Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

I'll definitely stop streaming if this gets implemented. Don't add AI to Twitch.

Do not make a choice you'll regret in the future. Listen to your creators. Do not implement this. AI will be the final nail in the coffin and your eventual downfall.

It's bad enough that someone literally got assaulted at twitchcon this year. Now they're thinking of using ai as an auto clip tool? I wouldn't be Suprised if twitch has a mass exodus if they go through with this. We've made it this far without AI. So why are we all of a sudden believing that we can't live without AI? It just makes no sense to me.

Not only is the implementation of AI tools in twitch an affront to the userbase it is woefully insecure, horrid for the environment, and has been proven time and again to be innacurate and inefficient.
I implore you not to allow or impliment ANY AI tools in twitch. I do not consent to having my content trained on these tools

If you do this, everyone's going to either Kick.com, Youtube Live, or Joystick.tv. This isn't hyperbole, people are already preparing accounts on other sites

I want to have faith in you Twitch; please do not become like every other site known to implement AI, you will lose ALOT of people.
I do not want to look for an alternate platform, I enjoy streaming on your service. Please do NOT implement AI. Please.

Need I also remind that the previous predictive tools you folks have attempted to implement have also been woefully inefficient as it gauged a moment that could very much be out of context due to mere chat having a spike in activity as a sole metric, often leading to moments that were far from intended to be captured as "mementos" of some sort, while at the same time driving away the community aspect of said features (in cases such as Moments, also fomenting more FOMO).
Now, imagine, if you will, getting autoclipped during a hate raid just because it uses a similar measuring... that would not be fun or let alone legal in terms of your own terms and conditions regarding harrassment, would it? :)
Let alone our collective disgust for the slop machine being used (I'm not even gonna call it misuse) for what it was intended for in the first place, an overbloated system that will inevitably siphon more resources than having human as staff would. Not even in the long run, but short term, at this point. coding is sloppy, insecure, and it was made precisely to siphon more money than you would imagine while causing the damage mentioned on the post above, on top of the multitude of copyright liabilities already in place. The fact that there has been hiring to correct said sloppiness from other companies scream as much.
So I'll call it for what it is. Another unforced error, fueled by another unforced error.
Drop the automation. Seriously.

AI is a bubble. AI will crash. AI will not magically solve issues and involve more work to fix what it breaks. Time and time again this has proven the case. There is no GOOD use case scenario where AI implementation wholesale solves a problem.

Please Twitch, do NOT do it.
Just look at how every other platform that is doing things with AI "enhancements" is being judged by anyone in the creative field.
We told you no to AI before. That was not meant to be a hint to get, that was meant to be a statement to not do it.
Don't force people to look for alternative platforms yet again just because you don't understand the climate around AI. Please let your users keep their Integrity. -

Twitch staff, killing the site and all of you being laid off so Dan Clancy can get a raise would be less upsetting to me than this endless parade of slop machine predatory bullsht. Twitch's shenanigans are ~barely~ tolerated, what with platforming hate speech, rewarding behavior that used to get partners forever banned such as harassing other partners, and let's not even bring up TwitchCon.
I will be plain, pursuit of "AI" which is just content theft, will be met with seething hostility. Only the inept tech bros who got swindled into NFTs like such trash, and there are probably quite a few of such ilk on staff, I'm willing to bet.
TL;DR: Twitch, don't you fcking dare.

**** naw, if we wan' t something alike we can do this elsewhere. Especially with companies just turning things on at random. As well as just scraping when things are off. It's just ' Not it'
Not even mentioning the enviremental issues. Also it's kinda hecked against the community making clips and the new badges yall made.
Can already make clips alike with small scripts or programs running under a keybind as well.

This is a horribly disgusting move on Twitch's part. 1) I simply do not want any part of some AI constantly listening to me while I'm live just to make a, most likely, poorly edited video. 2) Clips are supposed to be a community experience to engage with the streamer and their platform to save their favorite moments, or at least it's something that I can do myself which lets me have control over what I personally want to highlight. 3) The terrible environmental impact of AI databases VS saving someone the time of a *single* button click is absolutely not worth it to consider adding this "tool."
If this is implemented, I have no problem streaming somewhere else that actually supports and values the creative people on its platform, and I certainly will not be spending any more money on Twitch and its services.

Do not implement any kind of AI tools. Ai kills the world, it kills creators, and it can only steal. It will do nothing to improve the work done by creators on twitch.

If you implement this function, I will take my streams and community elsewhere.
