Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

the entire purpose of clips is for members of the community - humans - to highlight the moments of a stream that they connect to in some way. human viewer connection to human streamers, and the art and activities we both share.
a soulless bot is completely incapable of any of that. its a completely pointless feature at best, and will probably just destroy the value of clips as a concept instead.
thats not even to mention the whole, ya know, ethical and environmental disaster that most 'ai' implementations are these days.
for once in your empty corpo lives, just...dont.

What is even the point of AI auto clips? Clips are a fundamentally community-oriented feature. What the community thinks is cool, those moments they decide to capture, that's between the streamer and the community. The last thing anyone wants is "AI" clogging up the clip catalogue with random junk.

Many have said so many legit reasons to not have this which I agree. So I will add that I’m cancelling my subscription and will encourage my subscribers to as well if implemented.

keep AI off twitch!!! i don’t want it anywhere near me, my streams, or the communities i’m part of!! having the option to turn it off is not enough; AI has already proven to be a huge negative by destroying trust and integrity in so many creative spaces. rapidly polluting the earth and using precious water resources to generate what exactly, AI slop? **** no. i’m so tired of AI being shoved down my throat everywhere. please don’t make twitch a space that values AI slop over its creators and viewers; they bring actual creativity and originality to this platform, which is the whole point of twitch in the first place.

AI sucks. Full stop. We're all getting so tired of seeing AI. No one wants anything to do with AI, especially not in creative spaces.

I genuinely hate that I have to check if everything I like is actually made up garbage masquerading as real. I don't want more AI garbage

Please vote no. Ai is a slippery slope without guardrails. This makes it easier to replace all of us with Ai streamers. I spent 8 months on a picket line to prevent Ai from replacing me. I do NOT want it here too.

Using ai to generate clips will further contribute to the decline of our worlds water systems, Contributing twoards the death of the human race. Say no to ai. Id rather that they were mandated to be cooled with refrigerant (despite how much more dangerous it could be)

Please keep AI out of our streams, thank you. No one wants it. No one asked for it.
Clips are one of the ways people connect with streams-- human interaction. Please don't replace that human interaction with a worthless machine.

Do not fall for the AI scam and implement useless "features" at the expense of your actual users. Nobody wants, needs, or will benefit from it.

Keep GenAI out of Twitch. it's a technological dead end that will *never* be profitable and in the mean time it's using all the water and poisoning the air around the datacenters. and even if that wasn't enough, NOBODY WANTS IT

Stop shoving GenAI into spaces that are obviously going to be against it. It's not that hard.

Extremely well-written and well-cited! I will add—with Twitch's recent published feature of Twitch clip clout by users in chat, doesn't this genAI slop option function as something of a backhanded slap to those streamers and users who were enjoying the community clip sharing feature? This entire platform owes its success to the idiosyncrasies and unique personalities and talents of human creators and their communities. Stop forcing genAI garbage into everything.

I know you've already invested money into this. Maybe even time and resources.
You shouldn't have.
Get whatever you can out of it back as soon as possible, and backtrack or downgrade from whatever you've implemented. Heck, if you ever really need to lay someone off to save money, anyone that suggested implementing A"I" in its current polluting and plagiarizing concept should be at the top of the list. If they're amongst your userbase, ban them. If they're amongst your advertisers, blacklist them. I can't guarantee you'll get your money back, but at least the chances that you won't be wasting any more of it increase after you've removed the troublemakers responsible.

AI is extremely anti-creator and makes terrible quality content for viewers besides. I do not want to see these sort of features polluting twitch in any way.
