Please don't block the video stream with Ads
In the middle of watching someone's exciting steam, an ad pops up covering the entire video while chat continues. Chat is then going crazy because something awesome just happened, yet we were unable to see it because an ad was covering the video stream. What a disappointment.
Make the ad go into a corner with sound or something, but please do not block the whole image. That's the reason why we are here, to watch the steamers. You want the ads for monetary gain, fine, but find a happy medium where you don't disappoint your customers. Badly placed ads drive more people away than keeps them.
Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads! These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown. You can find out more information here: https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/status/1603148201489580032

Agreed. I don't watch streams anymore because they're blocked for like 30 seconds by an annoying Amazon ad. We know what audible is.
I don't sub or gift or anything anymore unless it's prime or through streamlabs purely out of spite from ads. -

I don't mind the ADS at all but don't cut the stream to show me a 15s AD it's a stream I missed some important moment because of this so, please make the AD and stream play together if you can or find something that does not break the stream while I watch it

Make the ad go above chat, not the stream.

using adblock ( 3 of them), never had a single ad in the last 3 months,
download adblocks, and i agree that Twitch Ads are dogsht, those used to always popup when something was happening on streamers screen, shame on twitch, shame on amazon for ruining customer experience -

Why are mid-rolls back? This is a terrible idea and Twitch knows it. The only mid-rolls should be ones manually triggered by the streamer, not automatic ones.

This! Would also love an option to opt out of specific ad's as some are just super annoying or frustrating.

These ad breaks are getting worse. 1 minute of ad breaks every 5 minutes? What the **** is wrong with you, Twitch? Nobody is going to watch your platform if you keep this up.

At the moment I see a purple screen every 10 minutes now, whos idea was that, fire this guy. This is the first time im considering leaving this platform. All the streams became close to unwatchable for me since yesterday. The Doc was one of my most favorite streamers btw. haughtiness comes before the event, cheers

This new thing started yesterday with a notice that pops up for pretty much 2 mins going on about scripts and adblockers and its really annoying, every 15 mins I get it now since last night and I have all my adblockers turned off on twitch. I'm not a fan of this at all. Please get your stuff together twitch.

Moreover, many streams run requests from viewers. If ads pop up and block the stream during your request, it's incredibly annoying and intrusive.
Twitch, please stop bending the knee to advertisers and focus more on user experience. You're a streaming platform, not an advertising agency. Annoying me with ads that randomly pop up and block the stream don't make me want to subscribe or buy those products, they make me want to close Twitch entirely and do something else. It's awful.

This is a great suggestion! Still having ads supports the streamers however I find it so hard to grow my channel because people click off as soon as they see an ad. It would have been great to see a banner instead of an ad blocking the whole video because on twitch you can't even skip back to see what you missed.

Initially when I click on a channel to view, there is a fairly long delay before I can see content that the streamer is providing. It is often 15-30 seconds. Due to this I have tended to open channels in new tabs, mute those tabs and immediately switch to looking at something else for half a minute or so. I am not even sure what was shown on that stream at that point and often lose interest by the time I remember I had a stream open, so I just close it. I am not sure how this behavior came about, perhaps the functionality of the site has trained me into a particular method of viewing streaming content on Twitch. It does seem detrimental to the streamers I am trying to view though, as I often end up not watching any of their content due to missing 15-30 seconds when I first open their stream. It would be nice if Twitch could fix this issue so that there is no 15-30 second delay when initially opening a stream. Thank you Kappa

Gave input on this a while ago.
On mobile, Twitch implemented the idea that I gave, though it can still be better (further council was given for that as well; creating an end-user toggle between advert audio & stream audio).https://twitter.com/war77el/status/1305715140726337537
Desktop/Browser changes following closely in similarity would be a great convenience for moderators and managers.

I just want to say ads at the start of a LIVE stream is the most annoying thing in the world I just want to go through my list to see who is doing what and switch between streams to see how someone else is doing at that exact time not 10 seconds after i click on their streams.
I understand youtube ads in the beginning but this is live Id rather twitch give me a countdown to when Im getting an ad. -

Completely Blocking live streams with ads ruins the experience. I avoid starting streams I would have otherwise watched because I don’t want to get hit with 6 ad rolls while trying to follow a match. Partial screen block would be a big improvement

More ads on twitch than free-tv has nowadays.
I'll cancel my prime subscription for this reason -

Its high time you integrated turbo with subs. The no ads only on channels that you are subbed to is not feasible if I watch more than 3 streamers. Just the instance of getting a pre roll where I cant see the stream kills my interest in a stream and grossly affects discoverability for smaller streamers. Turbo should be enabled by default if someone has 3 subs on twitch if you don't want people to use adblockers.

The "ad break" **** has gotten really bad for me now, like they've doubled down on it. I'm getting interruptions every 15-30 minutes or so.
This is how you kill your business.
