Tags with "TransRights" or similar strings being flagged as against moderation policy
Hi there. I am a trans man who has been streaming on Twitch for a few years now. Following the opt-out generative artificial intelligence setting, some streamers have reported that they cannot add tags such as "TransRights" or "TransRightsHumanRights" to their streams, as these tags go against Twitch's moderation policy. I have confirmed that I cannot add these tags to my stream.
This is a haunting and pressing matter. As a streamer, I expect Twitch to be a place where my audience and I can hang out, play games, and make art. For this choice to be made-- surely this is not an error-- is astounding. I am now questioning my relationship with Twitch.
Your users notice these things.

TransRights are human rights.
As someone who is gay, I absolutely dislike that Twitch has done this.
Recently, I got hit with a chat mute, and I can conclude the reason: I am gay, I am nerdy, and I am not popular.
I can only conclude that Twitch is gatekeeping and silencing via a "Shadowban" eventually will happen to you also.
Twitch "hates the term shadowban" but when chat messeges cannot be sent, I can ONLY conclude that a bunch of trolls are going around falsely reporting streams that are of low viewer count. This cancels anyone NEW off the platform if it is a dialect of hate thinking.
I am unsure, my thoughts are a bunch of advocates are going around hate reporting with vpns to try to force the algorithmn a specific way or format towards purely straight streamers and straight agendas.
A majority of Twitch streamers do support lgbtqia+ rights and supports these rights as human rights -- as it rightfully should be a right.

If Twitch continues down this path of pushing away trans streamers, then I wouldn’t be surprised if they all decide to go to another platform.

Trans rights are Human rights. Tags stating so are a tool used by many for finding safe spaces online in world with increasing crime against Trans people. Twitch, you say using these tags are against moderation policy. Moderation policy is meant to protect your users. So who are you protecting? Because it doesn't feel like you are protecting your Trans users, but more like you are targeting them. Abhorrent behavior Twitch.

Why would twitch ever remove these tags? What is the stance of the twitch platform towards trans rights? This will be known as I am currently considering twitch as worse-than just a questionable platform. I am considering it dangerous and against transfolk.

Removing tags based around already discriminated groups is just more discrimination. The only thing this does is drive those people away from the site and from finding each other. This won't help them, and it don't help twitch.

I'd like to know the names of the people who put forward this new discrimination policy on Twitch. I'm a trans woman and have streamed on this platform for years, twitch has often ignored the trans community but a shift to outright discrimination is beyond the pale.

Removing the ability of minorities to find community and support has never been, and will never be, a "safety feature".

I can’t believe this. I’m a trans woman. I exist. Why would you take this tag away? What are you so afraid of that you would do this? Surely you make enough money. Surely you can be brave enough to stand up to our government. Please, don’t do this. Do what’s right.

You know. I don't get much traction from Twitch anyways. Honestly, it might be time to start looking into other streaming platforms.

Trans rights are human rights! This was a horrible decision to remove those tags. Someone's existence is not political or up for debate, or meant to be censored. This is sickening. These flags need to be removed for TransRights and TransRightsHumanRights. Very appalling. Trans people deal with a lot of issues, and this just adds to those issues.

It is appalling that these tags have been flagged. This needs to be reversed immediately and an apology issued.

Labeling a group of people's existence as 'political' is a means of censorship that erodes protections of vulnerable groups. It is an intentional tool used by authoritarians to attack people they deem undesirable before they are able to outright ban their existence.
Removing the ability to tag 'TransRights' and 'TransRightsHumanRights' plays into the narrative of politicizing peoples' existence and only serves to aid the oppressor. Twitch has been an online space where people can find community and interact in positive ways, forming real, meaningful connections. For transgender people this is especially crucial, as their existence is easily exposed, ostracized, and discriminated against in daily life.
Please do not assist the degradation of a group of people by following narratives that their existence, and by extension their inherent desire from freedom of oppression, is political. These tags should be allowed to be freely used by transgender creators on this platform.

Any streaming platform trying to limit "political" discourse by banning or more heavily moderating anything deemed as "political" is a slippery slope. What is and isn't political becoming the main point of contention down that slope.
I am a trans person, I discuss my life on stream from time to time. That doesn't mean me discussing my lived experience is political. I am not a political person. I just so happen to be targeted and harassed for who and what I am.
Using tags to passively mark our streams as safe spaces is to be expected.

Such an insensitive decision and what a way to alienate people. Trans rights are human rights. I will always stand by that
