Anime licensing Partnerships with anime companies
Hello Twitch Team,
I would like to suggest that Twitch explore partnerships with anime studios, distributors, and rights holders to create legal opportunities for creators who are passionate about anime and want to build anime-focused communities on Twitch.
As a creator and anime fan, I understand and respect the importance of copyright protection and the rights of content owners. This suggestion is not about bypassing copyright laws or allowing unauthorized use of content. Instead, it is about creating a legal and creator-friendly path that benefits creators, viewers, rights holders, and Twitch itself.
Many creators are passionate about anime and would love the opportunity to engage with anime communities in a way that fully respects copyright requirements. Currently, there are very limited options for independent creators who want to do this. Because of that, I would love to see Twitch explore solutions such as:
• Optional paid licensing programs for creators who are willing to purchase access to licensed anime content.
• Partnerships with anime companies, distributors, and rights holders that could create approved creator programs.
• Anime watch programs, promotional events, or special creator opportunities that allow legal participation.
• Revenue-sharing or partnership models that help compensate rights holders while giving creators a legitimate path to participate.
I would personally be interested in paying for a creator-friendly licensing option if one were ever available. I believe many other creators would as well.
At the same time, I hope any future opportunities would not be limited only to Twitch Partners or the largest channels. Smaller creators, Affiliates, and independent streamers are also investing time, effort, and passion into building communities on Twitch. Many of us are dedicated to the platform and would appreciate the opportunity to participate in legal anime-related programs regardless of audience size.
I believe an inclusive approach could help Twitch retain and attract creators who are passionate about anime while creating new opportunities for engagement across the platform. It could also help rights holders reach new audiences, generate additional revenue, and encourage creators to remain fully compliant with copyright requirements.
My goal is not to ask Twitch to change copyright rules. My goal is to ask Twitch to consider whether there may be a way to create legal opportunities that allow creators of all sizes to participate.
Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestion and for continuing to listen to creator feedback. I genuinely enjoy Twitch and would love to see more opportunities for anime-focused creators in the future.
Sincerely,
Brittany Jones
