Loophole in Reporting Inappropriate Employee Behavior
There is a major loophole in your reporting system that allows Safety Operations Specialist abusing their position, to go unreported and unbanned, leaving female streamers vulnerable. If/when a team member asks a female streamer for inappropriate photos or comments on her body or makes claims to other chatters that he is dating her and planning to "hook up" with her, there needs to be a way to report this. OSIT will not handle it per their own reply via email and when the employee was told no and then the streamer spoke up, he permabanned her, despite her gaming and following ToS. Because of this, she can not report the employee, OSIT linked her to how to report, but she can't since he permabanned her. He was fired (though he is allowed to stream on your platform still and still claims he's an employee in his title but lost his badge) and yet she is still banned, all because she tried to do the right thing and has not been able to contact anyone. He has since been harassing her off platform (and on before he banned her) all because she said no. There needs to be a department or method for reporting employees who sexually harass streamers.
Hi Farrah, thank you for sharing this.
I'm very sorry about the uncomfortable situation your friend was put through - while it's true that the best path to report anyone, including employees, is through the onsite tool, it is definitely good feedback for situations that happen like this.
In the meantime, please have your friend appeal her suspension through the appeals portal: https://appeals.twitch.tv/. She can provide the details of the situation so that the team can investigate and take action where needed.
I'm going to close this request, but I have raised this situation and feedback internally with the respective team for review.
