Unlimited VIP slots

I get that the original idea of VIP badges was to recognize valuable members of a streamer's community, but the actual use of it is different in many cases and it is instead often used to give the streamer a better way to recognize users of a certain significance in chat.
While that may often also include valuable community members, the main use is often to highlight real life friends, acquaintances, family members, other streamers, ... and more.

The problem with that is the limit of 100 VIP slots that is reached at the highest level, and while that might be enough for new or smaller streamers, that amount will quickly become an annoyance for those that have been on Twitch for a long time.

The only choice left is to use the moderator role at that point, which in itself creates a lot of other issues: the biggest one being that people that are not actually acting as a moderator of the chat being messaged by regular viewers for all kinds of inquiries that should only be handled by actual moderators, which then forces them to act as a middleman between the viewer and an actual moderator.

I'm a moderator in various bigger chats and this is an issue in almost all of them.

To name an example:

"fuslie" is currently averaging 7-10k viewers at all times, she has been streaming for over 6 years and has made a lot of friends and other connections in that time.
We are currently at the limit of 100 VIP slots (of which almost 90% are real life friends or acquaintances) with an additional around 110 moderators (of which over 95% were only given the role because there are no VIP slots left and only a handful of real moderators).

Conclusion:

It makes no sense to have an unlimited amount of moderator slots while limiting the amount of VIP slots... if there was an actual need for a limit at all, it would make a lot more sense the other way around.
Either way, I'd like for VIP slots to be unlimited too, or at the very least increase the limit by a lot, I'm talking at least 10x of what it is now, so it is almost impossible to ever be reached when used in a "normal" way.

    100% agree, the current amount is so limiting for streamers like myself who have been streaming for multiple years building up a large audience. It would be great to be able to acknowledge those who have been supporting for a long period of time, and right now 100 vips is not enough! Please give us more flexibility to show appreciation to our fans in a better way that works for everyone, that being unlimited VIP slots.

    I do think it would be nice to have additional slots tied to different metrics. Not just active chatters, but based on sub count milestones, or followers or something else. Just some additional options would be decent.

    That is true in a sense, vip slots should be unlimited, i see that point if someone wants to give more vips if limit is 100, then i can see situation where someone starts to handout vip slots under the cloak of mod which isnt right like that example, 100 vips, 110 mods which only handful were actual mods

    Honestly, suggesting the moderator role must be used to expand VIP slots is just a poor decision on the part of a streamer and isn't a valid point in whether there should be more VIP slots. Someone who gives out Mod slots like VIP is just asking for problems and that is a personal issue.

    So anyone saying they are "forced" to mod people because they are out of VIP slots is just excusing poor management and planning.

    Hi, About your VIP program, the limit is capped at 100 users I was wondering would be possible to upgrade the user amount so that larger streamers can VIP more of their friends instead of forcing them to mod them? Just an idea?
