1. Give streamers the option to lock functions behind set criteria.

   We've all noticed the follow bot/hate raid stuff lately and quite frankly this is getting tiresome. I have some simple ideas that'll help with these issues that should keep the community safer than they already are.

   1. Allow users to disable the ability for follows to happen on their channel without the following account already being verified/enabling 2FA, or even exist for a set amount of time, a time chosen by the user. Could be 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc.

   2. Give users the option to disable hosts and raids from any users that that haven't verified their account/have enabled 2FA. Or even go one step further and allow users to prevent hosts and raids from channels that aren't affiliate. This might damage some smaller creators ability to network and grow, but it'll keep the streams safe from targeted raids from bots.

   3. Allow users to block certain phrases or words from appearing in their activity feed. With all of the Hoss bots following lately, simply make Hoss a blocked term so any account with that name cannot trigger notifications or clog up the activity feed on the Creator Dashboard. Much like how alerts from third party sites allow you to prevent spam and vulgar text from going through to your notifications.

   4. Create a CAPTCHA system for new raiders. Twitch has an embedded achievement system that keeps track of the number of times a user has raided someone after a stream. Incorporate a trust system related to these stats where perhaps the first 25 or 50 raids a channel ever does will require the user to complete a bot test in order to proceed. This plan isn't fool proof but it'll stop these automated hate raids from happening from a piece of code alone.

   5. Allow for better reporting tools. Any time we need to report an account on Twitch that is a bot or targeting streamers we have to jump through multiple hoops. There is no option for "suspected bot account" and must go through this whole thing of saying an account is malicious which requires 3 or 4 pages of options to go through. Simply make suspected bot account an option on the first page of the reporting tool, same with "user hate raided" to make reporting and blocking these accounts a lot easier and quicker to deal with. Because as you may know when someone is being attacked while on air, chances are they are getting more worked up and upset every second that they have to click multiple options for multiple accounts. Make it quick and easy.

2. Third party websites recording chat logs

   Logs should only be available to the moderation team and the existence of third party websites that are using bots to constantly save chatlogs represents a potential security problem for the user. They shouldn't be publicly available

   In this specific case I'm talking about, https://logs.ivr.fi/ that uses a twitch irc bot easily available in, https://github.com/gempir/justlog

   I hope there is a way to control this or at least make it harder to setup.

6. Chatbot presence restrictions

   Chat bots are intended for a channel owner to engage and moderate THEIR chat and channel. It is inappropriate, unwelcome, and absolutely NOT HARMLESS. You would NEVER in your right mind allow some stranger (or their spy cam and mic) to lurk unwelcome in your home.

   Chatbots should not have the same account-like status as real people. They should be restricted to their owner's channel and chat completely via implementation. They should not be permitted to roam freely.

7. make the viewer bots like commanderroot, apricotdrupefruit, etc able to be removed from the viewer list entirely

   Over the last few years there have been more and more of these fake viewers popping into my streams that just sit there and do nothing, they're bots, they don't chat they don't follow they don't do anything but take up space and make it harder to see where my real viewers are. Its tiring and frustrating to know these bots even exist, I want them gone!

8. Changing how Bots appear in Chat determined by individual Streamer

   I have an issue with bots in my chat. I don't need to see them listed alongside real users. What I ask for, is that you can right click them and "label as bot". Putting them into a different kind of 'listing' on the 'see who is in your chat' popup. This does not mean you kick them, or ban them or etc... it just means that "you" can see whether they are bots or real users. Or any User on your channel when opening up the list of viewers, can see that they are at the bottom, listed under the Title of "Bot". You can also do this to people who are not bots, but ONLY within your channel.

   If Twitch then saw that an account was listed hundreds of times as a Bot... it would be a great way for Twitch to easily be able to scan these accounts and determine whether they were active bots breaking ToS or not. Would be a great easy scan tool that was done by User intervention for Twitch.

   Hey Twitch, I'm generally at a loss for what to do anymore. If anyone knows, please tell me, because all my viewers are bots and they always come back when I ban them. I don't know what to do anymore. Even if I ban them, they always come back. It makes me a little angry that I can't do anything about it. I'm just starting out and I feel like this is affecting me. I don't know how to ban them permanently; they even follow me, just to keep spamming over and over again. Please, someone help me. I don't even want to stream anymore because I keep getting bots. 10. Better revision to reports for the bots who only emoji the chat

    Problem with new bots which only send an emote to the chat...

    For several weeks now, I have been seeing a new type of bot which only send an emoji to the chat.
    This bots looks "harmless" but can be worst than spammer bots, because reports and reclaim on reports with no action are denied, so they stay in Twitch.
    This bots only send an emoji to the chat but when you look the profile, all of them have an AI generated profile promoting one website who describes themselves as "Buy Real Twitch Viewers & Boost Your Channel to Affiliate Status Fast" and even worst, I hope is not true, they say that they're a Streamers team...
    As I should send some examples here are some of these users:

    As you can see, all their profiles are the same AI generated image promoting a website to buy viewers/bots, and even the profile link.
    I don't know how Twitch can solve this problem, but users need a better moderation to look the reports, because report this users and sending a detailed explanation with the report, is not working and these accounts keep running...

12. Using bots

    Hello Twitch Support,

    I would like to formally report a serious case of botting on your platform. I am aware of a streamer who has admitted to using bots in order to artificially inflate their viewer count and “feel more comfortable with themselves.”

    This is a clear violation of Twitch’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Despite having already submitted multiple reports about this issue, I keep receiving automated responses saying that everything is fine. I am very concerned, as this behavior is unfair to honest streamers and harmful to the integrity of the platform.

    I kindly ask that this case be properly investigated. This is a very serious matter, and I trust Twitch will take appropriate action.

    hello i started my stream at 8 pm cst around on 08/07 an hour and a half in, i started to recieve a massive overload of viewers i went from 4 to 1100 and then jumped up by about 100 followers and at the writing of this its still happening i believe i am being viewbotted and i dont know what to do.

14. Fighting against viewbotting. Needing your help

    I've been attacking viewbotting services for a few years now. It's not like Twitch or Amazon are going to lift a finger but even without their help I've still made some massive strides:

    1- So far I've got Streamboo out of the TUCOWS servers and they've been relegated to the Chinese servers (NICENIC) after a brief temporary installment on the ADMINVPS servers.

    2- I've previously chased Dogehype out of the NAMECHEAP servers operating in Europe (Iceland) but they've returned again and NameCheap is, once again, supplying scammers with websites.

    3- I'm attempting to get the NEZHNA ones dealt with on the DYNADOT servers with some difficulty. Dynadot doesn't seem willing to sever ties with the scammers.

    4- I got BooViewers shut down on the CUTTLY mirror services.

    5- Similarly, I got BuyFollows shut down on the CUTTLY mirror services.

    I'm really sorry about the massive bot slaughter of Jun/Jul last year. I was exploring ways to get Amazon's insurance "adjusted" to reflect that Amazon was doing nothing in regards to attacks on their assets. I believe my inquiries resulted in a massive purge of many bots proving that Amazon DID actually do something. I might have inadvertently killed a lot of genuine bots by making requests for Amazon's insurance details. The timing is too coincidental to ignore.

    I'm keen to keep fighting but what I need is screenshots from the chats of the offending bots. I don't need to know where the bot was seen (protect your streamer).

    If you see one, please screenshot it and send it to me. I'm targeting the hosts of the scammers. Once the server owner realises that they're actually assisting in the attacks against Amazon (with a net worth bigger than Brazil's entire GDP) they seem to drop the scammers as customers.

    It's working. I'm getting results but I need more intel for the fight. You can tag @Gradgar on BlueSky (or just add them to my pinned post) or send them to my Reddit inbox of the same name.

    It's like I said, Twitch and Amazon aren't going to lift a finger in this. They don't care if you get scammed and they want the community to clean up their mess.

    It's literally up to us because Twitch won't even implement a few simple lines of code that would prevent this from happening.

    Whitelist sery_bot so it doesn't get banned.

    Sery_bot is a friendly Twitch moderation bot that protects your stream from hate raids, bots, and spam - plus lots of fun features for your community!

    Streamers can simply /mod sery_bot for free comprehensive protection, not to mention reduce the work of volunteer human moderations.

    It appears the bot has been banned several times as of late and we heavily rely on this bot for protection not only for the streamer, but also the viewers to maintain an enjoyable experience.

17. I've nowhere else to say this, but I was just watching a streamer that got flagged as a bot? Wtf?

    The anti-bot measure just backfired on someone I was watching. Bots came into chat, bots got banned, then the streamer just mass-flagged as a bot and got suspended.

    I reckon there'd ought to be some stop gap for such a thing.. like if they've been a person who's streamers without incident for the last few years, might be safer to assume they're not suddenly a bot.

18. Follow bot Twitch partner groups

    There are two Twitch groups that are filled with bots and fake streamers, almost all of them have over 2k followers, these groups send follow bots and hate raids.

    The twitch groups are Siedler and NaM

    There doesn't seem to be any way for a twitch group to be reported for bots or fake content, but there are groups out there specifically going against ToS and there's nothing we can do about it on this side. Please give us a way to send a twitch group Report so groups like these can be vetted and reprimanded. Thank you.

20. the easiest idea to solve the problem with all bots, without much work for twitch itself.

    Dear Twitch,

    The simplest idea to solve all bots of the category (Follow, View) forever and help Twitch to become the first platform of transparency and credibility in 4 steps:

    • Change your statistical analysis on the platform. For example, “only verify all” accounts are counted and displayed as “View/Viewer”, “Follower” and for other statistics. Nobody gets any more information about how many people are watching the stream. You only see a “real number” of followers and current viewers.
    • All verified users (via ID card/Passport or something similar) have access to one account, not several. (Except for partners/affiliates who each have a private account)
    • Write to all accounts via e-mail that you will now gradually take action against bots and delete dead accounts if they are not verified (e.g. 1 year to verify the account)
    • delete dead accounts / after this year of waiting time you can delete the "chat writing option" for non verify users complete.

    job done!

    It doesn't just sound simple, it is. If you communicate this properly in public, you are clearly taking action against fraud and your credibility as a platform is definitely strengthened.

    It's not for nothing that there are now private companies who can have a social media and influencer presence check for authenticity for a very low price.

    Twitch simply must not be afraid that the number of verifications will fail to materialize. The majority of users finally want credible transparency, they don't want hate and agitation in the chats, they want streamers who are credible and don't have hundreds of thousands of followers, even though no one ever writes in the chat or only a 0.14% rate of them.

    As an IT specialist, I used it to get our network clean again. As a user of twitch, I would be very happy about such a change. As a streamer myself (now on YouTube), I stand for transparency.

    Please do something at last.
    Nobody buys bots that can no longer do anything because they require registration.
