Pronoun bio field and chat integration
Following up my comment on https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310210-discover/suggestions/42218083-pronouns-prefix
It would be great if there were a dedicated Bio field in which we could put our pronouns, and a chat feature similar to the functionality provided by https://pronouns.alejo.io/ to display pronouns right alongside names in chat. This could also be used to populate a tag-like display near the streamer's name.
Tags for streamers are a start, but I'd like to be able to consult someone's bio (if they choose to disclose pronouns) so I can refer to them properly when they're not currently streaming and be able to refer to viewers properly.

There's already a third party extension that does this.
I could maybe see it being a thing in the profile card.. but I think tags or anything involving the username is a really bad idea.
To be honest I'm camp "I've never seen this issue in any chat ever." but we could meet halfway.. so profile card if that solves it for you. It doesn't impact chat visually and you can still figure out someone their pronoun if they feel the need to add it.

Personally I think any feature that has a 3rd party extension or sites in place as a workaround to a missing feature on is obviously wanted and needed. I use the 3rd party chrome extension for pronouns atm because I like to know how to refer to people in chat. If you don’t care about this then you are saying you don’t respect your chat or others around you. Pronouns visible in chat would help out so much for those of us that like to respect others and their experiences.

Over 1000 people voted for this, and you're asking "who gives a ****"? Clearly a lot of people do.

No offense but why... I dont give a **** what gender another user is in chat... We are all just gamers who gives a **** about that stuff.

Streamer can just read your name, why do they need to know your gender? Also this idea has been up for a year and a half, perhaps it should be closed by now.

I'm totally against, because I wanna view everyone as human.
It cannot get more safe and neutral that way.I -- don't -- need -- to -- know -- your -- gender.

What makes you think everyone wants to know?

It would be cool to know what someone would like to be refered to as soon as you see them in chat. It saves the QA process and you don't have to try to remember and unintentionally offend the person. Of course this should not be forced on everyone if someone wants that info to remain anonymous. This would not solely just cater to LGBT+ community but as a whole would allow for better communication in our online interactions when things are less clear.

It would be easier for the streamers to respect people's pronouns without having to ask ever 2 seconds

saw a few people saying that pronous are stupid and "I have never heard of a streamer using pronouns in general" so please, let me remind you that English isn't the only language on the world. In most languages there isn't a neutral pronoun like "you" that can be applied on everyone, so everytime you speak with someone, you HAVE TO USE A PRONOUN (she or he) which is very hard to know when the username are like "littlepotato123".

Having pronouns more accessible on Twitch would help so many more people feel validated, and if somebody doesn't want theirs shown, that's also a perfectly valid option. It's hard enough when people misgender you either on purpose or on accident, and having somebody use your preferred pronouns helps make people feel validated and heard and important.

My friends (self included) in the Black, Asian, and LGBTQIA2+ communities have been very vocal about adding tags for separate identities, such as a "trans" tag or a "black tag." I agree that such tags would be incredibly helpful in finding streamers who share experience with the viewer, and helps Twitch to feature more diverse streamers in people's feeds/recommendations.
While I will continue to support the fight for these tags (such as this one: https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310210-discover/suggestions/43152291-black-tag ), I think there is potentially a more far-reaching system that could help everyone all at once. Why not introduce a new page within settings/channel dashboard that allows a user to set their identity? This could range from race to orientation to gender identity, and beyond as needed. This feature (preferably with togglable visibility) could be used in conjunction with the tag system to provide better searchability for marginalized creators.
This could be useful for viewers in other ways as well. A pronoun selection is one thing I know a lot of viewers and creators alike have been wanting for a while. There's even a very popular browser extension that's been made to enable this pending the introduction of a native feature. This could be integrated into the settings menu or potentially the "chat identity" tab. There are some definite up- and down-sides to each of the placements, but any setting is better than none.
The most important thing about anything that gets added is to make sure that the community has input in how the feature is implemented. Best not to leave anyone out!

This is so important for people to feel included and seen. Pronouns of all kinds need to be normalized and this is a simple yet massive step in doing so. It also allows streamers to properly address their viewers without accidentally misgendering them. As the amount of trans people using this platform continues to grow, it is more vital than ever to make sure they feel welcome in a place that's meant for people to have fun and relax.

@YadoranSA ...you do know literally everyone has pronouns right? Even cis people.

People are incorrectly calling this "inclusive" it is definitely not. This excludes people who do not belong to your dogmatic ideology. In other words, you just want to be inclusive of people in your own social circle/beliefs and cast out the rest. And, like I said, that is not inclusive. So where is the vote down button?

I understand the reasoning behind this, but ya'll know that Streamers, especially ones with very active chats or ones playing games that need focus don't always have the option/ability to check ya'lls profiles to see this info right?
If this is an issue that bothers you, ya'll know you can always edit your usernames too include this right?
Besides, in my years of watching twitch, most streamers always refer to people as "chat" or by a users profile name... that's not true of all channels of course, but please realize that this might be demanding too much from twitch streamers.
Otherwise, why not just find an lgbtqia friendly streamer with a smaller community and a discord? Most streamers I've found with the lgbtqia friendly tag have discords where you can chose pronouns.
Voting regardless because I do support the idea. I just hope ya'll realize that it'll be difficult in a way for both streamers and viewers to be happy.

Opt-in native pronoun tags will allow people to do more to create safer spaces for LGBTQ communities. Right now the only way to do this is with a Google Chrome extension
