How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

If you need help:
This forum is for ideas only. If you need help, please check out our help portal for tons of articles that may answer your questions. If you still need help, you can reach out to our support team in the help portal as well!

Appeals or commentary on suspension decisions, support requests, suggestions disparaging others, and non-constructive feedback will be closed without comment.

  1. Would be nice if we could assign a "super mod" of sorts, so they can do extra things, like un-mod other mods? Not every streamer has the time to sort out grievances in their communities, especially in the mod team, so a "super mod" would be nice to have so they can get rid of toxic people from the team, without having to burden the busy streamer.

  2. Moderators or streamers have a "report" button that notifies twitch staff of a viewbot or followbot attack and it can ping a staff member to come and watch the channel to see the attack in action so that the attacker cannot report the channel for viewbotting/following.

  3. Inspired by a real life incident today having to ban a person for calling the streamer a 'dirty wh**e' in French, moderators having to do the extra leg work to translate languages they don't speak on a third party website to curb abuse could be massively simplified by having an option baked into the system to detect language and offer a translation as required would make for an excellent tool to keep our communities safer.

  4. Es wäre hilfreich, im e-Fall auch etwas gegen Follow-Botting unternehmen zu können. Z.b. um alle infrage kommenden "Follower" Gesammelt entfernen zu können Bzw zu melden und nicht jeden einzelnen

  5. Give moderators the ability to temporarily suspend the ability for new viewers/chatters to follow the stream. This would be a useful feature for when followbots and/or hate raids attack a channel, the mods could put /followsoff (or similar) in chat to make the follow button unavailable for that stream. This would prevent mass followbots, prevent hate raiders from following, and prevent the painful process of streamers having to break away from their content and deal with turning off alerts and other mitigation measures. The mods could then use /followson (or similar) to reactivate follows. (There could be a "default" where…

  6. A filter for the activity feed to flag followers and the ability to multi-select new followers so we can batch select fake followers so we can ban & remove them easily.

  7. Allowing the editor to delete the moderators messages

because some moderators may make a mistake by placing a wrong link, mistakenly suspect it, or make a mistake in anything, so the editor can delete the message.

  8. Swap the place of the timeout and ban buttons to move ban away from the “delete message” button especially on the mobile mod view menu. To prevent incidental bans on users when trying to delete messages, and leaving a permanent stain on a users profile.

  9. Currently, users can block whispers from strangers (which most seem to have enabled), where strangers are not "someone you follow, someone you subscribe to, one of your mods, or one of your editors".

It would be helpful if mods for "someone you follow or someone you subscribe to" were also included in this list but only be applicable if mods utilize the Quick Whisper button within Mod View. Limiting it to only when the Quick Whisper button is used would keep it from being abused outside of the stream.

This will allow mods to send warnings to users without calling…

  10. So in practice this idea seems simple and would be effective. The basic premise of this would be that the Streamer can toggle on/off a feature that would require someone to have a twitch account and be following to view the content otherwise it would just be a black screen that says "Please login and follow to view the following content". I think this could help prevent harassment on various levels as I will describe.

    Scenario 1 - Stream Sniping
So for anyone who plays online multiplayer games, stream snipers can ruin a stream quiet fast. Whether it be Fortnite,…

  11. Shared ban lists should have the option of auto-banning people on the list (instead of just monitoring or restricting them). Most likely this would have to be paired with some way of categorizing and collaborating on your ban list so you could just share a "worst of the worst" ban list with another streamer and anyone either of you adds there would be auto-banned from both your channels. This could help streamers who have shared values and a close relationship avoid problematic streamers.

  13. Have an option to permit a message that is flagged by auto mod instead of adding it as a permitted term.
This is because sometimes a term is relevant to a topic of discussion but can quickly be used in an inappropriate or hateful manner.

  14. The new "banned users cannot watch the stream" might be worth adding to the shield mode system.

So you throw shield mode on and then banned users auto enables if enabled in the shield mode configuration

  16. the streamer should be the only one that can accept or deny unban request cause the stream could mod someone that a person that that they dont like and ban and deny the unban request behind the streamer back when they are not paying attention and that could make the streamer look bad and the streamer can complain to u about it so mods shouldnt be able to accept or deny unban request and also it can make the viewer upset as well too cause he be thinking he or she did something wrong please remove that from mods thank…

  17. For some time now the Mod Action filters don't work correctly. For instance checking Timeout/Untimeouts does nothing. Clicking on Bans/unbans lists bans/unbans and all timeouts even though the timeouts/untimeout checkbox is NOT checked. Selecting message deletions does nothing too. These problems are happening while using the latest version of Firefox and Chrome and my fellow mods are reporting the same thing. This has been going on for months now.

  18. When handling unban requests, we often think "ok you apologized, but your request was too soon regarding how long we estimate you should be banned"

I think having an option to set the end of the ban to a further date would help a lot. The interface could tell requesters that we have accepted their request and that they will be unbanned at the specified time

  19. Shared-bans feature need more infos !

Actualy we only have the state that somone is banned from an other stream.
We have to go ask the mods of the stream in question each time why he was banned to decide if we also ban him or if we remove the chat restriction.

We can't just ban them because they are banished elsewhere. If we can't note the reason in the moderator comment, they have every chance of being unbanned if they make a deban request because we don't even know the reason. While it may be for very good reasons

  20. You have the option to block or allow links.

It would be nice if you could set which classes can post links.

    Followers, VIPS, MOD's subscribers.

unfortunately you can only turn it on and off.

It would be easier for a streamer if we could directly decide who is allowed to post links and who is not.

For now, there's only this: Block links Your channel's chat will automatically delete URLs that weren't posted by yourself, your moderators, admins, or VIPs.

But the subscribers go away empty-handed.
