[Experiment] Research Tab & "Time to Stream" Analytics
We're introducing a new tab called Research to Analytics in your Creator Dashboard. With it, streamers can view a panel that provides daily and hourly insight for the best times to stream, based on a particular category, in order to grow their audience.
We'd love to hear feedback on what other information you might find valuable in the Research tab, or how design could be improved to help you better understand whatever it may be that can help you make more informed choices as a streamer.
Hi all,
We're letting you know that Time to Stream should now be available to all users. Based on feedback & engagement, we've decided to implement the bar chart view to keep things easier to understand. Additionally, numbers for Channels and Viewers can be seen along with average viewers per channel. If you have any other feedback for the Research page, please feel free to share it here. Thank you!

Thanks for actually making something really useful. This will help streamers plan for strems and not waste time, money, and energy. A very great step in the right direction twitch, keep cooking.

I love this feature. My admin and I really enjoy this layout versus the current layout. It would be awesome if there was a way to see if viewership for that category is increasing or decreasing over a certain filterable time period.

The new research analytic feature is good but is lacking maybe one important/crucial data who could help a lot streamers : the number of people streaming. Adding that would be sweet !

This is a fascinating feature. I think what might help for scheduling streams would be also having access to a "channels live" schedule along side it. As it is currently implemented, there is no way to tell if the average number of views per channel is due to the number of viewers watching that game at those times, or due to the number of channels streaming that game at those times.

It would be awesome if you could include what my personal average viewership was compared to the overall average viewership for the same category. Also, a way to see if viewership for that category is increasing or decreasing over a certain filterable time period.
I also think as someone stated before, having a rough idea of the number of channels in the category at that time would be greatly appreciated.
Also, seeing a listing of the tags being used on the top 5 or 10 channels in the category and the ability to filter that by the available filters would help people who aren't great at tags. Me. It would help me ;)

More Filters i.e. "exclude channels with less than 3.0 average" "include channels with over 1000 average viewers"

This is absolutely groundbreaking and amazing!! This perfectly fits in with my spontaneity in my schedule and game choices, and it gives me the ability to be consistent at any part of the day! Thank you for this Twitch, I can't wait to see what more you add from here. Keep up the good work. 👍

LexiGenix makes a good point, having more control over seeing what's more popular during our ideal timeslots would be nice. Additionally, the lack of regional info makes it very essentially pointless for anyone outside of NA to use this feature. Looking forward to any improvements for regional info especially.

It's a good feature, It would be good if we could search for the time we want to stream and to see what categories are popular with viewers at those times.
I would like to address a confusing element to the research table. If you search 'wartales' for example, you might see times where it says 60 average viewers, with 'larger streamers' filtered out, but it's dark purple, so apparently it IS NOT a good time, because the key states that this colour means it's not a good time to stream. However, if you search for an older game like 'DayZ' and you might get 10 average viewers but it's the lightest shade of purple/pink, which means IT IS a good time to stream. So how is it a higher number doesn't always mean it's a good time to stream? The relationship between the number and the colour needs defining. Surely higher average viewers means more exposure? Unless you are factoring in the average number of streamers as well? If so please add this explanation.
Also what do you class as a large streamer? Perhaps change the filter to say 'streamers with >100 viewers for example'.
Thanks for the new feature, keep it up!
