2000 channels follows limit is too low
Hello, I follow a lot of people on Twitch, a lot of people have not started streaming yet, will probably do it soon or will not stream at all.
I find it impossible that the channel follow limit is 2000 follow.
Please increase the number to at least 10000 channel follows, so that I can follow more than 2000 channels & users.
Even on Youtube there is no channel following limit!
Please increase this, I have to delete users from my channel list all the time, which annoys me a lot.
I also find it very dubious for a streaming platform that there is such a limit at all.
At the moment I can't see which channel I'm following because it's no longer displayed in the browser since Twitch redesigned it.
2000 channels to follow are just too few, please fixt this problem.

2000 is far too low. I know it sounds like a lot but for channel networking and meeting other streamers on the platform it is easy to reach that limit and we've been at that limit for over a year. This means we have to spend time every week unfollowing people to follow new friends raiding in.
I understand putting a limit on newer accounts to prevent bot activity but I think it would be extremely beneficial to increase this limit based on the age of an account or something of the sort.
Please increase the limit, I really don't want to spend time on stream continuing to unfollow people!

So you can go to https://www.twitch.tv/directory/following and select "channels" to sort out all the channels you are following. The default view, Overview, does indeed show live channels first followed by recently live channels. But you can select channels or categories and sort it a few different ways to find channels easier for unfollowing. I know this is not a solution but this should at least make it a little easier for you in the short term. cc @alleykat001

Helpful would be a feature to unfollow inactive/banned streamers. I find the limit very annoying, but do understand the reason for it - it just doesn't make sense that there are no way to clear out those who haven't streamed for the last 5 years, the only ones I can unfollow are those live or who recently were live - there's not even a page where you can see who you follow. Please fix. I'll have to reduce my subs for the time being, hoping this will get fixed soon.

The mobile app was recently changed so it could display live channels in a weird way. Still no way to sort them, but now it's some weird side panel that wasn't necessary.
Glad we got that questionably necessary change instead of removing or at least increasing the follow limit, which was suggested in this post half a decade ago.

2000 is especially too prohibitive for folks who have been on Twitch for a while (e.g., my account is over 10 years old & i have to try to find a channel to unfollow when i want to follow another)
at a minimum, a higher follow limit could be a twitch turbo perk

This was 2019 idea before COVID and the huge blowup since we need more follows already in 2019 now in 2024 this is not acceptable we need a raise and quick hhank you

2000 channels is way too low for a following limit. Ideally, you wouldn't have a limit at all, but it should at least be 10,000. How am I supposed to know when channels go online if I can't follow them? You're limiting your own growth & income by having such a low limit. We won't know when some people go live, so that brings down viewership & lowers income from subs & bits.
By having such a low channel follow limit, you're limiting & hurting Twitch itself.

If anything I would like to be able to categorize the streamers I follow in seperate folders... so one folder for IRL streamers another for gamers and another for Bathtub/Poolgirls.. oops I didnt write that.
But just like a windows explorer folder, I'd like to arrange my followed streamers in categories in subcategories.

please this has been driving me nuts for years, an efficient way to unfollow inactive streamers at a minimum.. it's impossible to know who who is streaming.. also it limits who I am aware of, DJ Qbert streams.. one of the greatest scratch DJ's of all time.. I would love to see one of his sets.. but I don't have the follow to spare, not one follow...

I would like to add something to this, if I try to manually unfollow some old channels, first I have to scroll down for TWO HOURS (ridiculous) to get to the bottom and start cleaning up. Then if my browser somehow refreshes that's ANOTHER TWO HOURS to get to the bottom of the list. Either increase the max follows, or add an unfollow tab where you can click boxes next to your follows, and unfollow multiple channels at once. (And make it so that they all load at once) We are your users, you are supposed to make this platform easy to use and user-friendly, well it's not.
