1. Different roles of moderator

   I feel it would be super interesting to have custom moderator permission. In particular i feel it woul be interesting for editor to have more permissions example changing channel points reward cooldown,etc. Example have the editor role for the video manager only.

3. URGENT: Make Suspicious Users Unable to Redeem / Aware

   The new suspicious user feature is great, but there one huge downside which ends up making me having to ban.

   When a user is marked as a suspicious user, they still have the ability to spam redeem channel points redemptions and the message saying "You message has been held due to channel moderation settings" causes a barrage of messages saying "hey I cant type in chat" etc etc etc.

   PLEASE make it so suspicious users are UNAWARE they can't chat & don't allow suspicious users (& non followers) to spam redeem channel points.

   Please! This would help out small streamers so much.

4. Here's an idea...stop randomly locking users out of chat to harvest phone data

   It has been two weeks since Twitch locked my account out of chat and told me they require a mobile number to unlock it.

   I was asked to submit a ticket and the first response I received said
   "Please note that Twitch Support is unable to bypass the need for phone verification on your behalf. If phone verification is enabled by the creator and you are not exempt, you must complete the verification in order to chat."

   I had already confirmed with the streamers that they did not change any verification settings. Even if they had, it would mean that a) every streamer on the platform decided to do it on the same day and b) the setting either did not affect every viewer, or the other viewers were lying about not having added a phone number.

   I had some of this information in the original ticket, but I replied making note of it again.

   The next reply said they would investigate further. After a week I asked for an update and was told no update was available.

   After another week I asked again and got a reply that was almost identical to the first one. This time, though, they did not try to blame it directly on the streamers. It was mentioned that streamers have the option to turn phone verification on, but that
   "We want to keep chat safe and fun for everyone! So sometimes we require users to verify their account with a mobile phone number before participating in chat. You'll only need to complete this verification once to chat across Twitch."

   So, the only conclusion I can draw is that Twitch is selecting random accounts and requiring mobile verification. Possibly as a test for requiring it of ALL accounts at some point.
   For now, though, their excuse makes no sense. Randomly selecting accounts does nothing to "keep chat safe and fun for everyone". Anyone who was really using chat to spam or break rules can just create a new account and poof restrictions are gone.

   The only effects this random requirement has are
   --harvest more personal data from some users
   --effectively steal subscription active time until the user gives in verifies a number
   --lock users without a mobile phone out of chat with no options

   I know some people don't mind giving Twitch a phone number. We are so used to companies collecting whatever information they want anymore. But I think we should all be a little concerned about where this is going. Why does Twitch want the additional data when it does nothing to "keep chat safe and fun for everyone"? The only explanations right now are as a test to see the impact if they require it of all accounts or because they monetize our data and they can get more value from accounts with phone numbers attached.

5. Experiment - Verified Chatting

   If Twitch for example does an experiment with having verified chatting in every stream please give us a notice on socials or even on Twitch itself. Also an option to opt out of it would be nice but I understand that verifying your phone is the future of Twitch. Since this test is not being done to every Twitch user only a select few I think it's fair to have that opt out option. A percentage will just verify phone and that's the data that Twitch wants anyway.

   It's been over 24 hours. Still can't chat and the sad part was that even Reddit mods/helpers didn't understand our complaints and we got massively downvoted until I just read on that post that somebody sent you guys a ticket and got a response that we can leave our opinion here.

6. automatically flagging of user account

   My account was "automatically flagged and temporarily blocked to prevent abuse" and now I am unable to chat.

   I had not interacted with the channel except to click the follow button prior to this block being applied. To be clear - there were absolutely no messages sent by me to this channel prior to this block happening. I have since sent an unban request, and am still waiting for a response.

   My account now displays "Banned on Linked Account" and searching tells me that 'If a user is seeing this message, they have had another account with their phone/email banned from your chat previously;'

   I have never had another account using my current email or phone number. I'm a completely new user to your platform. I used your locate feature and have confirmed that only one account is connected to my email, and I only added my phone number to my account today after this block was applied.

   Your anti-harassment ML based system appears to be giving false positives, and needs some work

   Platform: Twitch Android App version 12.4.1

7. Use 2FA Phone Number to Count as Chat Verification

   I am suggesting an idea which would utilize having set up 2FA using a phone number to count for chat verification as well.
   I was in a raid but when I got to the destination streamer I couldn't send messages in the chat even though I had followed that channel. I got a message saying that I couldn't chat because my account wasn't verified. I clicked on the little info icon, and it explained it and I was able to get into chat fine.
   I was confused though, because I have had my Twitch account set up with 2FA using my phone number for a while, easily more than 3 months. I thought that would suffice as enough for having my account verified. I was really confused when the system gave me the verification code to use before I had entered my phone number to the system. I know that's because of how Google Authenticator works, but still confusing that it worked.
   I'm just thinking that, because the layers of security are identical for setting up 2FA and chat verification, fulfilling one requirement could be counted as fulfilling the other. I don't think this would decrease security at all but it would improve the user experience. I know that it would take some coding work to make that happen, but I think the time would be worth it.

8. User Card separate from "Users in Chat" under Channel Tools in Mod View

   Currently in Mod View, we can see the Users In Chat list under Channel Tools. If I want to inspect an individual User Card, I either filter or scroll down to their name, and I can click on it to pop up the User Card on top of the viewer list. From here I have the option to pop out the User Card to a separate window, but this resets the Users In Chat list to unfiltered and scrolled to the top. If I just close the User Card rather than popping it out, this also resets the Users In Chat list.

   What I would really like here is to have the User Card be a separate widget from the Users In Chat list, so I can more easily scan through the list and pop out User Cards on the side to inspect them without losing track of where I am in the viewer list. This has become more of a concern lately in streams where we are constantly monitoring the viewer list to attempt to catch doxxers or hate raiders before they are able to post in chat.

9. Only allow accounts with 2fa enabled to watch your stream

   There are a host of problems on Twitch and I feel as though this idea could be a solution to some of the bigger ones.

   I suggest giving streamers the option to only allow accounts with 2fa to access their channel. Make it an option for the individual streamer and make it toggleable.

   In order for this to work, Twitch must do more than just “not allow the user to use chat.” Twitch needs to stop them from accessing the streamer’s channel all together. The same needs to be done for users who are banned/blocked but that is a whole other discussion.

   There should also be a way to have this feature enabled, but with a customizable exemption list so that streamers can still allow their nightbots, moobots, etc access.

   As someone who has faced harassment from a person viewbotting me for 10 months now, this is one of the only solutions I can think of to combat this. By only allowing accounts connected to a phone number to access my page, I would no longer be harassed this way.

   It would also eliminate the problem of people constantly harassing with alternate accounts.

   It would also be a good option for when someone is playing a new game and wants to stop people from using alt accounts to spoil.

   These are just a few benefits I could see coming out of this!

   Please Twitch, it is time to do more to protect your creators. As someone whose issues have been constantly pushed aside, I ask that you consider this solution not just for me, but for every streamer that’s faced harassment as I have.

   There are a host of problems on Twitch and I feel as though this idea could be a solution to some of the bigger ones.

10. Full screen chat on tablets for moderators

    I moderate two twitch channels while I play along side the streamers that I moderate for and the community that I moderate. I use my android tablet to keep twitch chat open so I don't have to stop being a moderator while I'm full screen in game (I only have one monitor). It would be a massive help if there was a way to have the chat fill up the whole screen on my tablet instead of just a small portion, maybe with full mod mode features if possible.

11. Canned responses for Twitch mods

    It would be fantastic if as a streamer, I can create canned responses for my mods to use in chat whenever someone violates the rules or has an FAQ. The benefits of this would be:

    • Saved time for my mods as they won't have to type out messages
    • Consistent messaging for my channel
    • Easier to bring on new mods and less of a learning curve

    Making a moderation feature that allows channel owners to give permissions to each individual moderators. This feature will give certain moderators access to manage commands/other features that only editors could access before. for example twitch has An editor role and a moderator role that can manage the broadcasters channel,right? so by adding a tool that allows certain editor commands/abilities to each individual moderators would be helpful to the channel owner, this command would need to be authorized by the owner of a channel or a editor. similar to how discord servers work(server owner can give any member of the server any commands they wish) Please consider the idea thank you for taking the time to read it!

    New accounts cannot because created with the word "grape" in it and will automatically trigger a red flag. I know this is nonsensical for some, but my name online has always had the word "Grape" in it because it is my last name. I'd love to create an account with the word "grape" in it. But apparently it's too close to word word "Rape" so it automatically won't let you put the word in your name.

14. Create community specific moderators.

    I mod for team Tempo Storm. Every streamer is added to the Tempo Storm community which we use to promote who is online in our website or through apps or bots on discord/curse. My role is to ensure every team member, no matter which game they are playing, is doing well and chat is behaving. This is sometimes hard to do if the streamer hasn't met me through the team contacts, or some other reason. These streamers may be hesitant to mod me or others like me in the same role.

    So my suggestion is to add a community based global moderator for team managers and staff to be instantly recognized and trusted when entering a streamers channel that belongs to your team.

16. IP banish people from livestreams

    Allow broadcasters to ip ban viewers from their stream & no longer watch there stream. Also an option for broadcasters to set this permission for moderators if they are comfortable.

    So in practice this idea seems simple and would be effective. The basic premise of this would be that the Streamer can toggle on/off a feature that would require someone to have a twitch account and be following to view the content otherwise it would just be a black screen that says "Please login and follow to view the following content". I think this could help prevent harassment on various levels as I will describe.

    Scenario 1 - Stream Sniping
    So for anyone who plays online multiplayer games, stream snipers can ruin a stream quiet fast. Whether it be Fortnite, COD, Fall Guys, etc. there are people who take time out of their day to ruin the fun for others. Now if the feature I described above was toggled on then they wouldn't be able to open the stream in a private window and watch what's going on anonymously and carry on greifing. Instead they'd have log in with an account and be following and therefore at risk of being banned and if they were banned the screen would black out thus not giving them any opportunity. Sure they could make another account however any moderator or streamer on point could pick up on a freshly new account that just started to follow after a ban and act quickly. This would really help put a dent to stream snipers because if they do get caught they can't see the streamers POV and if they can't see it, it becomes much harder for them to ruin the experience.

    Scenario 2 - Overall Harassment
    This could help deter people who might be intent on harassing someone but can't see the stream unless they login and follow. Thus they are more likely to move on elsewhere or stop all together. For instance someone who is purely making new accounts to harass a streamer would not be able to see the reaction they intend on getting unless they keep making new accounts.

    All this could easily work in conjunction with Twitch's Suspicious User Activity that detects possible ban evaders and such thus giving them a black screen until a Moderator reviews the action and either allows them to watch or bans them.

    Anyways this is something I have thought about that could stem one of the bigger issue multiplayer streamers face with stream snipers and general harassment as well.

19. Clear Timeout/Ban Log

    Sometimes mods timeout/ban someone on accident. We quickly unban them, but it still shows that they've been timed out and their record isn't clean. This can be harmful to the chatter as other mods or the streamer might think they've actually done something wrong and make a decision in the future based on this false record.

    Shield Mode should not be displayed without explaining that it clears chat. It should be locked into Mod View, not default channel view.
