How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. It would be great for channel Editors to be shown in the AutoMod queue when users attempt to use blocked terms in a channel. Certain words/phrases can have multiple variations and it's unknown when someone is actually trying to use those. Having this available to Editors+ would be helpful for catching bad actors before something gets posted in chat, without bothering all mods who may not all be privy to that information or know how to deal with it (such as attempts at doxxing). Mod Cards should also have a separate section for blocked terms/automodded words so that all of…

  2. Reporting messages by the community would work on the principle that next to the message or in the user's profile from the streamer's side, there will be a button from reporting the user (anonymously or with the name visible) to moderation of the channel. The streamer's moderators will decide whether to apply the appropriate punishment or possibly report the user's message to twitch

  3. It is way too easy to accidentally activate Shield mode for a new moderator when there is a click-through handholding guide that pops up with it. Please make it wait until after the walkthrough to avoid accidental activation. Thanks.

  4. Sometimes mods timeout/ban someone on accident. We quickly unban them, but it still shows that they've been timed out and their record isn't clean. This can be harmful to the chatter as other mods or the streamer might think they've actually done something wrong and make a decision in the future based on this false record.

  5. I'd like Shield Mode to automatically disable follower only chat, sub only chat, etc when I am online.

Basically, if I'm offline, Shield Mode should be on in full force, when I'm online, disable it

  6. When using Shield, I think it would be a great addition to allow the streamer to decide on having autobans or timeouts, depending on the severity of what is said in chat by chatters.

I understand that the autoban is there to prevent some really nasty things in chat, and for that, I get it. But, my mind is telling me that I also would like to have the option to change that for certain phrases and/or individual words.

    e.g.

When entering custom phrases like, "you suck", "ur trash", etc.

These are definitely mean, but bannable offenses, I don't think…

  7. Stream delay for viewer categories

To combat stream snipers, allow streamers to customize a stream delay for each group of viewers. Similar to the "Followers-only mode" settings in Moderation, but for the stream itself.
e.g. Subscribers: no delay, Followers: 30s-1min delay, Non-followers/Guests: 3min delay.

  8. That there is a setting where the moderators have to approve all links that are posted before it is sent. This could also be integrated into the defense mode and only activated when this is activated (as a setting like the rest in the mode).

  9. It may seem extreme to some people, but i'm a moderator on a girl streamer's channel and lately she's gotten a lot of harassment from just one person, that person does not stop creating accounts all the time just to continue writing uncomfortable and improper things to her.

Me and her channel's moderator team are reporting all of his accounts through Twitch's reporting system, but that won't limit the person from creating new accounts.

So, my idea is that only the streamer will have access to suspend IP addresses of multi-account stalkers.

    Thanks for reading.

  10. If someone wants to be unbanned from a streamer, propose a voting window with 1 vote per moderator to define this viewer should be banned or not depending from the view of each moderator

  11. As a frequent user of Twitch chat, I would like to request a new feature that allows moderators to add slow mode to specific users instead of the entire chat. Currently, slow mode affects the entire chat, which can be frustrating for users who want to participate in the conversation at a faster pace.

The ability to add slow mode to specific users would be helpful in situations where a particular user is spamming the chat or posting inappropriate messages. By being able to add slow mode to individual users, moderators could prevent these users from continuing to disrupt the…

  12. I wish Shield mode had a Slider in Moderator Mode just like the other chat options. However to prevent accidental Activation it had a confirmation pop up kind of like when you look at emotes or click a username to gift a sub.

  13. Have an option to remove timeout/ban history events in the User Profile view in the mod tool. Reason: Sometimes users get accidentally timed out when mods are using the mod buttons on messages and the chat scrolls and they mis-click the incorrect user. When this happens it shows in the timeout/ban history. Some creators use this information when they are thinking of promoting a viewer to VIP or even Mod and they see a timeout/ban and that may deter them. Plus, that user is put onto the channels sharded banned list even though it was an accidently ban.

  15. Recently i had to fend off a hate raid that brought in around a hundred fresh bot accounts following the channel, the immediate subchat/emoteonly reaction was very effective, along with shield mode but dealing with the aftermath was very painful. Would be nice to have the option to ban multiple accounts at once, maybe even from the Activity Feed itself. It took me around 15m to ban every new account that followed and clicking on each single name waiting for the corresponding section of the mod view to load the ban button in felt like a waste of time.
    Having…

  16. I feel like adding a confirmation message/button when enabling Shield Mode, there is too many "miss clicks" it's too close to other buttons, as suggested before.

  17. I think twitch should add predefined ban reasons/categories (like homophobia, racism, harrasment, ...) that moderators could use. This feature could open to many moderation improvments that I detail below

    More details :
    - Twitch could reserve ban categories Ids (like the 100 first ids) for common ban categories that every streamer can use
    - Other Ids could be reserved for other purposes (country related law, ...)
    - Other Ids (let's day IDs from 1000 and above) could allow streamers create custom reasons.
    - Moderators often use tools (FFZ, ...) that would help use this feature more efficiently

    Other features that…

  18. Making a feature for streamers to be able to see all the previous usernames of the viewers, if they made changes you can see what username they use to have in the past, for example to prevent from a toxic username or to be able to recognize who they are if they made changes.

  19. Shield Mode should have a setting to not allow "day old, week old" accounts to follow. These accounts are usually made for bot follows or to overstep bans/timeouts. Same with Bot follows.

  20. There are situations where mods may accidentally ban someone (sometimes clicking over to chat and accidentally hitting one of the mod tool buttons) and even if they're immediately unbanned, they're permanently on the shared ban list and whenever they show up in a chat that shares that banned list they get restricted from chatting and unless you mod in all the chats that share the ban list, you can't remove them from it.

I just feel like there should be a way to undo someone being put on the shared ban list because it can really suck for a viewer…
