Hate Raids and how to do better
First off I wanna thank RekItRaven for Shedding so much light on this issue that has been occurring for years. I have just started streaming 8 months ago and this is my 4th time this year getting hate raided. I’ve been called almost everything in the book. Now I have several ideas on how to make this better but for starters. You Need to obey the Blocked/Banned Order. Anyone who is Blocked Or Banned should not be able to Hate watch us thus risking another hate raid whether that be in the form of bullying or racism. 2. Have Better & Faster Reaction time. There is no reason why we should have to start an entire movement to get your attention. I know you see the reports on these accounts/issues and they should not be ignored. You built a community where you wanted people to come together as a team, to be able to stream while they are in a comfortable and established environment. So far you have not practiced what you preached. You focus more on hot tub streamers getting what they want than Black/POC/LBGTQA+ creators feeling safe in the comfort of their own homes which is frightening to me. Please just do better that’s all

Please work on moderating hate raids, especially for trans streamers.

They're running out of time to do better concerning this situation. It's unfortunate that the personal bias of the twitch staff members are coming out regarding this issue. If there were hate groups that targeted White people, twitch would make it it's TOP priority, why because majority of the twitch staff is White. They are showing us with "action" how much they care about the situation. Even by purposely ignoring us, on here and on twitter in comments. They are always trying to over look the truth right in there faces, until things are at a point of no return. We shouldn't have to deal with being called hateful things, yes we can try to remain positive through it, but the fact that it even makes it into the chat is what there is no excuses of. How can a spammer/hate raiders computer system work better than twitch's when they make millions annually. It's bs at this point in my opinion. Actions speak louder.

I just had to deal with a hate raid myself. I believe the issue lies in how easy it is to create multiple accounts. There is no robot captcha when creating accounts, hence this can easily be scripted. If an account gets banned then one can quite easily create a new account to ban evade.
I for one believe that this needs to be handled at the account creation stage.
I have two ideas for this:
1. It is absolutely critical that there is a robot captcha when creating accounts to stop automated scripts creating multiple accounts.
2. When a user is creating an account then they need to activate 2FA using a mobile number.
This not only achieves better account security but also hinders the ability to create 1,000s of accounts if the mobile number is unique to that account.
No amount of filtering is going to stop the hate raids as they always change the message to bypass any filters that are in place. They can do anything once they have 1,000s of bots ready to go.
Here is a tweet demonstrating how easy it is to create fake accounts: https://twitter.com/Cosmic_Ovrthnkr/status/1428860663259176966
