Authentication Docs Improvement Honestly this whole documentation is a bit sloppy. There should be clearer examples of using the APIs as I had to go Googling how the authentication actually works as the headers seem to be different than this suggests.

User banned extensions unload So it seems that when a user is banned or timed out, extensions unload/are unavailable to those users.
This is not documented.
It should be documented somewhere

Update References to v5 API There are reference to V5 API here to get user and channel ID.
Combined with the GitHub Sample at https://github.com/twitchdev/pubsub-javascript-sample that is still using it this is very confusing to get to work.
Suggest to update the sample and this article to reference the helix APIs instead.4 votes -
Manage Roles via the API It shouldn't be required for manage roles such as mod/vip via the chat
It shouldn't be required to manage editor/mod/vip via the roles manager
it would be useful for automation/third party management to be able to manage roles via the API
28 votesCurrently not a top priority, but we are interested in your use cases for this functionality to be considered at a later time. Please include more information in the comments as to how and why this would be useful.

Cheer emote placement Please update eventsub to provide emotes used and placement of the emotes in the message similar to chat message does in order to allow us to easily reconstruct a cheer message to look like it did in chat
similar to
Example
The "emotes" tag from https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/irc/tags#privmsg-twitch-tags

Add emotes field to channel.cheer Via IRC we can get emotes in message shared with cheer for clean the message for use via TTS or showing message with image for replace emote.
I think you have to add this field in this event because we already have message shared but can't parse it.

Channel Points API: Control "Out of Stock" state and prompt Currently the API doesn't support marking a reward out of stock manually. This may be beneficial for rewards that take some time to process where specifying a hard cooldown wouldn't be appropriate.
In addition, support for a custom "out of stock" message may benefit some developers. Using sound alerts as an example, if a streamer is in "focus mode" and needs to concentrate on what they are doing, rather than say the default "out of stock" it could say "StreamerX is focusing right now".

Channel Points API: Grantable Control of Third-Party Rewards Based on the current channel points API, a client may only access/update rewards for their own custom rewards. However, for some moderation tools, I believe managing custom rewards created by other clients and/or the Channel Owner's Dashboard would be beneficial.
Take for example a reward such as "Hydrate!", where, after 10 minutes you want this cleared from the reward queue if it hasn't been actioned already. To do this with the current API, a channel owner would have to first delete the existing "Hydrate!" reward and then recreate it using the script client. Repeating this for every reward to be…

How to send a basic API GET request with ajax or postman Unhelpful page. I want to send an API request to test through Postman, but I do not understand what format to put it in. It is asking for an OAuth token, but that request does not mention anything about that. Very confusing.

Expand on V5 to Helix mappings the V5 scope 'user_read' is not listed here. In the migration document it suggests that that is equivalent to the helix scope user:read:email. Is that correct?
Is there a V5 scope that matches the new helix user:read:broadcast

Data Retention for Banned Events and Moderator Events Both
https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-banned-events
https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-moderator-events
Only hold only "data" for a finite time period.
The documentation does not note the time period that data is retained and returned for.
Hypetrains does not it's 5 days.

Add a Notify-Feature to Component-Extensions when minimized Some extension depend on user interaction in a timely manner.
I'll use our fantasy Fight LIVE as an example. Here viewers can challenge other viewers for a duel. When this happens, the "other" (challenged) viewer gets a short hint "You have been challenged by XY" and two buttons: Accept and Decline.
Now, as an Overlay Extension this works perfectly well.
In a Component Extension the experience is very different. Usually a component is "closed" - That means the viewer can not see what's going on. We have no chance to notify the user that something is happening. It would be…

Get channel subscriber benefits/options as a endpoint An idea I had a while ago but never copied it to uservoice
Please provide
https://www.twitch.tv/products/STREAMER / the information in the "Subscribe popup"
as a end point
To return the
- product names
- emotes per tier
- is ad free enabled
- sub badges
- any emote modifiers
Optionally include the users progress to the next sub badge if authenticated as a user

Add is_prime to subscription events Add a flag, which is true, when a subscription is made through Prime Gaming. Distinguishing between a regular sub and a Prime sub allows us to react differently on these cases, like also being able to promote the free Prime Gaming sub.

Please provide an event sub that emits "resub payments" Subscribe topic only broadcasts "new subscriptions"
So when a subscription "expires" we don't get a "payment notification" for a Resub
This is NOT a eventsub for the "chat notification" see https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/42008104-please-provide-an-event-sub-that-emits-sub-notifi for that
74 votesChanging status to long-term. To preserve ecressey's previous comment, "I'm not clear on the use case for this. It seems like with a resub chat message notification and subscribe/unsubscribe events you should have the data you need."

Various EventSub Thoughts The channel.subscription events are very lackluster. Aside from checking if it’s a gift, and what tier it was there isn’t much useful data here. Any chance we could see something like months total, moths streak, or the tier? I know this data is there in the subscriptions API call, just curious as to why it hasn’t been included in this release of the EventSub system. Seems like a miss there
The channel.ban/channel.unban events could/should be merged. Just smash em into one topic and include a tag: “isBanned” as a boolean. Seems silly to have them separate, in my opinion.

Channel Points API Suggestions There should be a way to at least enable/disable or pause/unpause rewards that the Client-ID used didn't create. This makes sense since if I'm a moderator I can pause/unpause events that I didn't create for the channel in question. Even if it's a separate endpoint to prevent different bots from "writing over each other" I think this would be the best possible feature to add.
Possible bias: This would make my Channel Points Rewards (Twitch CPR) Game Profile system just that much slicker. ;)
Best part; Could just be a paired-down version of the current "get" function of channel point…
