"/modchat" as a mod it would be helpful if i could talk to all the other mods without having to whisper them each individually once by one.....all we would have to do is type "/modchat <message>" and it would show up in chat like the ban, timeout, purge messages do. All mods can communicate without the rest of chat seeing it. Also, they can be pinned for important channel stuff like in discord, so any mod coming into chat can see what's new or changed with regards to the stream rules and such

(Visually) Disable Moderator Badge Users are able to hide specific badges already (Twitch Prime, Turbo, Bits, ...) but what about Moderator Badges?
The reason for this suggestion:
In smaller streams (new) chatters might get scared if moderators post messages. So I see 2 potential ways this could be achieved:
- Only visually disable the mod badge (keeping the moderation actions in-tact)
- Allow moderator to go into "non-moderation mode" - in this mode, the moderation actions are not available and they are like a normal chatter
In both cases moderators should still show up in the Moderator List (/mods).
Recently Twitch added a "Mod View" into…

Allow mods to see a users name history Would like a way to natively see a users name change history including date & time of change.
Maybe even first & last message history for each username changeFor example:

Add option to require mod approval for the initial message of any first-time chatter Given the existing infrastructure behind the (1) first-time chat callout experiment, (2) non-mod chat delay, and (3) automod caught message queue:
There should be a toggleable setting where the initial message of any newcomer to chat must be approved by a moderator for that and any subsequent messages to appear to non-mods. Thus, this would limit the ability of newcomers to send messages without prior approval.
Not only would this reduce how many eyes see hateful messages from human accounts, it would neutralize spambots from having their messages show up to non-mods -- a useful step in responding to the…

Let mods send highlighted messages for free The new channel points are pretty fun, and the ability to highlight messages is great. I'm using it frequently when moderating to make sure all the users see certain messages (like instructions on how to vote on something, announcing that the streamer will be right back, reminders about backseating not being allowed, etc).
It would be nice if it didn't cost any points for us mods to use that feature though, because there are situations where we might need to use it but don't have enough points available. Alternatively, add another similar feature available for mods only that isn't dependent…

Mobile Moderation Moderators on the browser and desktop versions of twitch have incredible access to moderation tools such as mod icons, mod view etc. this makes handling larger chat rooms incredibly easy for a group of mods working together.
Unfortunately I, like many others, am in a position where I am a mod for a larger community, yet am often on the go and find myself using mobile twitch far more often than desktop. This makes it so much harder to keep chat under control, as the current moderation process on mobile is utterly laughable. Messages that would be deleted instantly if…

Ban Tools Would be great if stream teams and streamers can share banned users with other streamers.
IE Streamer one has a offensive troll in their chat who gets banned. The streamer could have a option after or during the stream to share the ban with other streamers who are friends or in the same stream team.
Example
Streamer 1 bans "user 1" from their chat due to offensive or disturbing behaviour. Streamer 1 can then share that ban with a created "friends streamer list" where by they can say, user 1 was banned in my chat due to the following, please…76 votes -
Give Mods an "Emergency Brake" to stop the stream Occasionally, streamers accidentally leave their streams on with a hot mic and even cam. During this, streamers can unintentionally reveal embarrassing and inappropriate things on-air without their knowledge with mods only being able to host another streamer as their only tool to stop the damage. Unfortunately, those watching outside their browser can be unaffected by hosting and still be watching the stream. I think these incidents can remedied and prevented by giving mods a sort of "Emergency Brake" to stop the stream. I believe this function should be optional for safety reasons so that the streamer can decide for themselves…

Twitch should allow mods and streamers to repop up the chat Rules for certain user to remind them if they didn't respect it. Twitch should allow mods and streamers to repop up the chat Rules for certain user to remind them if they didn't respect it.

Suspicious User Controls tweaking The TL;DR - allow the option to turn off the highlighting of restricted and monitored users, while still having their messages viewable in the suspicious user activity widget.
The new "Suspicious User Controls" feature, while having a lot of potential, currently works in a very counter-productive way. "Restricted" users are notified that they are being restricted, however their messages still show up on both the broadcaster and moderators vision - with an additional highlight. For automatically flagged users this makes sense, but whats the point of manually restricting an account when you could just ban them instead?
This feature would…32 votes -

Permit Users in chat Having the ability to easily and quickly permit links from users would be a great help. Most of us use bots like Nightbot, Moobot, Streamlabs/Elemets to deal with links in chat we don't want and auto block them but with BTTV we were able to click on a user name and clikc !permit for that user.
My idea is that either add that feature to Mod View when we clikc a name or better yet, force Auto Mod to grab the links first and then allow mods to permit it if we so desire. This then give the user who…

Automatically stop chat scrolling when mod icons are hovered I sometimes accidentally delete the wrong message through the mod icon when the chat scrolls up one message right before I click. I think stopping the chat for a mod when he hovers a mod icon for a specific message would improve the modding experience.

A Banned Names list that mods can add to as easily as the Blocked Terms list. This would make it possible to pre-emptively ban someone with an offensive username.
It also means that when you get a large number of bots with similar usernames turn up, e.g. Troll1, Troll2, Troll3, etc., adding Troll* to the Banned Names list would stop all variations from posting. But also with an option to ban usernames containing certain terms.

Add a option for mods to delete their own messages. When the streamer is trying to do something and you post something you wanna delete you cant delete it yourself if ur a mod so Could you guys add it?

Allow Mods & Streamers to view Other Channel Bans of User Allowing Mods and Creators to view if a user has been banned from other channels.
Also updating the Ban function to require a reason for Ban. Just a check list.e.g. if someone comes into my channel that has been banned from another channel i can see that they have been banned for Harassment or Spamming
Will allow Mods to keep an eye on users bouncing from channel to channel

Add chat moderation tools to mitigate serial ban evaders Sometimes the chat experience is impaired by trolls continually and relentlessly creating/using additional alternative accounts to repeatedly circumvent any ban, return to chat, and continue spamming or harassing the channel.
I suggest that Twitch provide an additional set of moderation commands, capabilities, and information in the chat-related APIs and IRC interfaces to assist broadcasters and their channel bots to control abuse in these types of situations.
Some ideas for suggested channel Moderator Commands/Options to Add:
- "Approved" chatters list - A List/Hash table of unlimited size for any users manually approved by a moderator to chat plus a list of all…

Improvements to monitor and restrict tools for general use I really like the new monitor and restrict tools introduced today for ban evasion detection! I did some testing of using monitor and restrict for general moderation, and there are three improvements that would dramatically improve their usability and impacts:
Please add the ability to add a reason for monitoring a user's messages, the same way that /timeout and /ban have a [reason] field. This will let other mods know what kind of monitoring they should be doing. An example for how I would like to use this is: a user who is toeing the lines of rules in the…
