Viewer Count WRong
Hello, my viewer count always shows 1 maybe 2 viewers, however you can clearly see multiple accounts in chat watching. So not including viewers that don't have accounts, why is my stream showing only 1 viewer?
Hey everyone! Just wanted to pop on here to give some clarification.
Your Viewer Count reflects the total number of people watching your live broadcast, whether or not they have logged into a Twitch account. Your total Users in Chat reflects the number of logged-in Twitch accounts that are connected to your chat. In some instances, an account can be connected to your chat without watching your live broadcast - like chat bots, users in chat-only mode, or users in pop-out chat mode - which would then create a difference in your total number of Users in Chat and your Viewer Count. You can learn more about your Viewer Count and Users in Chat in this help article.
Thank you as always for the feedback!

Hate to be the one to break it to you, but it's gonna be tough to make a reasonable amount of money without either thousands of viewers or a few really rich ones.
Regardless, this is an issue, I posted about it too, and I hope your cat did/is doing well.

Yep. On my account. Its saying I had 57 people over all but counter would say 7-9 people at any given time. I only get the right count after I stop the stream and go look at my twitch and then I can see how many people were watching.

not only that but its all wrong..... its saying that I've only AVG 2.8 viewers when I've done the math's and I'm AVG 3.19! for a big company you think you'd be able to do basic math's that you learn in grade 5. over 14 days all my AVG added up is 44.7/14=3.19 think you could at least get that right or are you just trying to make it even harder for people to get affiliated to push them to another platform genuinely confused think thats something you'd get right for how basic it is.

Those "users" are not actually viewing your streams. They collect analytics based off of many factors: viewer count, people chatting, stream length, current game or activity, etc... Now what happens with that info remains a mystery to me. But, I've noticed more and more of those channels pop in the more days I've streamed with 4+ actual viewers and my viewer count fluctuates between 2 and 10 viewers some days. So who knows?

Whenever I end my stream I have 2.9 average viewers on the email they send me, but on my creator dashboard i'm at a 2.78 average viewers. Why is that?

While I understand that Twitch wants to limit bots from one IP address, it makes it infuriating to try to have friends and family that want to support you be blocked/ not shown as viewers.

I have the same issue.
I wish I could upload images to show I have found a different readings of the average views for one stream. This has happened many times, but I'll use tonight's stream as an example. In the stream summary email it said there was an average of 1.8 views, and in the channel analytics section, when hovering over tonight's stream it said 2.1 average views.
In the stream summary section on twitch it says an average of 1 view. It doesn't show decimal places so is it using a rounding or a flooring function?
(rounding meaning to the nearest integer: 1.4 would be 1, 1.8 would be 2)
(flooring meaning always 'rounding down': 1.9 would be 1)It is unclear which reading (1.8 or 2.1) is being used to calculate the average viewers in the stream summary section as I don't know how it's being calculated. Either 2.1 is wrong, or the 1 is wrong. Or also the 1.8, honestly at this point I have no idea.
I really wanted to just ask this as a question to get a reply, but it seems like this is the only place to submit questions. -

Agreed! I have only 6 tabs open and stay active in most of them with the audio on. My view is not counted. What is going on twitch??

It still happens, I was watching a live on twitch the other day, we were 4 discussing and twitch said that the streamer had no one (1 viewers) How do you want our streamer to evolve with that! come on ! What is this **** !
