Mature Audience Only
Is there a better way to filter or make sure that if I have my channel in Mature Audience only, that it is understood? Like can we have a little rating setting we can place or have it be better defined in the Topic/Category settings for streams? As well as if there is a way we can make sure it keeps the chat/audience of age?

I do not stream for minors. I make content for people hopefully around my age or 10 years younger. I am in my 30s, and I do not stream to babysit. I'd consider my streams like letting your kids watch southpark. Just because I use an animated avatar, doesn't mean that's who I choose to influence. I'm also transgender, so I do not want some yank karen from florida trying to say I made their kid start hormones or something just because they watch me, even if I rarely explicitly state I am trans. This site has been a nice hobby for a while now, but the moment twitch makes me unsafe by not allowing me to put a content warning up manually, is the moment I stop allowing them to make money off of me.
Please bring back the ability to assign a mature rating to my stream.

So I think this should be added because I think every streamer should have a say on who comes into there channel and how old there are.

Twitch needs a better way to keep minors out of 18+ content. Why should I be punished for a minor jumping into a 18+ content when it's clearly on my settings plus title that it's 18+.
In the settings I have mine set to mature audience but still getting minors showing up.
They need a Age Verification or something to make it harder for them to watch 18+ content.

18+ tags are almost a necessity

By not have this option streamer have no say what age there community is.

We need more Mature aged controls in our streams. If someone's account is under a specific age then they should not be allowed to enter a mature age stream. No button, just unable to watch. If a streamer then streams in the wrong age group it becomes the streamers problem. If someone lies about their age then it's on their parents. Currently people can press ok with no issue and when the angry parents come with pitchforks we all lose our livelihood

I kind of support this too. Or at least make an adult section where only people with verified IDs can access and move all risky content like Hot tub, bikini workouts there. Then you can also allow nudity/half nudity just within this section so creative artists which like to do some nude studies etc are allowed to stream this under verified ID section. Also some games from the "not allowed" list can then be allowed under this section only. Also bodypainting could be shifted there when the upper body part is naked.
Hear me out from an eoconomic view this would benefit twitch too, first: as the rest of the platform is safe for minors (nobody has to worry their parents will lock their access because of easy **** content availability.
Second: Advertisers will be more open to advertise on your platform as you can make advertising contracts just for the verified adult section (like **** underwar or whatsoever) and advertising contracts just for the open twitch section. No big Brand will advertise on a platform where they might have their adverts shown next to a hot tub stream. -

I fully agree and support this ideal as i've done a few streams where i've had to cut short or fully modify how i am as i felt bad for being my actual self when a random 14 year old pops in after simply clicking the mature content warning away.....

I'm not a fan of the current way Twitch has it setup for Mature Streams that are marked for +18 Mature, a click of a button shouldn't just automatically grant whoever to watch those types of streams, and so what I propose is a Age Verification system to verify those users are of age before being allowed to watch those streams by using a Digital ID Age Verification system. This would not only properly protect minors and prevent them from watching stuff they shouldn't, but also adult streamers as well.
A simple age verification check would make it so that people who are allowed to watch mature content are allowed, and those who aren't are kept out, clicking a button on a stream when warned about mature content doesn't seem like enough effort, and somewhat lazy. But it should be a one-time verification thing that ties with the users account after verifying their age. And no it's not private sensitive information that will be shown or available to streamers themselves, but only by Twitch itself and the ID system who can only see this information. The ID system would also have to make checks that they're verifying a real person and not a generated bot in order to fool the system with fake information.
There are third-party ID verification systems like Passbase which can automate ID verification and age verification process.
