stop allowing groups like the adl and destiny from compromising the platform
destiny, who was banned from twitch loves to brigade and spread hate in general. this person along with others like ethan klein caused several middle eastern streamers to get banned for 30 days. now the adl is applying pressure against anti-zionist and pro palestinian sentiment. the adl is in support of an ongoing genocide and shouldn't be trusted. allowing these people and orgs to apply this pressure will compromise the platform.

Hasan Piker banned on Twitch after remarks about Zionism
"You CAN say nazi pig on Twitch, you CAN say Democrat pig, you can say Republican pig, you can say Islamist pig. You CANNOT say zionist pig."
Twitch, however, points to its Terms of Service, stating:
"Similar to other terms that may be used as a proxy for a protected group, we treat ‘Zionists' as a proxy for Jews or Israelis if the word is used in a context to promote harm or violence, or when used to make dehumanizing comparisons or perpetuate antisemitic stereotypes."
stop conflating Zionism and Judaism.
Also stop conflating standing up for Palestine and against the genocide by Israel as anti semitic when Palestinians are Semitic
Semite
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Semite
Semite, obsolete term, popularized in the 19th century, that originally described a member of any people who speak one of the Semitic languages, a family of languages that includes Arabic, Hebrew, Amharic, Aramaic, and Tigrinya, among others. The term was later used in an ethnic sense, even though there has never been a shared Semitic identity among Semitic-speaking peoples.
Semitic languages
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Semitic-languages
Semitic languages, languages that form a branch of the Afro-Asiatic language phylum. Members of the Semitic group are spread throughout North Africa and Southwest Asia and have played preeminent roles in the linguistic and cultural landscape of the Middle East for more than 4,000 years.
In the early 21st century the most important Semitic language, in terms of the number of speakers, was Arabic. Standard Arabic is spoken as a first language by more than 200 million people living in a broad area stretching from the Atlantic coast of northern Africa to western Iran; an additional 250 million people in the region speak Standard Arabic as a secondary language.
Members of the Semitic language family are employed as official administrative languages in a number of states throughout the Middle East and the adjacent areas. Arabic is the official language of Algeria (with Tamazight), Bahrain, Chad (with French), Djibouti (with French), Egypt, Iraq (with Kurdish), Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania (where Arabic, Fula [Fulani], Soninke, and Wolof have the status of national languages), Morocco, Oman, the Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia (with Somali), Sudan (with English), Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
SOOOO Jewish people are not the only Semitic people.
SO Semitic people standing up against A SPECIFIC GROUP of Semites genociding them - isn't anti semitic.
Why are Muslim people not a protected group?
Is it because Islamophobia and America's generalized manufactured consent for the harm of Muslim people? (among other groups of marginalized people)

https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2023/12/21/the-anatomy-of-zionist-genocide
To maintain Israel’s violently oppressive status quo and expand the territory of the settler colony, Zionists opportunistically conflated their colonial ideology with Judaism.
Beyond justifying violent land theft, the conflation of Zionism and Judaism serves to delegitimise Indigenous resistance by equating any criticism of Zionism or Israel’s policies towards the Palestinians as an attack on Jews. Further, it hinders anticolonial resistance by portraying a political struggle over land and resources between occupying settlers backed by imperial forces and an Indigenous-occupied people as a supposed ancient religious “conflict” between equals.

There is one very easy way to solve this, ban political speech on the platform. Yes people have opinions however certain people have continued only getting 24 hour bans instead of longer periods because of what we can only see to be a biased view of the moderator base or potentially the CEO instead.
If you remove political discussion from the platform, you take twitch back to a place where it is gaming or whatever other creativity a user has.
If you cannot remove it, you need to publish how decisions regarding the time periods of bans work. If you have been warned once via a 24 hour ban, you should not be getting another ban for 24 hours, it should be incremental and equal to all others. A breach of TOS should be treated the same across the board unless someone calls for violence, or threatens violence, which should be of a longer ban, or a permanent one.
Your users are screaming at you to take action before the advertisers take away the funding, please listen to us, we are worried and you should be as well.

Stop the increase of Palestinian hate, and attacks on the platform. It's just really sickening to see and it's driving advertisers away in droves. Twitch ad payouts are the lowest they have ever been, even huge streamers are not seeing much in terms of ad revenue payout.
The CEO Dan Clancy, openly allows the double standards in place. Certain streamers can openly glaze, stream, and talk up Zionist propaganda, however other streamers are banned for things tiny in comparison. Honestly, at this point, Twitch, the CEO seem complicit together at this point, and for the average person like me, it's severely off putting.
I'm a normal person, a normal girl, I never would have even found this "user voice," idea threads if I hadn't had such an extreme distaste for what the platform I used to love has become. From a place of community and love to a violent breeding ground of hatred. Now people in the real world are being killed because of the rhetoric, and I sit here and wonder; will it ever change?Over 61,000 to this day.
Stop before it's too late, and almost all your advertisers have left you. Please correct course. Remove CEO Dan Clancy.

Judaism is a religion and cultural identity with ancient roots, while Zionism is a political ideology that focuses on the establishment of a Jewish state in Israel:
Judaism
A global faith with ancient roots that includes a variety of practices and beliefs. Judaism is an inclusive identity that embraces the diversity of Jewish communities around the world.
Zionism
A political ideology that emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Zionism is based on the belief that Jews have a right to self-determination in Palestine and that Israel is the designated homeland for the Jewish people -

Why do a person who’s been banned from the platform for several years, along with people who aren’t even on the platform have so much influence over what happens? None of their motives are out of concern for antisemitism. There also isn’t the same amount of scrutiny for Islamophobia, or people who praise the IOF’s genocidal actions in Gaza.

By continuing to placate organized Islamophobic hate campaigns, Twitch is only injuring their own image, especially when the source of this hate campaign stems from a streamer who was permanently banned from the platform for advocating for the deaths of protestors. These are not the people to bend for. The only purpose they serve is to further discredit Muslim and Arab voices and perpetuate the growing hatred those communities are facing. Bending to the ADL is harmful because it sets a dangerous precedent that you cannot voice dissent against genocide and violence against Muslims without being labeled antisemitic. Banning the word Zionist is dangerous because it is inherently antithetical to the Jewish belief. Do better.

Zionism and Judaism aren’t the same thing. Zionism is a political movement that started in the late 19th century, aiming to establish a Jewish homeland in response to antisemitism. But not all Jewish people are Zionists, and not all Zionists are Jewish. There’s a huge diversity of opinion within the Jewish community—some support Zionism in various forms, while others oppose it, whether for religious, political, or ethical reasons.
Criticizing Zionism isn’t inherently antisemitic because it’s about critiquing a political ideology or the policies of the Israeli government, not attacking Jewish people as a whole. For example, opposing Israeli policies on Palestinian rights is a political stance, not hatred toward Jews. The key is to avoid using antisemitic tropes—like conspiracies about Jewish control—when making those critiques.
At the same time, treating Zionism as some kind of slur or inherently negative label is itself antisemitic. It erases the historical and cultural reasons many Jewish people support Zionism as a response to centuries of persecution and marginalization. Conflating Zionism with all Jews or using it to stigmatize Jewish identity undermines genuine dialogue and perpetuates harmful stereotypes.
Keeping the conversation nuanced and respectful is essential. Not conflating Zionism with all Jews or using it as a slur allows for meaningful discussions about human rights and justice without feeding into prejudice or misunderstanding.
And to add, the people you’re conflating with aren’t just wrong—they’re acting in bad faith. They don’t actually care about this issue beyond using it to push their agenda. The more you concede to their conflations or try to appease their wrongful narratives, the more they’ll shift the goalposts, continually demanding more until they reach their ultimate objective.

It is antisemitic to conflate Judaism with Zionism in this way, where an attack on Zionism is portrayed as an attack on Jews. Not all Jews are Zionist. Being anti-Zionist is not antisemitic. This update to the ToS is antisemitic.

Decrying the tenets of Zionism and denouncing the actions of Zionists is not an attack against Jewish people or Judaism. Zionism is not Judaism, Zionist does not mean Jewish. There are far more non-Jewish Zionists, by several orders of magnitude, than Jewish Zionists.
The conflation of the actions of the Israeli state (including genocide of the Palestinian people, razing of Gaza, violent settlement of the West Bank, unprovoked attacks against sovereign states such as Lebanon and Iran) with Judiasm is anti-Semitic. The conflation of the actions of the Israeli state with all Jewish persons is anti-Semitic.
Calling people out for espousing Zionist propaganda, arguing against Zionist talking points, and denouncing the Israeli government for Zionist extremism is NOT anti-Semitic. It is the just and right thing to do, to stand against apartheid and genocide, even if the propagator of said apartheid and genocide is the Jewish ethno-state of Israel.
The capitulation of Twitch to the demands of groups like the ADL and AIPAC, which are functionally arms of the Israeli state, is a surrender to the weaponization of anti-Semitic propaganda equating Zionism to Judaism. It is absolutely unacceptable and should be reversed immediately.

Platforms teams need to start deciding for themselves where they're going to stand as a community and making those decisions themselves, rather than blindly turning to an organization to do it for them. Twitch especially should not be taking advice on how to run their platform from people that have been banned.
