  1. There is something I want to say about the follow-only chat mode.
In order to prevent indiscriminate chatting as soon as it enters streaming, it uses a follow-only chat mode.
When using this, the time setting is possible and the chat is not available for at least 10 minutes.
I think 10 minutes is a little long, so I personally want to set it to about 5 minutes.
Therefore, I hope that streamers can freely set the time setting in the follow-only chat mode.

  3. Nice idea to just feature followers in chat sometimes, but shouldn't be used all or most of the time. Some might have good reasons to not follow a streamer and still want to chat with others. They should not be forced to follow a streamer to be able to chat with others. Twitch has tools to stop spam, trolls and they should be used instead of making the chat followers only.

  4. Instead of slow mode for high view channels, create a system where comments appear every 20 seconds no matter how frequent people comment. With even 40 people chatting at the same time, it can become quite overwhelming. With this, it will give the streamer time to respond to every comment and make sure no one who has a valid question or comment is left out.

  5. Since some channels can be host to countless viewers at once, it can be really hard to keep up with the chat for either the streamer or the viewer. What if we give streamers the option to have parallel chats that are subdivided how they choose (whether based on subscription level or something else). It gives another incentive to donate, subscribe, and more, AND it gives the more devoted viewers a more easy way to follow chat for the streamer WHILE giving the streamer further options to customize their channel and the user experience for their viewers.

  6. When doing a stream that puts me far away from my computer, I like to use my iPad with the popout chat to read chat. But the "top donators" badge at the top, and the chat box at the bottom take up nearly 1/3 of my screen real estate (especially when scaling up font). I'd prefer the ability to go into the chat settings for the popout and hide them, even if I need to do it manually every time. This is easily solvable with a toggle that runs a tiny bit of Javascript hiding the divs.

  7. It's cool to be able to add someone as a friend by clicking their name in the chat, but it would be nice to be able to follow their channel as well.

  8. I think it would be cool if we could use 'Escape' on keyboard to exit out of chat, returning focus to the main Twitch window.

This is because, when I click in chat, then want to full screen using 'F', I have to click back on the main Twitch window, then press 'F'; instead of just 'Escape', 'F' which would be much more elegant.

    Thanks

  11. In the beginning it is difficult for little streamers to keep an eye on chat, games and other things. So that you don't miss any chat messages, a widget that could play a notification tone for new chat messages would be great to make it easier to start chat interaction.

  12. I'll explain my idea with an example. I'm watching HasanAbi at the election night and I'm curious about what Turkish people think. It would be great if I could've filter the chat by selecting a language! Or we can improve this idea and add some tags to filter (like common interest, tags). Especially when there are more than a couple of thousands of people in the chat it just flows too fast and it's really not useful.

  13. Fuzzy search would make it easier to find and tag other users/streamers in chat, or to search for other users/streamers in the twitch search bar.

For example, if im watching @itsHafu, and in the chat I enter "@hafu" the results should show a fuzzy search results including users such as @itsHafu.

  14. I think for the Chat logs there should be a feature to search by date instead of having to endlessly scroll up and waiting for twitch to load the logs

  15. It happens that lots of people in a crowded chat are telling the streamer all the same thing. And the streamer still doesn't notice.
One of the reasons might be because there are so many messages and emotes passing by every second.
Let's say 25 people write the same line. For example: "Watch your bag". It would be very helpful for the streamer (and comforting for the chat) if this line is set apart on top of the chat for a while. Bolded or with a bigger font for 15 or 20 seconds. This time can maybe even be adjustable…

  16. Problem is that when user wants to write large message and there is 500 symbols allowed for one message, they want to send 500+ symbols but send 500.
Idea - colorize pre-message into orange if the message length exeeds allowed length and stop printing of any extra length symbol.

  17. So I was watching a stream and an idea popped up in my head. What if I was able to watch streams and chat with my own country. Lets say I am from Bosnia and watching a stream in the US and it would be cool if you could just change the region of the chat to chat with your own people. A dropdown menu where you can select wheter you want to se All countries or a certain one. That would be really cool tho.

  18. Allow API to post highlighted messages.

We get donations and I want to post them to the chat under the channel account.

  19. When you are reading the chat and see a lot of @johndoe "Ah ah ah good one", we are curious about what john doe said and was so funny. To avoid the scroll, it should be possible to have an automatic scroll to the last message of John Doe by clicking on his name and select "see last message". Considering the scenario up here, his nickname will be present a lot (so not only be able to click on his name when he speaks, but also when he is mentioned).

  20. Expand the chat choice awards by platformizing it as something that can be done at the channel level with channel-specific categories and awards as well (could generate a ton of engagement). It would be a ton of fun for smaller and mid-sized channels to have things like favorite game of the past year and exciting games for the coming year (using a list of games that the channel sets). Other channel-specific awards - best moments (great for incentivizing users to tag highlights throughout the year and for surfacing them later), favorite channel moderator, best community member, fail of the year,…
