Musical extension to limit DMCA problems
The musical atmosphere being an important part for the creation of content on the platform, and to limit future problems with the DMCA as we can see now.
I propose an extension (or a feature) in partnership with the main music streaming software that would allow music to be broadcast directly on the live page and not integrated into the video stream.
If we take the example of Spotify, having to link its twitch page with spotify so that the viewers can hear the music we add to our stream in real time
And of course find a way for the music to be broadcast in the headphones of the streamer without it being picked up by the streaming software in a simple way (with audio channel management)
This would simply allow music to be streamed without copyright issues knowing that users would listen to them directly via partner streaming platforms.

I often think about how to improve my business, make my workflow more automated. Now I try to use various document templates that are freely available here https://www.pandadoc.com/new-york-nda-template/ . It's amazing how much time this saves me. I think this is a very good help for those business owners who want to do more.

I know this post hasn't had a comment in a while but I just came across it. Have you guys tried out Soundtrack by Twitch? All DMCA free and can be separated from VLODs automatically. I found it a couple of months ago by accident and is still in Beta as an app on your PC. It has some good music on there! would love to see it expanded (even at a low fee sub) to have access additionally to music from a great range of artists available. The streamer's dmca free version of Spotify in the near future possibly?

That's exactly what I was thinking about. Streamers play music from their own PCs so music can't be seperated from their screens, cams and mics. However, it would be better if they play the music via such an extension instead of playing them from their PCs. So the music is added separately to the stream and can be separated. In this way, we become more free. For example, the streamer is running a playlist via this extension. Some viewers may not like the music playing and they turn the volume down or turn it off completely then turn it back on. Or there are those who don't want any music, and they turn it off completely and focus on the stream. Another possibility is that the streamer plays a music for its viewers, but doesn't listen to it himself/herself.
It is also effective on copyright. Since stream and music are separate, music can be extracted from replays and clips. In this way, there is no copyright problem. Everyone will be happy.

i just don't get why if playing a youtube vid or song is getting DMCA strikes that we can't just include every viewer watching the stream in giving the youtube link a view while its happening. Through some extension for twitch if you are going to show a youtube link on your stream. If it is the artists youtube channel the song is coming from, then just have a twitch extension that makes the viewers give the link a view, for however long it takes to count as what DMCA wants for the actual artists viewership on youtube, whole song or just 5 seconds i wouldn't know

there is something that should be analyzed urgently, when using the soundtrack by twitch where we are supposed to be safe from copyright I have videos that are silenced and when I use spotify with playlists without copyrights I am never silenced, which is happening with the soundtrack by twitch?

I had the same Idea, baisicly a extension which syncs the spotify or amazon music playlist/song to the one of the Streamer. The best part is, people who dislike the music can mute or people who cry about music being to loud can make it louder or quiter. The music will be played only privatly on the users pc were he payed for it so it shouldnt affect dmca. I would be down to help develop something like this.

I started writing such an extension a while back but aimed for Amazon music, they haven't exposed their API to allow this sort of thing yet. Youtube music, no chance, spotify could be a possibility though. I haven't invested much more time on this because I don't have a spotify account :D

Something needs to be done about this. I'm getting claims of music from some of the games I stream. I think that if a creator makes his or her music available in a game, it should be fair use as it is part of the game's experience.
I also sometimes get ridiculous claims. Recently I got a claim that music from the game I'm playing is from a movie based on the game. Despite the game coming first.

If you haven’t seen it already, there’s an Amazon Music extension: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/amazon-music?language=en_US
It requires:
- Streamer to have Prime or Amazon Unlimited subscription
- Viewers to have Prime or Amazon Unlimited subscription
- Streamer to set up audio cables so only they can hear the music
- Viewers to sign into their Amazon account via the extensionOnce that’s all set up, it becomes pretty much a “Watch Party” (similar to Netflix watch party or Hulu watch party or Prime Video watch party), where each participant has their own subscription but one person is in charge of the synchronization for everyone.

Agree - this was something I thought of too - get your Business development/partnership people tow ork with Spotify so that each concurrent viewer counts as a play on spotify, and have the streamer forceably sign up for a Spotify "streamer" subscription which can then distribute the play number payment directly to Spotify as a "streamer played" song.
Benefits:
- Uses Spotify license for music
- Drives revenue to Spotify through a 'streamer license'
- maintains good content on Twitch which has music
- Justifies bans on channels which are playing without said licenseCons:
- Revenue from spotify to music companies may not be enough from streamer license alone (negotiation won't be easy) - Potentially use Twitch as a massive platform for Spotify events
- Investment in extension/upkeep to ensure results are accurately being sent to Spotify
- Might require RIAA as 3rd party negotiationsOther considerations:
- You have the capability of doing sub only streams, and squad stream which is taking two streams of a stream key and applying them to a twitch link. Why not take a stream key tied to the user spotify license, and within the extension link to viewer's spotify and simply make it only play music through the users spotify, at the same time as the streamer. The vod itself then wouldn't have music, but the users can listen to the same songs, via Spotify, as the streamer but record on a separate track, via separate stream key. -

I thought of this too. It should be incorporated through Amazon's music service similar to Watch Parties, but with music.

I had an idea regarding the whole DMCA situation going on at the moment. The main portion of the problem is broadcasting music that is copyrighted, however if streamers didn't broadcast music but broadcasted the song name, timestamp etc, at any given time and users could access the given song on their own devices via a browser extension using youtube or spotify API. Just an idea I had was also wondering if this would be a work around the whole situation.

My idea is to help content creators by stopping their channels getting copy write/DMCA strikes and muted VOD's.
The base idea is that no music will be broadcast from the stream, instead the stream will have an extension to music providers such as Amazon music, Spotify and YouTube Music.
When the viewer uses the extension they will be given a copy/paste link that can be used on the music streaming service which will allow them to listen to whatever music the streamer is currently listening to.This would work like a radio station that the streamer has full control over, the viewer can only listen and adjust volume ect. This is a win win solution that would work for all. Also this gives the viewer the option to not hear any music while watching their favorite streamer/game.
This also has monetary gains for Twitch and the music streaming services used and ultimately the music creators since it wouldn't be a streamer playing music to 30,000 viewers but 30,000 people using the music streaming site.
I'm not in any way an expert on this stuff so please don't roast me too much if my idea is wrong in any way. ?
