Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool

Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.

I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.

Facts about AI usage

  • Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.

To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.

  • Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.

    • AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.

It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.

Turning it off as an option is not enough.

    This is such an awful idea, and no streamer would in their right mind want their voice/face/content scraped or scanned by AI. No one trusts an organization like twitch to not use it for other, unethical uses.

    No one wants this. Stop.

    This is harmful and will scrape/store the voices of every streamer. This puts every Twitch streamer at risk for fraud and impersonation. We do not want this.

    Read the room Twitch. The common person does NOT want AI in the creative space, especially when it's so frequently used to scrape information.

    AI has no place in creator spaces like this. I don't need it helping me with anything, because if I get to the point I can't just do it myself I want a real live human assisting me; not some all-seeing stalker eye creating data points of analytics and recording my actions and voice.

    Generative AI is such a harmful, unpopular tool especially in its current form, that other algorithms formerly referred to as AI had to fully change what they're called to not get lumped in with the Slop Vortex. Do not, under any circumstances, give carte blanche for the Content Theft Device to operate on the platform. It was wildly unpopular when you AI-generated an emote and if you try to make clip generation AI-controlled it is going to destroy the goodwill you have built.

    AI is not the type of tool that creators need. Given finite resources available, we would much rather prioritize other options over an AI implementation that costs an enormous amount of physical and computational resources for a benefit that many won't ever really see

    Twitch NEEDS to stop speedrunning the tanking of their image.
    There is NO ONE that wants this and I am NOT the only one here that's looking for the door already.

    Things were already getting dicey with the gen-ai emotes and the general attitude of upper management - but this is a death knell for a site that's having PR disaster after PR disaster.

    Absolutely do not do this! Ai has caused untold suffering and the sheer costs to run this service would be an absolute nightmare as well as the ecological damage. The bubble will burst soon anyways and twitch will be weakened economically. Not to mention all the data scraping to.train this thing is unethical as heck on top of serious consent issues from content creators.

    Strongly against AI. It's ruining enough already without Twitch putting it in their streaming too.
