  1. Some lesser played games don't have an icon, a streamer should be able to submit an icon to Twitch after streaming the game for a certain amount of time.

    Hey there!
    By icons, do you mean the (game) box arts/covers?

    If so, we have plans to improve coverage of those on Twitch via IGDB covers, but also eventually help streamers and viewers add to those on IGDB.

    Thanks!

  2. By showing the version title, it would be easier to know which version is which for games with the same name in different versions. It could be shown in front of the release date.

  4. The game bundle SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics (https://www.igdb.com/games/sega-mega-drive-and-genesis-classics) contains a large amount of games on the webpage, but in the API only one game is returned, sonic:

  5. The element used for browsing lists of games that fit a certain page’s criteria (e.g. game engine pages, category/keyword pages, franchise pages) sometimes does not display the pagination, preventing users from seeing any games beyond the first 10 shown. Changing the sort mode can allow you to see a different slice of 10 games, thus verifying that there should be additional pages visible.

    some examples:

    https://www.igdb.com/game_engines/pico-8

    Heya! Indeed definitely a bug, we’ve added this into our backlog and will look at a fix as soon as possible.
    Thanks!

  6. http://retroachievements.org/ is a platform which provides achievements for retro games running in emulators, Currently there are only achievement categories for Steam, PSN and Xbox.

    If we had a RetroAchievements category we could add achievements to thousands of games which may never have achievement's otherwise. It would be very cool for things like GOG Galaxy 2.0 integration plugins

    Heya!

    This is interesting for sure, we would have to look into it. One thing that comes to mind is whether or not those achievement lists are official, or approved by the original developer/publisher, as this could prove tricky from an IP perspective. Since we would redistribute the data, we’re very careful about the source and provenance.

    We’ll be looking into this internally first. Thanks!

  7. The EAN on the back of packages are a unique way to identify different versions of games. This could help to find details about a game and revision.

  8. Pages 1, 2, and 3 of rated games, sorted by rating, does not show all of the games. Games of the same rating seem to be mixed up, and not using a second sorting column like game name to determine which should show on subsequent pages. This may be broken in the API as well, but I have not confirmed.

  9. I was thinking about how to increase the amount of user reviews and interactivity between members and think this may be the best solution. Right now there is a section for recently reviewed games, but that doesn't seem to be showing user reviews? (Clicking on most items returns nothing, may be recently rated?) This would give more incentive to leave reviews which would appear on the front page for a short amount of time. Could be as simple as Game Cover art, reviewer name and rating, with a link to the game page, a more advanced method would be to…

  10. I've noticed a large number of my games have no critic rating in gog due to gog using igdb for their database.

    There also appears to be no way of adding critic reviews or flagging a game as requiring them?

    Would it be possible to have this feature and perhaps provide a link to another website that has documented them to speed up the process? This way they can still be vetted by yourselves.

    Heya!

    We actually used to have apps, but our (IGDB) team is quite small we decided to terminate them as we couldn’t guarantee high quality support for them. We don’t plan to refocus on apps until we can guarantee that seal of quality again.

    However we do plan on revisiting and improving our mobile site before then!

    Stay tuned :)

  12. The 'follow' attribute for a game is never returned from the API.
    For example, I would expect the following query to return "follows": 466 (as per the website).

    fields name, follows, hypes;
    where name ~ "last of us: part";
    limit 10;

    Instead, I get:

    "id": 26192,
    "hypes": 325,
    "name": "The Last of Us: Part II"

    Hey there, we don’t actively support Follows (and Hype) as a data point. We need to update our documentation to reflect this, apologies.

    Follow is part of the private endpoint we are sunsetting.

  13. Display the user rating you rated for games in lists; would be easier to see which ones you have rated.

  14. Instead of using random algorithm for similar games on IGDB pages. Make users enable recommend games based on their review. See MyAnimeList for the implementation. Its something like this :

    If you like [Insert game title], then you can try this based on users recommendation and similar theme.

  16. Ability to add game-specific controllers/accessories to their page. For example the guitar in guitar hero games, the camera with Eyetoy games, the dance mat for DDR games and so on. Along with the option to set whether the item is mandatory or not.

  18. Creat lists that you can share with others.
    For example “list of all new e3 games”

  20. Currently if you look at a series collection page, the main games, dlc and expansions are listed, but not standalone expansions.

    Examples:
    https://www.igdb.com/games/nostalgia-forte is not listed on its series collection page https://www.igdb.com/collections/nostalgia

    https://www.igdb.com/games/far-cry-3-blood-dragon is not listed on its series collection page https://www.igdb.com/collections/far-cry

    I think it is hard to find those stand alone expansions from the perspective of trying to find all standalone games in a series and would really like to have them represented.
