Raid & Host Viewer Opt Out Setting
The new /raid feature is great for channel networking as hosting has always been, but both can be problematic for many viewers. It would be convenient for the User Settings page to be updated with a set of opt out settings for both raids and hosts. If a user opts out of raids, they will be considered to automatically click "Leave" at the end of any raid countdown timer. If they opt out of hosts, hosted channels will not load unless the viewer intentionally presses the "Play" button.
Raids and Hosting present problems for:
1) Temporarily AFK viewers during the stream's end
2) Viewers multitasking during the stream's end (especially playing a game). A raid porting someone from one channel to another can suddenly change audio or bitrate settings, or even alt-tab viewers out of some games.
3) Viewers with data limits who only budget data to watch one channel can be surprised when forced to join other channels and continue to consume data
This! It's like literally the most annoying thing on twitch. i really love twitch. i watch twitch for like 10h per day. and if a streamer ends his stream and I am sleeping or I am afk or just playing a game i dont want to be forced to leave. There is so far no other workaround than using bttv for that problem, but that one is buggy. and it bugs me out quite a lot. also i think most of the community would agree
please let me opt out of raids. I want to be able to fall asleep watching a stream knowing im not gonna be passed around like crazy for it to end up on a streamer that screams and wakes me up
I'm here with the same wish. So often, I've wished I could leave a stream playing while I worked on something else or slept, only to be startled by the new raid host's content. Please make it possible for us to opt out of raids!
This is a pretty old suggestion but I came here today to suggest specifically the option to automatically opt-out of raids using an account setting.
