really didn’t like hearing/reading about this. I am not okay with any platform AUTOMATICALLY opting users in to be trained for ai especially when there probably wouldn’t be sufficient transparency should/when it rolls out. some users are primarily mobile and as someone who uses mobile and desktop I am very aware that there are lots of settings not available for mobile users. As it is the user dashboard/settings - it is hard for people to find things, even bigger streamers who are very on top of their settings. Don’t train ai so they can learn about us and we end up as a data set? our data gets sold to who knows because You as a platform keeps on doing stuff we don’t want because You may or may not be bleeding money? How many marginalized people are on this app? A lot of us can be racially profiled. ICE is running rampant. You barely do anything about racism in general but Anti Black racism specifically, queerphobia, xenophobia, objectification and fetishization of streamers especially Asian and/or femme presenting, ableism, Islamophobia, people conflating criticism of Israel/Genocide/Zionism as antisemitic when Arab speaking people are SEMITIC people, ETC. Twitch gives ads for tracking menstrual cycles and ovulation when You have users in STATES WITH ABORTION BANS. You had kalshi ads. Twitch still has ads about gambling when NO DOUBT You have users who do not need to see that and be tempted. Twitch featured roblox when they have a slew of child abuse cases. Twitch policed people wearing masks at twitch con WHEN COVID IS STILL A THING. Twitch let an Asian woman streamer get assaulted at the con and nothing happened. Twitch was policing people who needed their meds at Twitch con. Chevron was a sponsor and there are tons of reasons why that isn’t great. You don’t do anything about that but You are trying to train ai with our information? Why do You keep making choices that show the lack of ethics? Profit over people. It shouldn’t be profit over people.

Hasan Piker banned on Twitch after remarks about Zionism

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/hasan-piker-banned-on-twitch-after-remarks-about-zionism/ar-AA1VzLUh

"You CAN say nazi pig on Twitch, you CAN say Democrat pig, you can say Republican pig, you can say Islamist pig. You CANNOT say zionist pig."

Twitch, however, points to its Terms of Service, stating:

"Similar to other terms that may be used as a proxy for a protected group, we treat ‘Zionists' as a proxy for Jews or Israelis if the word is used in a context to promote harm or violence, or when used to make dehumanizing comparisons or perpetuate antisemitic stereotypes."

    stop conflating Zionism and Judaism.

Also stop conflating standing up for Palestine and against the genocide by Israel as anti semitic when Palestinians are Semitic

    Semite

    https://www.britannica.com/topic/Semite

Semite, obsolete term, popularized in the 19th century, that originally described a member of any people who speak one of the Semitic languages, a family of languages that includes Arabic, Hebrew, Amharic, Aramaic, and Tigrinya, among others. The term was later used in an ethnic sense, even though there has never been a shared Semitic identity among Semitic-speaking peoples.

    Semitic languages

    https://www.britannica.com/topic/Semitic-languages

Semitic languages, languages that form a branch of the Afro-Asiatic language phylum. Members of the Semitic group are spread throughout North Africa and Southwest Asia and have played preeminent roles in the linguistic and cultural landscape of the Middle East for more than 4,000 years.

In the early 21st century the most important Semitic language, in terms of the number of speakers, was Arabic. Standard Arabic is spoken as a first language by more than 200 million people living in a broad area stretching from the Atlantic coast of northern Africa to western Iran; an additional 250 million people in the region speak Standard Arabic as a secondary language.

Members of the Semitic language family are employed as official administrative languages in a number of states throughout the Middle East and the adjacent areas. Arabic is the official language of Algeria (with Tamazight), Bahrain, Chad (with French), Djibouti (with French), Egypt, Iraq (with Kurdish), Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania (where Arabic, Fula [Fulani], Soninke, and Wolof have the status of national languages), Morocco, Oman, the Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia (with Somali), Sudan (with English), Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

SOOOO Jewish people are not the only Semitic people.

SO Semitic people standing up against A SPECIFIC GROUP of Semites genociding them - isn't anti semitic.

Why are Muslim people not a protected group?

Is it because Islamophobia and America's generalized manufactured consent for the harm of Muslim people? (among other groups of marginalized people)

    also

    The anatomy of Zionist genocide

What are the motivations behind Israel’s genocidal acts in Gaza, and what is the way forward?

    https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2023/12/21/the-anatomy-of-zionist-genocide

To maintain Israel’s violently oppressive status quo and expand the territory of the settler colony, Zionists opportunistically conflated their colonial ideology with Judaism.

Beyond justifying violent land theft, the conflation of Zionism and Judaism serves to delegitimise Indigenous resistance by equating any criticism of Zionism or Israel’s policies towards the Palestinians as an attack on Jews. Further, it hinders anticolonial resistance by portraying a political struggle over land and resources between occupying settlers backed by imperial forces and an Indigenous-occupied people as a supposed ancient religious “conflict” between equals.

    Hey guys!

There were some discussions that weren’t super applicable to feedback and I have gone ahead and removed them.

We super appreciate the feedback and want to keep hearing your ideas. Please just keep it focused on bodypainting/body art community and feedback around that, over feedback on specific channels/users.

If you have anyone who you are concerned about on Twitch or someone who you are worried about how they are acting on Twitch always feel empowered to report them so our team can further investigate the situation.

    Relevant Update  ·  Twitch responded

We’re happy to announce that we have released an additional update to address these concerns. Streamers can now prevent their banned users from watching their livestreams. You can find and turn on this feature in the Moderation settings section of the Creator Dashboard, through the “Stop banned users from viewing stream” toggle.

Please note, this update 1). does not prevent users from watching livestreams from an incognito window or while logged out and 2). does not prevent users from viewing VODs, clips or highlights. We plan to explore extending the functionality of bans further, including but not limited to preventing VOD and clip playback.

In addition, we’ve made an update so that users that are blocked will now automatically be blocked from watching a streamer’s livestreams.

We will leave this thread open for your other points regarding preventing view of other content types and account creation.

    we need to decenter whiteness.

I am sure why this content classification is even a situation, right?

we have to tag our stream as "sensitive social issues" because it's sensitive for the white people who don't like hearing about the realities of existing as a NOT white person?

most of your platform does not exist as a cis, het, rich, abled bodied, neurotypical, land owning white men.

and even the white population on twitch isn't all guys.

There are many queer, disabled, neurodiverse, gender non conforming white people on the platform.

When marginalized people talk about their experience and others try to silence them saying it's too political - it is more about how the marginalized streamer's lived experience is clashing with the reality of the privilege the viewer exist in.

and because of that clash of realities - the backlash happens, the dogpiling, group dms of white men complaining and saying the streamer is just an angry woman when not thinking of ALLLLLL the reasons why a woman may be angry on or offline, mass reporting. Because they can't handle that they the viewer are upholding systems that negatively affects people that don't exist in the same kind of privilege as them.

the fact the viewer probably doesn't have to worry about
    - racial profiling
    - being chased out of a bathroom for not fitting gender norms
    - being punished for accessing abortion
    - existing as a Black person
    - being actively genocided
    - Ableism
    - Asiaphiles
    - Fetishsization/Objectification/Dehumanization
    - Justification of harm
    - ICE Violence
    - Transphobia
    - Islamophobia
    - Xenophobia
    - existing and breathing outside by yourself as a femme presenting person
    - being stalked and assaulted because people feel entitled to your body/person
    - being doxxed because people get mad at You when talking about real lived experiences that clash with the viewer's perception of reality and are deemed "too political"
    etc.

    as per the content classification
"Discussions or debates about politics or sensitive social issues such as elections, civic integrity, military conflict, and civil rights in a polarizing manner."

WILD how anyone talking about their human or civic rights or the lacktherof might be considered polarizing. It's only sensitive or polarizing for those who believe some people deserve human rights and to be treated as whole human beings and some people are discardable or not even worthy of humanity.

I live in a state that has voter suppression, abortion bans, and is pressing AGAIN to fight against section 504 which is important for ALL of us, not just disabled people. I think all of us should be able to exist and have rights and be seen as whole human beings and I KNOW how unpopular that is. Because I AM VERY UNPOPULAR.

It is one thing to not be in the mental state to deal with it because maybe you have a whole lot of other trauma happening to process - like your family being indiscriminately murdered by state sanctioned violence - but just calling social issues "sensitive" seems to protecting people who don't want to acknowledge it happening or want to deny their role in it on and/or offline.

    ANYWAY

while we are here in this era of racial profiling and ICE detention/violence

I agree. I was going through the only two I have done and digging in my email for some kind of confirmation.

Also an "end" button would make this feel less unfinished/on hiatus even though we probably know it is done. In this era of multiple covid infections and mass brain fog I think the more reassurances we have the better so we aren't quick to gaslight ourselves.

In the dashboard it says "Donations are typically tax deductible in the US, and donors will be emailed an official donation receipt issued by PPGF for their records,"

but if I am the one holding the charity stream and not donating - I won't receive an email from PPGF.

I want an invoice of completion in my Twitch dashboard, showing that the money went to PPGF, showing the amount of fees taken out and the net amount, and showing the net amount went to it's final destination with a timestamp so I can be confident the charity got their money without asking viewers, who might only be there for the charity and not me, if they received a confirmation email from PPGF.

Seeing what happened with Ironmouse and Vshojo it makes me uneasy and not trusting of Twitch if there is intentional lack of transparency.

Either it is intentional lack of transparency OR it was never even considered in the first place as something that should be implemented banking on unquestioned trust from creators on Twitch. Both are bad.

Especially since it is PayPal and the cut still happens (PPGF receives donations minus payment processing fees of 1.80% + $0.05 to 3.30% + $0.05.) so it isn't the full amount that was raised on stream. I would want to know the actual final amount donated after fees, date and timestamp.

    I want peace of mind.

I am a small creator, highly unpopular because I am a conventionally attractive Asian woman who talks about politics and social issues and doesn't play into stereotypes. When I choose a charity I choose not mainstream ones because at the end of the day direct mutual aid will go farther than donating through organizations with huge overhead and staff to pay first before they actually have any of the money help anyone.

I want to be sure these organizations receive their money.

I haven't done or planned for another charity stream via twitch because it is still either start or resume and no invoice at the end for the streamer.
