Sensitive social issues Bullet points need to be removed, not 'clarified'
it doesn't matter how much you 'clarify' the point of the final two bullets, they are not fit for the political category especially when contrasted with the other things in the category. Putting peoples rights in there opens up marginalized groups to hate and bigotry. We want the points REMOVED and twitch's response is completely missing the point the community has been making.
At what point does something go from 'personal experience' to 'too political'? if a streamer talks about their own right to an abortion being taken away where they live, is that personal experience or political? it is entirely subjective. Is a trans person talking about their experiences with HRT 'fact based'? Who determines this? The bigots who will undoubtedly mass report said streamers to shut them up?
"intermittent mentions of (...) sensitive social issues are not required to have the politics and sensitive social issues label" how long is intermittent? most streamers i watch like to have small conversations with chat about social issues, how long can these chats go on for?
I don't understand why you refuse to just take out the 'Sensitive social issues' point. It's what the user base is asking you to do and it is the right thing to do.

Twitch needs to understand that all this does is give hateful people more weapons to harass members of the LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities and simply telling us that we’re wrong for thinking that isn’t going to work

You have made a grave mistake by doing this. You have essentially told marginalized people they are a political topic. Do you think these people would have to worry about this on Kick, or Youtube? If Bluesky has taught us anything it's that consumers WILL drop you if your product sucks.

Question for you twitch, who do you think considers marginalized people's existence as sensitive social issues exactly? I'm gonna give you a wild ******* guess, if you can't fill in the blanks, then there's no ******* hope. Remove this ******* policy if you have any good sense left.

It doesn't matter if you "clarify" your discrimination of a demographic its still targeted dehumanization of that group that can and will be weaponized by bad actors. Its nearly 2025 advertisers shouldn't be able to control if entire swaths of humanity are treated as second class. If they can't do that much than refuse to advertise their products, even make a public list of the companies demanding this so people can boycott them for their queerphobia (and misogyny).
Conforming to abusive demands that hurts your employees will only kill your service in the long run, Twitch. -

A lot of people are using the LGBTQIA+ discussion point to explain the issue, but I want to add that this applies for every marginalisation - race, disability, mental health status, nationality & ethnicity, socio-economic status...
If I run a charity/mutual aid stream, by the nature of society it is considered political because that charity/mutual aid is trying to solve a problem magnified by politics.
It's also really really important to witness who is actually concerned about this section of the new rules, because these are the people who will be penalised by the inclusion and enforcement of the change. Further forcing marginalised identities to be exceptions in the greater Twitch society rather than the majority and common denominator of the greater Twitch society is continuing to supress marginalised people.
We've already seen Twitch systems flag streams of marginalised folks under these new guidelines that don't warrant flagging. This vague change does not remove that risk. Please remove that entire section from the classification guidelines

The clarifications you gave weren’t enough. It changes nothing on the impact having such a community label. The only way to correct this is to remove the community label entirely.

The clarification still leaves it too vague, so how do we trust Twitch to not abuse it? How do we know what Twitch counts as “personal experience”? What counts as “intermittent” for mentioning such topics? What about the experiences of friends or family? Does that count as personal? Vague guidelines lead to abuse. Plus, politicising living, present day human beings is never a good look.
The only thing that is definitely clear enough here is Jeff Bozos's intentions with the platforms he owns. -

These NEED to be removed. I do not feel safe streaming or watching with this in the guidelines. Nothing about LGBTQIA+ identities or the discussion thereof is political. It should never be. We are people, not a charged talking point.

You are politicizing LGBTQIA+ people and talking points. You and the cretins who preach violence, ignorance, lies and hated.
The only reason this is political is because knuckle draggers, who don't want to understand anyone who is different than them, do not want to be confronted by something they choose to not understand. It's "political" because they don't think the rights of their fellow human beings, who choose to live life differently then they do, should be stripped away because how dare someone who is a man loves a man, or someone who was born with a ****** chooses to be male, or vice versa.
These people are obsessed with who other people kiss and love, they are obsessed with what pair of genitals are in someone pants, they are obsessed with trying to make everything and everyone they don't like, a political issue so they can exert control over others because they are sad, pathetic, and scared of a world that doesn't choose to bend the knee to them.
The choice to leave these bullet points is, at BEST, completely immoral and reductionist of LGBTQIA+ individuals, their lives, and their experiences. They are not second class citizens, they are not political tools.
They are people.
This is no different than politicizing language, or race. You are giving a voice to people who want to take it away from others.
I'm done pretending like we need to hear both sides. One side asks for basic ******* human rights, the other asks for them to be put to death. This is one of the most black and white issues you could ever see, and you are actively choosing to be on the wrong side of history. -

Getting real tired of twitch trying to pat us on the head and shut us up. These bullet points even existing puts us all at risk.

So they say I can briefly discuss being queer and gender-nonconforming, but the moment I express concern about my rights being removed, or encouraging people to vote against candidates who want to harm me, or if I argue that I deserve rights to begin with, then that is "sensitive"? Then that is *censorable?* Then that needs to have a shield put up to protect the poor, sensitive advertisers? I think not. Try again, Twitch. Do better.

The twitch moderators keep locking these polls when they get high enough and then responding with some mansplaning post that they try to justify their bigotry with on twitter which they hope we don't go over and read that knowing that twitter is attacking trans people as well. They're not learning they're repeating bigoted mistakes of Musk.

Yes! It absolutely needs to be removed. LGBT+ rights shouldn’t be “disturbing” or “political” when there are actual living people being harassed for being in this category. Purely because of hate or bigotry.
No bullet point is far better than what we have before this title and rule change. LGBT + community ain’t going anywhere without this proposed change.
Please remove that bullet point.

Pretty disappointed in this whole policy honestly. Marking LGBTQIA+ topics as controversial does nothing but give hateful bigots a foot in the door on the platform. Twitch needs to be a place where all creators feel like they can be themselves, create content that's important to them, and not have to worry about transphobic or homophobic jerks being able to drive them off the platform. They also shouldn't be allowing their advertising partners to discriminate against these people. Twitch needs to look at what happened to Twitter very carefully, there will be other platforms that take Twitch's place if they start implementing discriminatory policies against creators.

It really shouldn't be there at all. It validates people who think being marginalized should be censored, hidden away, or removed. These shouldnt be big talking points and the reason they are is because of bigots who don't want certain people to be alive, yet the burden gets put on the victims of the bigotry.

I'm very disappointed that Twitch is so resistant to just walking this back. We all know that it's just going to be used to disproportionately target vulnerable streamers.
