Disable Follow on a Channel when being Follow-botted
Hello,
Being follow-botted in a stream is not something that is pleasant when the streamer wants authentic following.
When this happens, there is no way to stop it. Streamers wishing to remove these fake followers must manually remove them.
This burden can be lightened if there would be a way in the Twitch channel / live settings to block the Follow feature for some time and unblock it later.
This feature request will help streamers block these follow-bot attacks and help them retake control of their stream.

As someone who's been follow botted twice, I'm upvoting this. There ARE 3rd party tools to help clean up the bots as they're coming in, but I'm genuinely surprised this isn't a feature built into Twitch itself.

Follower usernames are now used as a form of harassment. If you're looking for evidence first before implementing this protection, then you're not understanding the environment here, and therefore should just pass the torch onto someone else please. Thanks.

This happened last night. I hadn't tried shield mode and was surprised there was no turn off follows, only the alerts

Very true and sometimes i see over 1k people watching a streamer and only 5 people are talking, sounds fishy to me

could twitch potentially ban you if someone else gives you bot followers to sabotage ?

I would vote to give streamers a "verified account" follower option. At least it would add a small layer of protection. I have been bot-followed with some pretty insulting and embarrasing names.

There shouldn't be hate no matter what the situation is

I had someone make some very transphobic comments, announce I was getting botted, and the had my channel follow botted for 12 hours last night, even after ending stream. This should absolutely be a feature added to shield mode.

I've been followed botted twice, so honestly this will be a great solution to deter at least follow bots from happening at least in shield mode. It can be very discouraging.

I partly agree.
It's smarter to temporarily withhold following and then approve new true followers when they arrive. The feature ensures that new followers don't grow without approval. Most follower bots don't write themselves, and true followers will greet you in chat. The feature also works when follows come in offline.

This should be added to shield mode and rejected followers could be given an error or something relevant, prevent them from following for 24h or something
Maybe more settings for how shield engages?

This is insane that the "confirmed account" is not an option for following, we are in 2022 and this feature still not here.
