools, channel points, chat identities, or any UI element that has a hover over text pop up effect. Issue can be replicated on multiple systems and multiple browsers. Embedded chat in OBS uses the old tool tips and is unaffected. The Chat Highlight banner hides message content until the user scrolls down, or another message pushes it up When a user that has a chat highlight (Returning Chatter, Suspicious User etc) the message content will be pushed slightly off screen, hidden beneath the "Send a message" box in Mod view. This means that mods have to either manually scroll down the chat to see the message, or wait for another chat message to push it up.
This is particularly an issue if, for example, a suspicious or monitored user says something undesirable that we might miss for longer than we would like to.

z index Just a small visual bug I have encountered in a very specific window size but It could be useful to fix it to prevent future clipping with other elements.
I think the emotes pop z index could be changed up to be the same z-index as other overlays. To prevent it from clipping with other chat elements, currently the stream title

Chat Memory Leak Date observed: 5/5/2022
Twitch chat is causing memory leaks. I only observed this because I was watching a streamer with 100k+ viewers and my computer crashed with 32GB of memory with all other applications closed.
In Dev Tools on a Chromium browser:
- Select "Performance monitor" in Dev tools.
- Observe the JS heap size and the DOM nodes, they progressively increase as chats are sent.
Another way to observe:
- select "Memory" tab in Dev tools.
- Use "Allocation instrumentation on timeline".
- Record and observe the memory allocation.
Note: tested on Edge and Google Chrome with all the extensions turned off.

Chat auto scroll stop for touchscreen input While the auto scroll stop works completely fine by using a Mouse Wheel, it doesn't recognize that I am scrolling by using a touchscreen (tested on windows in a browser)
