Request to Restore Access to Blocked Content for Verified Age-Appropriate Accounts
I am a verified adult user (29) who has already completed the official identity and age verification process with Twitch Support. Despite proving my legal age, I am still subjected to blanket "Age and/or Region" blocks that prevent me from accessing various streams based solely on my geographic location.
I am writing to propose a shift from "platform guardianship" to "user autonomy." While I appreciate the intent to maintain a safe environment, imposing a total block on verified adults is a significant restriction on individual freedom. As a legally responsible adult, I should have the liberty to decide what content is appropriate for me to watch.
My suggestions for a better user experience:
1- Granular Classifications: Instead of a hard block, provide more diverse and detailed classification tags, allowing users to opt-in or out of specific content types based on their personal preferences.
2- Respect Verification Status: If a user has legally proven they are over 21, their verified status should override regional defaults.
3- Address Inconsistency: It is inconsistent to serve advertisements for mature products in my region while simultaneously blocking streams with similar classifications.
4- Inaccuracy of Labels & Human Error: Most of the time, the streams being blocked do not actually contain any of the sensitive content mentioned in the warning labels. Furthermore, streamers are often unaware of or inattentive to the specific labels applied to their broadcast, or they simply forget to update them. This leads to a filtering system that is overly aggressive, inaccurate, and fails to account for simple human error on the streamer's side.
Please prioritize individual freedom of choice for your verified adult community.

Not even 21, I’m verified 18, I can’t even watch my own bloody vods back. I got my Identification for affiliate, put everything I needed in and it said “nah mate you’re not old enough to watch this”
