1. Some links didn't work removing "/u/nickname" from URL

   Several links like https://dashboard.twitch.tv/u/nickname/extensions/manage can be changed to https://dashboard.twitch.tv/extensions/manage by removing "/u/nickname" but this from extensions returns an error.

2. clip quality

   Why does the clip quality have to default to Auto for embeds? Nobody needs 1080p on a tiny video blowing up their laptop/phone.

3. Toggle Raid-ability of my channel (and minimum-amount threshold) through API

   I utilize the API endpoints to disable a few things while wrapping up my stream (such as disabling commands, channel point rewards, change chat modes, etc). Within this workflow, I recently realized it would be super helpful to be able to disable or configure the raid-ability status of my channel as well. It would also be helpful to be able to control the other parameters, such as the min/max amount of viewers in a raid, account age, etc. It would all be amazing to be able to control through the API in the event of a wrapup, raid abuse, etc.

   I think it's safe to say nearly every bot existing nowadays could easily incorporate this into their services, and in general I think it would provide a level of immediate control without having to use the already existing toggle within the creator dashboard. I can understand how this may seem silly since there already /is/ an option on the dashboard, but the same could be said about redeems, which can also be enabled/disabled via the dashboard and also have API endpoints to create/configure/delete them.

   For example, say I get two or three 1-person goofy/troll raids back to back. At this point it would be super helpful to have an API endpoint that I could quickly pass a request to for temporarily disabling raids to my channel, OR increasing the threshold via this API endpoint. Then my bot could immediately detect repeated 1-person raids, and increase the threshold, or turn off raiding entirely for like 30 minutes.

   And during a wrapup, when a streamer is usually DONE FOR SURE, the streamer could have a streamdeck button which runs the API request, or a bot that auto-shuts-off raids or maybe uses a !noraid command or something of that sort to trigger the same functionality.

   In summary, an API endpoint to configure Raid-ability settings or outright shut off raids would be fantastic!

4. Update Video through Helix

   The videos endpoint currently support GET requests to retrieve information about published videos and DELETE requests to remove videos. It would be nice to support PATCH requests to be able to modify a video's information, at least the title, description and thumbnail.

   I like to edit my video's thumbnail at the end of my stream, and right now I need to do it manually in the Video Producer. I'd like to automate this process, and the absence of PATCH request prevents me from doing it so far.

5. Scope or method to allow myself to mod myself

   To make it easier to streamers to add a bot to their channel.

   Some bots may be asking for the channel:manage:moderators scope.
   But this means the bot can add/remove any moderator.

   It would seem practical to create and support a scope or proceedure that restricts the scope to a single user.

   So channel:manage:moderators:15185913 when using this with asking user 26610234 would give me the ability to mod/unmod only that one userID

6. Please make the suspicious users feature available to mods

   The new suspicious users feature should be available to third-party moderation tools.

   A lot of moderators use third-party tools and it would be quite important to at least be able to see the messages/warnings. It would be even better if changing the restricted/monitoring state of a user would be possible as well.

   This would be akin to the great AutoMod API, which provides mods with a PubSub topic for detailed real-time information and Helix endpoints for handling messages.

8. Create multiple shoutout or reduce cooldown or cancel option

   Sometimes I need to send 5-6 shoutouts (4 streamers in the weekly event + gank) and that time is asynchronous with the time each streamer speaks.

   But a mod can't know how many slots there are, as the slot count is locked into the settings API

10. See unpublish vods

    If I call Get Videos with a user token with the scope "channel:manage:videos" I should be able to get that users unpublished vods.

    I have a use case where I need to be able to delete an unpublished vod, but I can't see the unpublihsed vod to get the ID of it to then call delete

11. Upcoming & Active Drops via API for Devs

    Why is there not currently an api that allows for regular developers to access the current upcoming/active drops?

    There are a couple of usecases for this (off the top of my head), for example;
    - displaying all active drops for specific games on a website like a fandom.
    - announcing upcoming drops via a discord bot.

    Currently some games are creating drop campaigns with no official notices or schedules and with a short turn around. Drops go live within 2-3 hours of creation and last 2-3hours, if you're not sitting refreshing the drops page every hour you're likely to miss the drop campaign.

    Creating an api for the devs puts the visibility of drop campaigns into the users hands and not the companies creating the drops - imo I don't see why this wouldn't also help get more traffic and revenue into twitch given better visibility of drops.

12. restrictions to prevent bot follows

    The idea is simple: Add the same phone & email verification options to the ability to actually follow a channel, and thus also giving account age requirements to be able to follow a channel. This will allow small streamers being targeted by hate raid Bot attacks to simply prevent the bot attacks easily, instead of being driven off the platform.

13. Extend the "ban user" endpoint to accept "login" as an alternative to the already existing "user_id"

    Today when you're using chat you can just enter /ban user and the user will be banned, and the same is true for the IRC command, you can ban just by their username. It would be good if the ban endpoint would follow the same pattern.

    The use case for that is that I have a tool to mass-ban multiple users on multiple channels at the same time (I mod quite a lot of channels, so this streamlines this process), and I decided to migrate from the IRC API to the helix API, but because of it just accepting the user_id, now I have to do an additional request to get their ids first (or multiple requests, if there are more than 100 users), which is inconvenient, but the real problem is:

    • I can't ban users which are suspended/deactivated anymore cause I don't know their id, and the get users endpoint just returns that the user does not exist when they are suspended/deactivated (even though they do exist, and could be unsuspended/deactivated at any time). Even though they are suspended, I still want to ban them, as I can't know if the suspension is temporary or permanent, or if the user will just reactivate the account sometime later.

    I feel like being able to just pass the login to that endpoint would make the whole process a lot easier and faster (and also, it would save a few requests to get their ids)

    You set your guest start to have 2 slots.

    You then use the API to move a user into slot 3/4 or 5

    The API allows this rather than 4xx with a "slot doesn't exist" type error

17. An iOS Embeds UI update

    Ever since the embed updates back in 2020, the mobile embed experience has been sub-par. The suggested way to embed on iOS was to embed on your website, then load the website in a web view in your app. This was so that we could pass along the parent parameter. However it results in a number of issues that I'd like to suggest solutions for.

    First, the issues:

    1. The UI of the player is unusable. If you load your own website embed, then it is far too small to use. If you simply load the pop out player's URL, then the elements are too big and overlap each other and block UI elements from being useful.

    2. Embedding in the way described above means that there are desktop controls (for example the keyboard shortcuts in the settings menu).

    3. Web browsers mostly prevent starting a stream unmuted. This is true even in an iOS WKWebView.

    Possible solutions:

    1. A parameter like mobile=true or something similar to let the player know to lay itself out in a way that is mobile friendly.

    2. Twitch or the community (probably me) can create an SDK to allow embedding natively. It might be able to use an app or user access token for the Twitch API in replacement of the parent property on web.

    3. Twitch can expose a stream URL through the Twitch API, which can require an app or user access token. Stream URLs are very easily accessible anyways, it'd be nice to have a Twitch approved way to access them. This would allow us to create our own player, and the developer agreement could require things like follow/sub buttons be displayed alongside it.

    These are just a few possible solutions. I know that Twitch wants to maintain a high level of quality for its users and developers, and this is a great opportunity to do so!

    EventSub exists for channels adding/removing moderator status to a user. I'd like the other way around. I'd like to receive an EventSub notification if I have been added/removed as a moderator.

    Why:
    In order to receive a notification whether my bot has been added/removed as a moderator in a channel, I have to subscribe to every streamer I support on channel.moderator.(add|remove), with the condition of broadcaster_user_id = streamer ID. If I could set a condition of user_id = my bot ID, I would only need ONE eventsub subscription each for add and remove, instead of 75000+ each. Win-win for both Twitch and me.

    • on activation run the oAuth scope check to allow reading channel follows
    • Allow an extension app access token to call the "Get channel followers"
    • Extend the JS helper to provide follow information similar to how subscriber status is

    if the extension utilises onFollow it would follow the helper value is updated the same as subscibers would be

    However existing bug - https://github.com/twitchdev/issues/issues/26 would also want to be fixed as well

    Usercase:

    broadly due to these API's moving to scoped it would be nice for serverless extensions to continue to not need a server. And/or avoid needless API's calls if it's already in the helper

20. Add an endpoint to return the number of channels that a user is currently joined to.

    I am trying to distinguish which viewers on my channel are most likely to be bots monitoring the channel versus people actually participating in the channel - even if they are just lurking. I would like to be able to check a given user_id and see if they are joined to multiple channels at once and if the number returned is over a given threshold mark them as likely bot accounts. I do not care what channels they are join into just the total number. Currently this information seems to only be available with user granted permission. Bot accounts are unlikely to grant any permission of course.
