A feature to "turn off subscriptions" for streamers who are affiliate but can't stream enough to warrant a subscription
I hit affiliate and was taking off, but then life happened and now I can't stream as much (many friends in the same boat). We want to be able to stream when we can, without the added pressure of people subbing or gifting subs. When people pay to see our content for a whole month, and we don't know when we're streaming again next, it makes us feel obligated to stream more.
Receiving bits, having channel points, and having emotes is still something that would be nice to keep, but at least letting us turn off subs as we please would be great. Another use case is during charity events - I would rather people donate to the charity than subscribe to my channel.

Can this be made already?
the sub features are amazing but I'm going to be on a visa that doesn't allow me to earn money at all soon and I really dont want to stop streaming completely as I would like to continue to be there for my community. However I would lose my visa and my community if I have to completely stop streaming until I am allowed to work again.

Yes good idea because Twitch is a hobby that does not pay well so we need to pause our streams for a while sometimes in order to work harder and make money to survive. It's unfair for our subscribers when we pause...

I don’t want people’s money. I literally only want to chill, and while it’s nice people want to be generous or whatever, they can do that for someone who wants to accept it. The only thing I like about affiliate is emotes and channel points.

I want this because I cannot get anyone from Twitch to help me with getting permission for my visa requirements living overseas.

Would honestly love this. Never accepted the affiliate program because I don't want the money. The features would be amazing to have though. Channel points and follower emotes would be amazing to give to my community of people.

Please add this! I like the affiliate feature but don't necessarily need the income. Would be great to be able to turn it off and just use channel points etc.

+1 Would be useful for me too. Or at least having the channel points for everyone

+1 Yes PLEASE; I'm in the middle of a self-help housing program and they are monitoring my annual income down to the penny, if I make any additional income from twitch, I'm going to over-qualify... I want to be able to turn it off just until we close on the loan so that I can stream and not have to worry about this!

I would love to be able to choose how and when people can support my channel by subscribing to it. What is the harm in making it optional to offer subs or, like others said, turn it on or off, depending on our life happening around us? The current situation for me is forcing me to drop my affiliation. Certainly, that is not the intended effect.

+1 I’m on unemployment and want to stream while I have the time but any income made must be reported. I’d like to temporarily disable this so as to not mess with my income between jobs.

I might just build a new channel to get rid of the subscription...
Twitch doesn't promote the use on small streamers, taking 50-70% of the earning per sub and given nothing in return after that big cut, 15 sub monthly ain't an easy achieve for small streamers that just do it for the fun...There is also that 100U$$ limit you need to achieve to move the money back to your wallet and how hard is to keep track of the money you been earning (swear they do it on purpose to keep people in the shadows) and now you also have to do what regarding taxes? I'm not from US to deal with their broke mechanics about tax cuts and incomes so why do they bother? We are getting donations, not washing drug money or building a monopoly that exploit people with low salaries and stuff, like what a **** men, is just a tip like the one you give at a bar and they hope people present papers around those things as a testimony of incomes? What's next? Letting the goberment know if we put more calories than we need in our bodies and charges extra taxes if the food taste better than theirs?
I rather take direct donations than feeding this badly implemented system that only help big streamers. -

Please? I wanna stream to have fun, I have no use for a second income and would rather that money go to someone else who could use it more than I could. ^^;

Yes please! take this in count!

Yes please! Also an option to disable bits too. I'd like to disable all income.
I don't want a second job (mostly because taxes are really annoying to deal with
over here, but also because I can't stream a lot anyway and it doesn't seem fair to allow people to sub for my 9 streams per year).I just want to stream for fun, and have emotes and channel points. "Sub" emotes could just go to anyone who is following instead of subbing.
Or, and I know this would be kinda next level, let me designate a couple streamers (like autohosts), and all my subs and bits go directly to one of them!
Edit: And please, twitch, don't make me enter all this payment /tax related information, because I don't want to make use of it at all.
