Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

Ai sucks you've been called out on using it before why are you going to try using it again? Are you lot thick?

There is no need for this ai, among the many harms that it brings, there’s no reason because the joy of clipping comes from a funny moment that a human enjoyed and a sense of community

Ai is not needed. Clips are based on viewer choices, nothing made by is worth it. Nothing made by ai is worth engaging with. There's no care, thought or intention. It's a waste of time, money, water, energy, resources and more to add ai to anything at twitch

With GenAI on the rise, along with AI being unregulated and developed more problems with creators, this simply should not be implemented. I do not approve of this.

"AI clipping" is a nonsensical idea with no reason to be implemented. Perhaps focus on improving actual users' ability to make clips rather than adding a useless feature no-one wants or has asked for.

If you do not want to lose a significant chunk of your base income, DO NOT IMPLEMENT THIS! AT ALL! NO ONE asked for this! It infringes on rights and privacy for streamers who already risk enough with their identities out there.

This is so unnecessary, endorses theft and plagiarism, and hurts the environment in a time when climate change is already harming people. These data centers are already poisoning our air, disrupting our electrical systems, and draining our water sources. We don't want or need this.

Is there any assurance that, when the description Twitch gives reads "Auto Clips will also help you find the most engaging moments from your stream", that it won't follow every other engagement-measuring system, mistake conflict and hate for engagement, and start making clips of banal moments only worth noting because of harassment campaigns happening in the chat section?
Is there any reason to expect Twitch to not make this feature opt-in, when every other company foists this kind of thing on their users?
What about all of the junk clips being made just by people saying "clip that" and "clip it" in other contexts?
This reads directly like "if we feel like it, we're gonna make admin busywork for you to do after your streams, potentially encroaching on pre-existing clip storage limits and other factors of streaming usage, because we could get a lot of shareholder and investor value out of this".(I think the privacy, disrespect of creators and environmental concerns are more important, but Twitch is a modern company, and they're currently incentivised to not care about those things.)

This "AI Tool" can't do anything any individual streamer can't craft for themselves, while also ******* away more of Twitch's dwindling funds and bandwidth. It's a commitment to failure, and a commitment to lost resources. Twitch: Drop it.
