  1. Allow Partners & Affiliate channels to create their own 60 and 30 second respectively custom channel pre-roll ad that will inform new visitors of what the channel is about and what to expect.

  2. No small streamer should have to think about dealing with pre-rolls. It hinders growth and discoverability. It's likely that most small streamers are just starting to figure out how to retain an audience. So having to juggle between bringing new people and keeping those who were already there is an unnecessary job that only brings more anxiety.

    Affiliates (or maybe just streamers with less than 10 simultaneous average viewers or so) could have a lighter ad schedule. For example, in order to disable pre-rolls, streamers would need to run 1min30s of ads every hour. That would be a good way…

  4. Wenn man jedem streamer nen sub gibt den man schaut ist man am Ende pleite, es verdient nicht jeder so viel. Und wenn ich alle 30min. Werbung an schauen muss verpasst man mind.   5. Picture-In-Picture was a good idea to roll ads non invasively. It initially dawned on my but I was unsure how to provide that feedback.

    The UX on mobile is still rather rough when it comes to pre-roll ads, especially when people are co-streaming and you want to quickly swap between two channels.

    I propose that on mobile, rather than play a video for an advertisement, a silent banner is placed under the video player, which could be used to embed dynamic content, for maybe ~5 seconds and then it could be dismissed. Keeping in mind that users might not have…

  6. I'm dodging pre-rolls like crazy. I'm not talking about muting the tab and doing something else while Twitch advertises to the void; I'm either closing Twitch and not engaging with the service or I'm going to keep refreshing, bouncing between streams until the system gives in and plays the stream without the ad—which, miraculously, works after roughly 15 seconds—a net gain given that most ads that play on Twitch much longer. And, keep in mind, the moment Twitch fixes that strange loophole, I'm going to revert back to closing Twitch and disengaging 99% of the time.

  7. Please consider limiting the size or amount of pre roll ads we receive. It is really off putting if I want to switch between 2 or 3 different streams but every time I see a 15-30second ad. I also am more likely to not check out a smaller streamer if I get a 30 second ad right up front. Thank-you.

Instead of having disruptive and user experience unfriendly pre-roll and midroll ads automatically play for streamers, with their only alternative being still disrupting their own content by playing ads manually to turn off preroll ads for a period of time, allow streamers and content creators to fill in an amazon blacksmith list of recommended purchases for the viewers. Viewers are a lot more likely to take the list seriously vs a 10-15 second ad by a big corporation, and is more valuable to all parties involved. Twitch/amazon could even suggest items for the viewer to possibly add to the list…

  9. Any way that ads won't cover the entire screen won't keep viewers away from the action, which would make them much more bearable. The current state is NOT like ads running on TV, more like if we had to watch ads during a sports match and ended up missing part of the game because of it! It's obviously extremely disruptive and long term damaging.

  10. If I'm switching between channels looking for a good stream, I have to sit through a minute-long ad each time. More often than not, this leads me to stop watching Twitch as I don't have the patience to sit through so many ads.

  11. I do not like pre roll ads. It is annoying to me as a viewer and a streamer. If you insist on having ads, allow an opt in setting. While opting out disables ads permanently.

  14. I'm getting sick of the McDonalds pre roll ad. I actually went and searched for what they were advertising. The classic big mac pack is no longer being offered in my location and others in Texas. In essence could we report ads for promotions or products no longer offered.

  15. I was scrolling through my "Followning" feed, and was focusing on a streamer to whom I had never actively tuned into before. I was following this streamer most likely because a streamer I enjoy and subscribe to raided and suggested I follow. Which I generally do, because that's how we build community.

    When I attempted to tune in to this suggested streamer, I was greeted by pre-rolls. And a LIST of how many more pre-rolls to come. "Oh heck that!" Said me, "I'll go tune into someone I'm already subscribed to!"

  16. Upon accepting affiliate status, a lot of affiliates take a big hit in viewership since a lot of viewers are turned away by pre-roll ads. However, current viewers are taken out of the experience if an affiliate has to take a 3 minute ad break every 30 minutes to disable pre-roll ads. It would be much more useful for smaller streamers if they could take a 5 minute ad break every hour so the viewers could take longer breaks and for the streamer to not feel interrupted whenever 30 minutes pass.

  17. I would really appreciate it if you could make ads not straight after someone clicks on my stream but after 5 minutes of watch time or so and when people view vods. I find that tons of new people click off my video straight away because of the ad and it's so hard to grow my community

  18. You have 7sec or less (30sec ads = lost viewer) to serve the viewer their content or they will bounce, do like YouTube's 5secs. Ads must be relevant to the streamer. Ads can not violate COPPA.

  19. They killed the experience of finding new streams because as soon as I find a stream I'm instantly hit with 30second to 2mins of ads, only to be hit by them every few minutes, how am i supposed to enjoy a stream when I miss out on so much?

  20. its *****, i just hosted another member, i got a commercial, im subscribed the that channel i hosted, and missed the **** thank you or if anything was even said to me... i have also left so many other streams because i aint wating for that *.... it also kills all curiousity of the thumbnail... its a complete joke of a revenue scam and im muting the **** thing anyhow... i think im done here... i literally dont even enjoy it here anymore.. ty, gnite, g'riddins
