  3. Currently, it is easy to tell if a user that sent a message in a streamer’s channel is a subscriber, VIP, or moderator of that channel. However, there is no way to tell if that user is a follower of the channel.

    With the rise of hate raids and malicious messages, I want to ensure that if a streamer is using a chat box overlay, that they have the option to only let messages from followers appear. Malicious users usually don’t follow the channel, and so this will prevent their messages from appearing on stream.

    I do understand that this…

  4. Off the back of

    https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/37563241-expose-vips-in-the-api

    Being an endpoint now.

    There is no endpoint for "how many VIP slots does the channel have"

    as per the help doc

    https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/Managing-Roles-for-your-Channel?language=en_US

    it scales based on the unique chatters/build a community achievement.

    So extend the Get VIPs endpoint to report the possible maximum VIPS for the channel I'm getting VIPs of.

    The last word of the "The bot is running locally..."
    It's supposed to be dice, i guess.

  6. Suggestion!!!

    It would be interesting for the API to offer a filter by language, in GET Clips.

  7. An update on Jan 31, 2019 gave channel moderators the ability to add comments to users within chat. There is currently no way to use the API to be able to set or retrieve comments for users in chat.

    This should be available to the broadcaster and all moderators within a channel.

    To add a mod comment to a user, the endpoint could take the following data as inputs:
    - User: {user's name}
    - Moderator: {mod's name}
    - Broadcaster: {broadcaster's name}
    - Comment: {comment to be applied}

    On success, this would return the following:
    - Success: {true}
    - date: {date}…

  8. I have a iOS mobile app that embeds Twitch clips retrieved from the api. When a user taps the big play button in the center of the video, the video overlay (thumbnail, title, controls) stays hovering for close to 6 seconds. Tapping the video again to hide to overlay does not work.

    However, when a user taps the small play button on the bottom left corner and then taps on the video, the overlay hides instantly.

    Having a significant portion of the video content covered for the first 6 seconds of the clip is a bit annoying, and most users…

  9. The existing Channel Emotes API response includes a 'bitstier' value of 'emote_type' for Cheer-earned emotes, but does not include any data about the actual number of bits required to earn the emote. Either the 'tier' attribute or a new integer-value (recommended) containing the number of bits for each emote would be very helpful. Adding the same attribute to the Emote Sets API response would also be useful and uniform.

  10. With the removal of the Follow Create endpoint.

    A "non moderation bot" can no longer be automatically added to a channel.
    The owner of the bot would have to "login" to the account and manually follow the channel(s) the bot joins.

    A "non moderation" bot doesn't run moderation commands, so giving it "mod" wouldn't make sense. (Which would bypass the follow requirement)

    Please provide a way to "authorise adding a bot to a channel" that will auto follow the bot to the channel. For this purpose

    This could be similar to how Discord does bots, where to add a bot…

  11. Hello, I have a question

    It provides a service that provides users with search results and filter functions on various platforms.

    Is there a way to increase the limit of the rate limit of the API currently being provided?

    Please check. Thank you!

  13. A timer may be shown next to the event status when the broadcaster's event status is updated. If this timer shows the time spent in the event state, viewers can see how long that event has been going on.

  14. Once a reward was created, the Reward ID CANNOT be changed, regardless of the ID was self-defined or automatically generated. Can you make the update option available?

  15. Only with a moderator scope, this will help mods go back in logs for a user rather relying on 3rd party logs site or using graphql

  16. Currently, an extension I've made can help show off a channel, including showing off their last played game. As this is one of the main reasons a person may be interested in following that streamer (based on the information that can be gathered by the API), the main way to improve upon that is to show more of these games.
    It seems strange that there is a list of the user's last several played games freely available on their channel, but not to be retrieved via an API.

  17. In the get started page (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/get-started) using the code provided in the "Make your first call" paragraph is not working (and also the first request to get the access token), the returned error is:

    "URL using bad/illegal format or missing URL"

    The error is caused by the use of the single quotation mark (') instead of the double (").

    I don't know if this is a Windows limitation or something wrong with my curl version (latest from the curl project https://curl.se/windows/) but I think that this should be corrected or at least mentioned, because I wasted half…

    And an API to manage auto on/off/swap active emotes from that library

  20. Bring back the translated language tabs for one. The lack of autotranslated language tabs will severely reduce viewers for all international streamers. This cuts off the community, and community is the whole purpose of Twitch. Secondly, bring back the ability to filter search results using multiple tags. Getting rid of this function also severely reduces viewers for less known streamers as people now have to page down through hundreds and hundreds of streamers to manually search for secondary tags, which in turn makes the average viewer less likely to search because it is unnecessarily laborious. Eliminating these two key functions…
